Oh yeah, good callout. I had forgotten about that one too. Look, I'll be first to admit I know next to nothing about roller coasters. If it's not in the Midwest, I probably haven't ridden it. But I do not think it too much to expect that people who care enough to post on a theme park forum about launch systems on coasters in other continents will know about high profile parks in an adjacent state. Context is key here.

Buzzsaw Falls, the Premier coaster, did not have a launch. The launch was entirely S&S's work. It is also the exact same technology that is being used on MaxxForce, so no, the assertion that this is a first of its kind in North America is just wrong. It's literally been in the next state over for a decade and a half.

Oh man, that crazy inversion/drop at the beginning...phew... -
I did exactly the same thing. That's a good way for them to get into the Texas market. Smart purchase. The option on the KC one is basically so they can keep anyone else from re-opening the waterpark. That place is done. Fortunately it's also in a growing commercial area near lots of stadiums, so the land has got to be worth more than $6 million.

What Was the Last Beer You Drank?

Nah, once I'm done it's in the recycle bin. But I did buy several six packs while I was in Texas, to enjoy over the next few weeks. So many good breweries these days with a small distribution radius, so I like to get what isn't available in Missouri when I travel. -
What are your TOP TEN COASTERS
ytterbiumanalyst replied to ddaver177's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It's really fun! When I think about what coaster I have had the most fun on, it's that one. So it's #1. Millie was my #1 before riding Steel Vengeance You're not alone in that. Millennium Force is still my #1 after Steel Vengeance. SV is very, very good, but the end of the day (literally), I wanted that last ride on MF. -

Oh that's awesome! I had no idea they did that. There were several awesome employees at Knoebels I totally would have wood coined if I had known. -

It's never warm enough for that water park. Still a really good one though. Just get a Platinum Pass and go enjoy the cold water for part of a day then head back into CP after that. It's a good time. -
Awesome! St. Louis Zoo is one of the very best zoos out there, and it's free! I love the sea lion show and the penguin/puffin exhibit. Glad you got to see both of those. The zoo was actually built for the 1904 World's Fair, and the birdcage is part of the original fair zoo. It's a lovely and historical exhibit (and the inspiration for the pterasaur cage in Jurassic Park 3). Forest Park itself originated as the 1904 fairgrounds. So you were at an amusement park (the remnants of one at least)!
