  1. FACT: Because so many Americans are such pussies is the reason why we won't get any of those REALLY FUCKING AWESOME Intamin coasters here in the US. So next time someone sees some insanely kick-ass Intamin being built in Europe, China, Japan, etc, and they complain about why we don't get those rides in the US, just remember Skyrush and that Americans are pussies. That is all. 120% agreed. I've said it before, but America does not deserve Skyrush... at all. Hershey's Intamin trio is perfection, and that is why it is my favorite park by quite a large margin. If only I didn't live 2000 miles from it
  2. I am glad you had fun. Boomerang has a pretty wide horse collar restraints and I don't get much head banging on it either. None of the rides at Knott's beat you up anymore since they fixed Ghostrider. I think those "horse collars" are the reason I hated Boomerang so much. It felt like an SLC's restraints rather than typical Arrow restraints. I have no problems with most Arrow coasters (Viper and Ninja for example) because the restraint sits right on my shoulders, so my head is high up enough to not have head banging. But Boomerang had those stupid pads that made head banging inevitable unless you spend the whole ride trying to avoid it, which is no fun at all and shouldn't need to be done. Has Boomerang always had those restraints since it opened? Or did they change them at some point?
  3. Sol Spin is looking good. I'm crossing my fingers for it to open by the 18th (highly doubtful, but that's when my senior class is heading to the park). It'll be nice to finally have a fresh new flat ride in that spot after seeing it vacant for so long.
  4. The world's fastest coaster at the other Ferrari park would like to have a word with you... LOL I'm an idiot. I guess I was thinking more "strata"/super tall rides ("top hat coasters"). But you're totally right. That's embarrasing! Regardless, I also find it surprising that this has such a strong LSM launch. It looks like it has some great kick!
  5. Looks fantastic! I absolutely love how fluid the 90-degree transitions are on the way up and down. And the straight down drop looks like it will be quite a bit better than the 270-degree twists on Dragster and Ka. Even though it's around 100 feet shorter, the drop will probably appear bigger since it is straight down. It's nice to see Intamin build a huge launch (100+ mph) after over a decade hiatus. Hopefully this ride does well for the park!
  6. Wow! It's great to see Millennium Flyers going on such an old, classic woodie. I would've expected them on Boulder Dash before Wildcat, but it's still great news.
  7. When they first put up the cameras, it originally faced the railroad/Mine Ride. They moved it towards Silver Bullet, for whatever reason, not long after, and now it's back to where it was. And if we're talking Boomerang happenings/construction, I think the Boardwalk cam is the way to go.
  8. I actually like it. It's something different, and it's better than the generic GCI zero car in my opinion. Maybe my opinion will change once I see it running from all angles.
  9. ^I saw that post as well. I'd like to see some pictures... and I wonder why they did so. The ride is so incredibly tame, I see zero point for it.
  10. Loving the colors! Thanks for posting all the updates!
  11. The one of Vortex was shot with a full train (as you can hear), the one of Patriot was shot (I believe) by the park with an empty train before media day (note the load platform at the end still under construction and with absolutely nobody in sight). You hit the nail on the head. When the train is full of riders, I highly doubt there is any noticeable difference in speed / duration.
  12. Like ^ said, have fun! I LOVED Hersheypark last summer. Skyrush instantly became my favorite coaster, and Storm Runner and Fahrenheit are both fantastic (especially with the new soft restraints). I wasn't too impressed with any of their woodies, but they are good "supporting" attractions. Great Bear and SDL are excellent as well. Be sure to ride Skyrush in the back left wing seat. I tried putting my hands up on the first drop but the ride pretty much forces you to cling on for dear life. It's such a masterpiece of a coaster that America really doesn't deserve, if you ask me.
  13. Excellent report! Makes me miss that park so much from my visit back in June. Crowds were small and we got to ride El Toro, Nitro, and several others tons of times. Great park, great rides. Thanks for sharing!
  14. If Patriot goes over well (which seems to be the case), I am almost certain we will see the Carowinds Vortex get converted in 2018. I don't see why Cedar Fair would convert two of their stand-ups and leave out the third.
  15. To each his own, I guess. I actually like Viper quite a bit more than Scream, oddly enough.
  16. Since... forever. I first rode it in 2010 and it is still just as rattly today as it was back then... even on the "refurbished" blue and orange train. If you get a full train of riders and sit in the front row on a nice warm day, it can be alright. But the number of bad rides I've had far outweigh the number of good rides. Even though they have the exact same layout, I MUCH prefer Bizarro at SFGAdv.
  17. I'm 17... so, no I guess? Does your home park have a GCI coaster?
  18. Hersheypark last June! When was the last time you rode a B&M Stand-Up?
  19. My expectations for what's in the shed are still very low. I expect some screens/props and maybe a vibrating track (like a motion simulator) at the VERY most. I'd love to be proven wrong though!
  20. Agreed, these floorless conversions by CF are a really smart way of getting a "new" coaster without dropping $10-20 million. I was really surprised by how great of a ride Rougarou is when I visited CP last summer. I think I only ever rode Mantis once or twice, but now Rougarou is a must ride every visit. I will say that I hope Riddler remains a stand up though because it's a pretty awesome coaster and the stand up gimmick just works on it. I agree about Riddler. In my opinion, Riddler and Scorcher should stay stand-ups, and the rest can either go floorless or get scrapped lol
  21. Wow! They actually acknowledged the ride. Very interesting they would release that video on April 1st, though...
  22. Looks good. This ride will never make anyone's top 10 list, but it sure seems better than Vortex (and looks WAY better... that yellow and purple was ugly). It looks like it could be a perfect "first looping" coaster for kids due to the mild height, speed, and number of inversions. Although I guess the 54" height requirement refutes that idea... Super excited about the future at CGA. Patriot looks like the first step! Thanks for the report.
  23. I personally find Tatsu to be smoother than Batman, but Batman is not rough by any means. Something about B&M Inverts make them stay smooth for a really long time and I have no idea why. It definitely is the hidden gem of the park that gets easily overshadowed by much more prominent rides. But like coasterbill said, that applies to every park with a Batman clone!
  24. I'm really hoping it opens during the festival, but I'd be happy with late April / early May as well. I'm almost certain it will open before Memorial Day. It appears they just have to touch up the ride loading area (gates, maybe grass or flowers) and get the ride's operating system all set up. Luckily the queue is ready to go since it was formerly Windseeker's, so that saves a step. I've said it way too much, but I'm thrilled to get on this thing, especially since it's a "supersized" version!
