I could honestly see a Togo stand up being on display here. -

1) Get a fudging pair of glasses. That is totally readable. 2) If your far enough away you can't read it, your to far to hop the fence... Great work their Sherlock. Let's see, where to begin? Two layers of fences, multiple posted warning signs stating "Warning, Restricted Area DO NOT ENTER" , and a high-speed & highly visible & loud train with screaming riders. You decide to ignore these hazards & hop the fences, ignore the warning signs, to retrieve something that you had no reason bringing on the ride (which is also posted numerous times). You then, by the park's "negligence", get struck by said ride and are killed. The park is somehow to blame due to you being to far from view to read a sign, which should of been clearly visible if you were close enough to hop the two fences. That is her argument. -

I have to agree with this as it does have some truth to it. Cedar Point (at that point in time) was the only other park in the chain that received an investment that large on a single attraction. This was especially risky when the park's revenue is well below Cedar Point's. So yes, it was a risky investment for the park& CF. -

Valleyfair (VF) Discussion Thread

It is a Mondail, it's the only model that matches the specs KD released. Also, the park doesn't have any other Gerstlauer attractions, and parks like to keep the same manufacturer. Cedar Fair has a trend of bringing similar attractions to each park over the years (Windseeker, Planet Snoopy, etc.). So far, we know CF is pushing water, family areas, and thrill rides for next year. I wonder which will be brought to VF? -

If you look a bit closer at the chart, Carowinds brings in roughly 1/3 more than WOF. The Carolina park also has a massive, under-utilized market with a significant potential R.O.I.. Cedar Fair, backed by experienced people with years in the industry, have done their homework and find Carowinds a prime candidate for expansion. If Carowinds didn't have more potential than WOF, then we would be seeing WOF get the $50 million expansion, not the other way around. Actually, it does come from WOF's pockets. Cedar Fair is an amusement park operator, and therefore makes money through its parks. Regardless of who makes the down payment, the park itself does pay off the debt. -

Yes, Cedar Point will continue to get new rides because it makes a ton of money. Yeah, real neglectful of Cedar Fair to keep investing into the park. -

I would say a Screamin' Swing would be my first choice, but seeing how CP has had problems with it lately, probably not. And if it is anything like the Knott's version there might be an extra fee. Nevertheless, I'd still love to see one at KD. -

^Dive Coasters are short & powerful from what I've heard. SheiKra may be short, but it still manages to pack quite the punch. This is definitely going to be a fun off-season. -

^My thoughts exactly. The "leaked" plans show a waterpark expansion & upgrade, some of which taking place on TR's footprint. This should allow for a more expansive waterpark in the future as well. Side note: A lot of people on the Carowinds thread are bashing the removal of TR for the expansion. Even though the park is moving forward with the accelerated growth plan, the removal of an outdated coaster for the re-invention of an outdated waterpark isn't appreciated at all there. Spoiled enthusiasts... /rant -

It is an icon, but Carowinds' Thunder Road was an icon and was demolished... Thunder Road was based on Rebel Yell, which is based on the Racer. It's safe to say that Racer has more significance to the park, and the industry than a mere clone built years afterwards. -

^You are correct. Trucking companies are like the postal service. You place an order, select a carrier, and then they deliver. -

Racer is an icon for the park, and can be enjoyed by everyone. I can't see a i-box transformation, but a topper-track refurbishment seems possible. That would allow the coaster to remain the same (layout wise/family friendly) and cut down maintenance costs. This would also allow for the ride to be super-smooth, and would carry more speed throughout the ride (better airtime, etc.). It could possibly get a repaint too. Honestly, we might see a complete Coney Island overhaul, similar to the Gemini midway at Cedar Point last year. -

Most Overrated coaster?
JonnyRCT3 replied to BlackWidow's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Intimidator 305. It has intensity, and....that's it. Not much is offered on this coaster. No airtime, no variety, no surprises, just the Goliath's helix played in loop. That by itself is fun. However, I don't find that "top-tier" material when that's 95% of the coaster's layout. HIGHLY overrated. There are much better coasters in the vicinity. -

I've read that there is a fenced area recently put up outside the park, similar to where the Maverick track pieces were being "hidden." Is this true? If it is then that could possibly be the destination of this ride, for the time being. -
