Nice report! I love all the theming they included with the ride. Six Flags seems to go a little above and beyond for their Joker rides. Also, we have all had encounters with enthusiasts like that. Most are cool, some are a little weird, and then others are just obnoxious. I just always try to be polite (like you were) regardless and hope we get split up. That's one of the main reason I avoid enthusiast events and even don't own too much coaster merchandise. I would SO much rather enjoy a day at the park with my "GP" family and friends than other enthusiasts. I just don't have fun around other (crazy) enthusiasts. All of the questioning, explaining, "have you ridden this?" and "have you been here?" questions. It's just exhausting. Glad to see you still had a good time though and didn't let that ruin your day!

Remember when we saw "leaked plans" for a GCI at Six Flags Fiesta Texas back in 2017, then they announced Wonder Woman out of nowhere? I imagine this is a similar situation. Either this is an attraction coming years down the road or it was simply a proposal that never came to anything. Either way, Cheetah Chase looks great. I'm not a big water park person, but when I finally get the chance to visit Holiday World you bet I will spend a great deal of time riding their water coasters!

^It's peak summer season. When else would SFMM do essential maintenance on their coasters? In the off-season? LOL. In all seriousness, I am heading to the park this Sunday for the last time until November or December. I have no expectations of X2 being open or Twisted Colossus running three trains, but I'm still looking forward to a good time. I'm mostly excited to check out West Coast Racers construction.

What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?

A night ride on GhostRider at Knott's last night. What an incredible coaster! -
What are your TOP TEN COASTERS
thrillseeker4552 replied to ddaver177's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
After my two major coaster trips this summer, here is my most updated list. 1. Intimidator 305 2. Skyrush 3. Fury 325 4. El Toro 5. Maverick 6. Kingda Ka 7. X2 8. Twisted Timbers 9. Twisted Colossus 10. Railblazer -
You should have no issues getting in plenty of rides on I305, assuming it is running without breakdowns. When I was there a couple months ago, there was never a line, but it was down for almost a whole day on one of the days. Intimidator is definitely a back row ride for me. The first drop and turn is fantastic in the back row, and the ride is just so intense from top to bottom. It is my all time favorite roller coaster. If you are prone to blacking/greying out, make sure to clench your butt cheeks on the first turn. It sounds silly but I promise it helps! Sometimes it's unavoidable though. That coaster is bonkers. Twisted Timbers will likely have a line, and unfortunately the operations are terrible (or at least they were in June). The whole red/green card system is completely stupid and the operations are so slow they may as well have bins in the station. But the good news is (based on my visit in June) it seems to run pretty consistently with no big breakdowns. I like RMCs pretty equally in the front and back rows. Both have incredible airtime and have their pros and cons. Try both! Dominator is always quite popular since it is in the front of the park, but since you are there in the evening you shouldn't have an issue. Make sure to ride in the front row. That is always the best seat on Floorless coasters. As for the rest, just ride them as you see them. I can't imagine there being any massive lines when you're going, unless the weather is just absolutely beautifully perfect, then they might be a half hour at most lol That's just my initial advice based on my 2017 and 2019 visits. I'm sure a local could tell you more.

I can't imagine this much teasing leading to a small flat ride like that. My guess is either a large, unique flat ride of some sort or (dare I say) a roller coaster. He keeps saying "not ONE here" implying that it is a single ride/attraction and not an expansion or new area. I would say that thinking this is a roller coaster is kinda crazy since they just got Wonder Woman, but then I remembered how they built coasters in 2013, 2015, and 2018, so saying they might build one in 2020 isn't too far out there. Six Flags really spoils this park quite a bit!

Roller Coaster Queues
thrillseeker4552 replied to kk's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Lagoon is on the opposite end of the spectrum. None of their major rides have any significant queue space. On any mildly busy day, lines spill out on to the midway and it is rather irritating. If they were a very compact park like, say Grona Lund, I totally get it. But in many cases, there is more than enough room for a cattle pan queue line. Even when they built Cannibal, knowing it would be insanely popular, they barely built any queue space for it at all when there was plenty available (especially if it went more towards the coaster so guests could actually see the waterfall and cool theming!). Instead, if the crowds are anything significant, the line just takes up midway space, especially if it's a VERY crowded day. Just kind of bizarre. -
What is your favourite album ever?
thrillseeker4552 replied to FallOutBoy's topic in Random, Random, Random
The album "This Is Acting" by Sia is basically the only album where I like (and frequently listen to) every single song on the list. And "Teenage Dream" by Katy Perry is just so iconic in so many ways, mostly for nostalgic reasons for me. -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
thrillseeker4552 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This was my first thought as well. If Cedar Fair were to roll out membership programs, I would expect it to work very well at Knott's as well as their almost-year-round parks like CGA or Carowinds. But Cedar Point is open 6 months of the year, so I am interested to see their approach to this. -
I know we all like to crap on Six Flags for many things, but one thing I really credit them for is their efforts to maintain classics. They have several '70s Schwarzkopf coasters still in operation like Revolution, Mind Bender, Shockwave, and Whizzer, plus several flume rides, an Arrow Suspended, several Arrow loopers, a few sky rides, etc. Props to them!

Finally? Maverick Storm Runner Xcelerator Cheetah Hunt Dragster Kingda Ka Volcano (RIP) Wave Breaker Technically any of the impulse clones. That said, yes this looks awesome and may finally get me back to that park; my last visit was the year they removed BBW. You forgot Top Thrill Dragster... ya know, the first launched Intamin A) Who cares? B) No he didn't. Not to beat a dead horse, but what I meant to say was "the US is finally getting a major Intamin coaster in recent years, since the last major one built in the states was Skyrush 7 years ago, and the last major *launched* coaster from them built here was Cheetah Hunt 8 years ago." TLDR; it has been a longa$$ time since we've seen a major Intamin coaster of this caliber come to the states and I am very excited. But I digress. This ride looks awesome. I've never been to BGW, and this coaster makes the park even MORE on my radar than it already was.

What is your next park?
thrillseeker4552 replied to onewheeled999's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Knott's Berry Farm on Monday the 5th, unless I manage to squeeze in a trip to SFMM before then. -
I think this is your issue right here. I have never ridden T3, but I have ridden rides that are notorious for thigh-crushing (Skyrush being the biggest one). I even hear people complain about Mack Rides restraints and Gerstlauer Infinity lap bars crushing them. If you push the lap bar as tight as you can when you load in the train, it won't tighten during the ride. I think what causes tightening is people leaving tons of room, then the G-forces slamming the restraint way farther down than you could push yourself. If you tighten it yourself at the beginning, you won't have issues. Again, I have not ridden T3, so maybe that coaster has completely different restraints and I don't know what I'm talking about, but on rides like Skyrush, Copperhead Strike, HangTime, I305/Maverick/Fahrenheit/Storm Runner, etc. that are famous for "thigh crushing," leaving tons of room in the beginning is exactly how you get your thighs crushed. I close the restraint as tight as I can myself in the beginning and have never had a single issue with "thigh crushing" on any of those types of rides. Just my two cents. Everybody's experience is different, and everybody has different body shapes, so there is no "universal" rule. I just laugh when people complain about thigh crushing but leave tons of room on their restraint in the beginning. That's what causes it in the first place! Sure, not everybody wants a super tight restraint, but tightening it yourself will never be as uncomfortable as the ride doing it for you!

The blog post on Holiday World's website specifically states to not expect a Thunderbird-level announcement. A launched water coaster from Intamin definitely feels Thunderbird-level to me. That is, unless they said that to lower our expectations and make us more surprised at the announcement... Also, Holiday World is incredibly secretive and good at keeping their plans under wraps. I'm not sure I believe those blueprints at all.

Wicked Twister at Cedar Point.

I think the chances on this being a water coaster from Intamin is precisely zero. Giraffica was a huge headache for them. With that being said, I think a water coaster from Mack with an actual roller coaster layout (and not just a lift and drop) is possible. Theme it to some jungle creature and plop it in the old Giraffica plot and you have a winner. Holiday World does an excellent job teasing (as we know from the Thunderbird announcement). Can't wait to see what they have up their sleeve.

Great photos! It has officially been two years since I last visited this park. Seeing those photos really makes me want to go back! I suppose with Kings Island getting their giga next year (plus having not ridden Steel Vengeance yet), an Ohio trip next summer might be on my radar. -

I completely agree. Perfectly said! -
I finally went to Gilroy Gardens after all this time, so I am now proud to say... QUICKSILVER EXPRESS!
