  1. This is starting to make me want the 2017 vs. 2018 discussion to come back.
  2. Maybe they just won't ever announce it and it will just begin operating Opening Day 2017 with no marketing whatsoever.
  3. Why don't they just announce it and not give an opening date?
  4. I'm thinking the track pieces and ledgers were put there by Tony Clark to mess with enthusiasts. So, never from me.
  5. Knotts was MOBBED Saturday night. Shadowlands's line went all the way to Johnny Rockets and Paranormal's line went to Ghostrider's exit. They were pumping people through though. Shadowlands took about 70 minutes and Paranormal was about 80. Tooth Fairy was 5 min or less the whole night.
  6. I could see it be done with an opening around the 4th of July. That way they get one wave of people into the park for the new water park and then another wave of people to try the new Mean Streak.
  7. Aftermath's main problem is that the paths are too wide. It's hard for the scares to be effective when they're from so far away. Overall, other than Aftermath I've been disappointed by this year's event. The actors aren't effective and there are nowhere close to enough of them. At KSF last night I was surprised by the sheer NUMBER of scare actors everywhere.
  8. Knott's Scary Farm is sold out tonight. Lines not too bad. 15 for Voodoo, no line for Tooth Fairy and a little over an hour for Shadow Lands.
  9. Heading to Scary Farm tomorrow (Saturday) night. Just how bad is it gonna be?
  10. After visiting DLR for the past three days, I have to say I like DCA more than DL. I genuinely don't know what it is, maybe it's the fact that DCA is more modern, but I just enjoyed my day at DCA more. I really wasn't expecting that.
  11. Why do people keep trying so hard to photoshop RMc cranes onto Mean Streak? C'mon guys we know it's not gonna happen.
  12. Fright Fest was "dead" tonight. All the mazes were 15 minute waits, tops.
  13. If you have 2 trains, you shouldn't ever need to "go down for maintenance for a couple of months". Just rehab 1 at a time like a normal park. Their problem is that they have so many coasters in the park and so few maintance staff that they can't rehab trains fast enough to where only one train is out at a time. For example, with X2 earlier this year, it ran one train for 4 months even though there was a second train sitting on the transfer the whole time. The problem was that the train on the transfer had reached its cycle count but they weren't done rehabbing the third train yet. So they only had one usable train left. They're usually okay with keeping up with Tatsu and Goliath and TC, but any of their other 3 train coasters will be down to one at some point almost every year.
  14. 3 trains on scream? do any of the coasters at all still have 3 trains besides TC? that's one of the most frustrating things about mm, the lack of ability to even try to run their coasters at capacity. I haven't seen 3 on Scream in years. The last one I saw other than TC was 3 trains on Goliath a couple years ago on a Saturday in the summer. But they really, like REALLY need to try to run 3 trains on Tatsu during the summer. Even if it has to go down for maintenance for a couple months in the off-season.
  15. To each his own always (again... I like Mean Streak), but this is the polar opposite of basically everyone on earth. By the way, I've never found any coaster of any kind "boring". Is it just me? They're not stupid. If they spend 20 million dollars on something the goal would be to build a ride that people actually enjoy. They're cheap but they're not idiots. Ok. Not boring in general, but boring by roller coaster standards. I come off most inverts saying "well that was okay I guess". There's just nothing really memorable about them for me. But I need to get back and ride Banshee. I've been liking B&M's so much more now that they're using the vest restraints instead of the OTSRs. That makes the entire world of a difference in my opinion.
  16. That is what makes this hobby interesting. Peoples opinions vary so much. Because I think Raptor is the best B&M in the park (3rd best ride in the park) and that Gatekeeper is the worst major coaster I have ever ridden. Agree! Yeah Raptor doesn't do much for me. There's nothing wrong with it, I just find it really boring. But that's true of pretty much all inverts for me. The only one I find semi-okay is Silver Bullet. Unless you're in the front row, it's just not all that fun. I only rode Raptor once on my 3 days trip, where I rode GK 6 times and Valravn 4 times.
  17. Agreed! And if the forces are the forces typically found on B&Ms, I think I probably prefer the forceless ones. If we are talking about Intamin however, the more forceful and the more airtime the better.
  18. Well, IMO, Gatekeeper is the best B&M in the park, closely followed by Valravn. The other can't even compete, and I wouldn't mind if they were removed TBH. But I'd say GK and Valravn are within the top 5 coasters in the park, with GK possibly beating out MF. I just like the feeling of flying and flipping around without forces. It's kinda cool!
  19. ^or just do X2 at opening, THEN Superman. While Superman may not be an immediate walk-on, it will be 10 min or less for the entire first hour the park is open, which isn't bad at all. Sometimes I'm even successful with a really short line on Superman when doing X2 AND Tatsu first. And if you're a Gold Passholder, add FT to the beginning of that list. Only go to Superman first if you want to marathon it.
  20. ^ this weekend was busy because they gave every pass holder who renewed a BAFF ticket only valid for this past weekend. Not to mention there was a praise event Saturday as well. Next weekend should be much lighter.
  21. How were the crowds in the rest of the park yesterday? Gonna visit MM today and I'm very curious about the crowds and waittimes today. Thanks! Really busy. I parked right before 8 and I got parked in the second dirt lot. The one further back than the first dirt lot. It actually wasn't that bad because there was a Praise on the Mountain event during the day that had a lot of attendees that were leaving, and they weren't letting you take vacant parking spots in the rest of the lot and were making you park further back. The ride lines were a no-go until about 11pm as they were all 60-90 min until then. The maze lines... well Aftermath 2 was 15 minutes at longest the entire night because it's a really high capacity maze... they basically make you run through it at the beginning. After about 10, the maze was a walk on the rest of the night. All the others... not so much. All 3 mazes near FT had 90 minute waits, with Reds Revenge being 30 min with express, Vault 666 was 15 min with express, and Toyz of Terror (didn't do it because it looked waaay too long, like 45min+ with express). Not terrible notnnit great either. You'll be in much better shape tonight!!
