  1. No. It's the basics of Maverick's (and mega-lite's) low-to-the-ground layout, and with Millennium Force's first hill. Maverick, Millennium Force, and Intimidator 305 all ride completely different. Plus I'd rather travel to CP, as there are more rides worth traveling for as opposed to KD.
  2. I'm doubtful if that image has any credibility. BUT....this does seem like something Six Flags would do. Place 25-50 rooms in the center of the park everyone will notice it, and advertise it as "sleep inside the park." That will increase demand, and with the low number of rooms, the price would skyrocket well beyond a hotel of that stature. Six Flags dishes out the money for a 2 star hotel, and can charge a 5-star price.
  3. Looks like a new haunt for ValleySCARE. Signs of Renegade were present by at least June 2006. Since this is just two months off, it could end up being something significant, especially considering the anniversary next season. However, I'm doubtful.
  4. ^I've always found that section of MF to be quite awkward, visually. Although it doesn't detract from the ride experience at all. I actually find it to enhance the ride experience. It resets the G's back to one, and then slams you into a powerful overbank, quite the finale. Given the short length of the segment, and considering the speed the train traverses it; I couldn't imagine anything significant being placed there, and that's probably why it was left straight.
  5. Why does the name need to be changed? Yes, someone passed away at the park, but what does that have to do with Valravn? Please feel free to elaborate on this transparent argument. This entire "rumor" about the name change is based on nothing but the smoke coming out of a delusional enthusiast's ass
  6. This whole "100th coaster" argument is quite silly. Every racing/dueling coaster is considered one. You can count each side as a separate credit if you wish, but the entire coaster is still one. Gemini has two separate tracks that differ in many ways, but I still consider it as a single coaster. Other dual/racing coasters may differ to a more extreme degree, but it still doesn't change the fact that it is a single attraction, with two key features.
  7. ^They could be building a structure around it, and theme it to a crashed spacecraft in Alaska. "Dispatch master Togo transport from Hell!"
  8. Just before the final flat spin, based upon the images released.
  9. That's very concerning. This ride hasn't been inspected recently, or they didn't bother to maintenance the track at all.
  10. It looks like the incident has officially phased out of the Facebook "trends" section, after keeping the top spot for two days. Americans have moved on to the next disaster.
  11. I don't see why anything needs to be changed regarding the (soon to be announced) ride itself. It's better to wait for this media storm to die off before making your next big announcement. Or else the media will inevitably headline "Cedar Point unveils next big thrill ride, only days after man dies at park." Let Kim Kardashian fall down the stairs, and another Donald Trump media fiasco take over the public's attention first.
  12. I suspect a lot of lift stops today for cell phones or any other items that shouldn't be out.
  13. A school teacher risking their life for their phone marks the first "known" death at the park? Not surprised this happened in the age of smart phones with dumb people.
  14. Well, that's just great. We're probably going to have to wait another month just because of someone's dumb decision. It's ironic that this happens to be a school teacher, another example as to why the educational system is failing.
  15. ^Yes, it was near the loop. However, based on the picture released, he was struck just before the train entered the final wing over corkscrew.
  16. People are becoming dumber by the second. It's not surprising that the same time selfie sticks become a thing, something like this happens at CP. Go figure. Kim Kardashian did something again, the media is beginning to flock to her now.
  17. I'm actually surprised by the amount of "common sense" coming from the Facebook comments. They're a bit harsh, but most fall along the lines of "what an idiot", "it's restricted for a reason", and "a phone is not worth it." This is the most intelligent I've seen the GP in regards to amusement parks. And of course there are a few "this is why I don't ride them", "they need more Roller Coaster Laws", and "euthanize roller coasters." Luckily the latter posts are few and far between.
  18. Even if a park employee forcibly stopped him from hopping the fence, I could see the family still suing for not letting him get his phone/waller. Present day America, those selfies are worth more than a life.
  19. They were up earlier today. With a camera pointed directly at Raptor, I can see why their temporarily removed from the site.
  20. IIRC, Raptor's gate injured someone earlier this season. Not a good year for the ride. Anyways, maybe they'll push more 2016 teasers to alleviate this commotion in the coming days?
  21. That last picture confirms a Schwarzkopf Jet Star, interesting.
