  1. People hate on Soarin'? WTF? Why? Got me. Probably it's not a coaster. People kept telling me to skip it, and I'm glad I didn't listen to them. It's fun.
  2. ^ Yeah, Rolla doesn't really have a whole lot, just some chain restaurants. When we're up there we usually just eat at Panera.
  3. Great report, great pics of SFStL, and a nice shout out to Rolla. My wife grew up just a few miles from there, so we're up there pretty often (just this past weekend, in fact). I've never heard of Nancy's. Their website doesn't list a Rolla location, and Google Maps hasn't heard of it either. You mentioned it's in walking distance of the Hampton; is it on 63?
  4. Really? I mean, you might not be a fan of Brian Regan's comedy, but he's not nearly as bad as Trump. ^ Definitely gauchos! VR or AR?
  5. They ran all 3 trains on opening day. They wouldn't have done that if they weren't all certified.
  6. Awesome report on Epcot. Glad you liked Soarin'. I was super impressed by that ride at DCA--I assume it's basically the same in FL. It gets some crap from enthusiasts, but this is why you don't listen to enthusiasts. I thought it was way better than the Simpsons ride at Universal that does kinda the same thing.
  7. SDC this weekend for Season Passholder Appreciation Days (ERT!), then SFStL whenever they get the new slide put together.
  8. Yeah, Skyrush is far worse on the thighs than OR, although neither are really that bad. Glad you got to ride OR so much. Best coaster ever.
  9. No, it's not pitch black, and neither is Wildfire. Powder Keg is pretty dark, but Outlaw Run is out in the woods, can't see your hand dark. You did get to OR, right?
  10. Oh wow, I've never seen them do that before. I've seen lines out the end of the queue at closing and never had a problem. Maybe something new this year?
  11. I love that line of reasoning. Anything that packs a punch can now be called a roller coaster, including Chuck Norris. Does this mean that Mike Tyson also has bite? Yes it does, but that means he's not a roller coaster. It's a great classification system. Good job, Six Flags!
  12. It's important to understand that state inspectors do not make it up as they go along. They simply enforce the laws. In the pdf, they state things like this: So they're going to be looking for those three things, and they'll check off whether they are in place. In this case, they were not, and it has been noted as such. My only experience with inspectors is in the food service industry, but I can't imagine the procedure is much different. They go in with a checklist to see if the business is complying with the law, and they write down what they find.
  13. Check the hourly forecast, not the daily one. As it gets closer to time, NOAA gets more accurate, and day of they can tell you the storm is say 3-5 today and you can plan around that. NOAA hourly for Cedar Point Works for any location in the US, since it's a US government service.
  14. Oh nice. I had one of their IPAs at Coastermania, and it was great. Hopefully this one showing up here means we'll soon have more varieties. That's what happened with Founders a couple of years ago, and now just about every place has several varieties from them, and a few bars have even started carrying it on tap.
  15. I didn't like it, was far too sweet. My wife thought it was good but had too bitter an aftertaste. She usually likes sweeter drinks, but seems like they missed their target on this one.
  16. Never been to either, but Tokyo, because I'd rather go to Japan than China. Lazy Susan or Black-eyed Susan?
  17. I love that line of reasoning. Anything that packs a punch can now be called a roller coaster, including Chuck Norris.
  18. Fire in the Hole, Silver Dollar City, Branson, Missouri.
  19. Just watched that video, and the difference is remarkable. I think I'd probably love this coaster, though realistically it'll be about 15 years before I have a chance to get to England. Icon looks really fun, and I'm sure people in northern England are going to love this.
