  1. Regular Trailblazer is eight uses total. They can be once each on eight different rides, or eight times on the same ride. Opening year for Outlaw Run, Firefall, and Time Traveler they limited it to once per day on that ride, but just for that year. Currently there are no such limits. However, on a Sunday the end of September you will not need a Trailblazer at all. That's the fall crafts festival, and lines are always short for every ride at that time. In addition, this is a pretty religious area, so in general right at opening on a Sunday is a great time to be there, as even on crowded Sundays most people don't show up until 1PM or so. That said, budget for Trailblazer because you should always budget for the skip the line at every park that offers it when you plan a trip, but realistically you'll likely use that money for cinnamon bread. Don't forget the cave tour.
  2. Glad you had a good time, but staying in Randolph? Ooh. Those hotels... don't look great. I usually stay in Liberty, about 5 miles north of the park in a nice suburb. There's a Hampton and a Comfort Suites there that are both good. It's also pretty awesome that you bought a Fast Lane Plus. That brings the total number of those that the park has sold to one.
  3. Ugh, more stock buybacks. I know why companies do that, but it really does hurt the rest of us. Welcome to the New Gilded Age!
  4. Welcome to Missouri! We had a cold winter, but man, if a New Yorker says it's cold....
  5. You can rent a tent site at the KOA near Six Flags for $49 on non-peak dates. We do that pretty often.
  6. I disagree. There is exactly one hotel within walking distance, and that's the Hilton Garden Inn. Everything else is across I-5 or else on another exit from I-5. That's not saturation. Compare that to Great America, where you have seven hotels in walking distance, two of which are on the same side of the street as the Six Flags entrance, so you don't even have to cross Grand Ave.
  7. I'm almost positive that a potential SF hotel would go to Great Adventure. It was genuinely difficult to find a room near there. Magic Mountain would be a good second choice, as there are a few nearby hotels but nothing right there. Great America though? Man, you've got all kinds of hotels in walking distance. I'd hate to try to break into a saturated market like that, especially on a first attempt.
  8. You won't be getting a Flash Pass. On a Saturday. In late July. Cool. Have fun.
  9. Unless I'm in a major city I really never expect much after 10pm. You're in middle-of-nowhere, Ohio. A chain restaurant, a diner (if you're in the place that has actual diners and not places that just use the term "Diner" interchangeably with "Restaurant" and aren't open 24 hours), Fast food or a bar that's not running a crappy late-night menu is the best you can really hope for. Whenever I try to go to Thristy Pony it's closed super early. You could try it but have a backup plan because their hours on Facebook and Tripadvisor don't match the hours that pop up on Google and it seems like they pretty much just close whenever they want. Dianna's Deli & Restaurant says it's a Deli but it looks like a diner to me. We've never been because it's always slammed after the park closes but it exists. Honestly there's just not much to pick from... This is accurate. Sandusky is Lake Erie's Branson, so it shuts down early. I got lucky on my trip there last year and Thirsty Pony was still open after CP's 10PM closing time. They stayed open for about an hour and were pretty full too, not many open tables. But it's a crap shoot; on my previous visit Thirsty Pony closed at the same time as Cedar Point (makes no sense to me, but that's how it is). Good luck!
  10. Cool, been looking forward to this, since I've never actually been up in the Arch ever. I do like the changes they've made since they built the new I-70 bridge and connected the Arch to the line of parks down Market Street that makes for a really pleasant walk downtown. The freeway was always a barrier before; small but significant improvement. Glad you enjoyed the city! Did you get any T-Ravs while you were there?
  11. Agreed. Although I will say that I think Magic Mountain's Rapids ride is the best one I have been on -- I love how wide the "river" is; it has a different feel that the majority of the subsequent ones that went with smaller points, and narrow concrete chutes. Magic Mountain's rapids ride is great, for sure. Although there's one in Anaheim that blows it away....
  12. They would never spend the kind of money it would take to buy that hotel. Forget about it.
  13. ^ Agreed. Most enthusiasts roll their eyes at a Sky Rocket II, but they're all on the coasts. WoF having the only one in the Midwest could be very marketable, and for cheap. It would be a very smart buy for them.
  14. Oh cool, this old thing. Back in Feb 2016 I hadn't been to most of the CF parks, so nice to see it again. 1. Knott's Berry Farm 2. Kings Island 3. Cedar Point 4. Worlds of Fun 5. Valleyfair! 6. Dorney Park 7. Michigan's Adventure
  15. The Courthouse is really great, glad you got to see that. Been forever since I was there. I'm interested to see and hear about your visit to the Arch.
  16. Busy. CP is always busy. No single rider lines AFAIK. They do have a Parent Swap program, and you'll need to go to Guest Services to use it. You can read how it works here: https://www.cedarpoint.com/help/hints-for-families
  17. Glad you had a good time. I agree with your assessment of all the coasters. Shivering Timbers alone is worth the trip to Muskegon, which is good considering that nothing else is worth traveling for. Once you're there though, they do have a handful of other enjoyable rides, and you can make a day of it. Certainly there are better parks, but you're not going to have a bad time at Michigan's Adventure.
  18. Oh wow, that's pretty cool. I knew it came from Vancouver, but hadn't seen a photo of it at the Expo. I concur with Bert though. I first rode it in the early 90s (whenever I hit 48", not sure what year that was, we went up there every year with my aunt and her family). Even at that point it was not good, and it's only gotten worse since then. Boomerang is a better ride at the same height restriction. I'd rather still have Big Bad John, tbh.
  19. The lockers at SFoT are big enough for a small backpack, definitely not big enough for a carry on suitcase. Yes, there is free wifi at DFW, with all the quality of free public wifi.
  20. Glad you had fun, despite the shaky start to the hotel stay. Sounds like you got someone who didn't really know what she was talking about and was trying to say something to make you go away. Fortunately not everyone is like that! Lumiere Place is very popular, and they've done a decent job trying to turn the waterfront into a pleasant place to be. When I was a kid, everything east of the freeway was industrial. We eventually got sick of tourists asking "why is that green goop factory next to the Arch"? Maybe they'll eventually fix up the rest of it too.
  21. Ooh, I like both those names a lot, as well as the the Marvel Cave theme. I know you know this, sdcfan88, but for the community at large here, the Mystic River Passage is a section of Marvel Cave that has never been fully explored. It goes back a ways and eventually becomes too small for a person to fit. So we don't know what's back there.... Now doesn't that sound like a cool idea for a ride?
