  1. Wow, very well designed and it has a friendly interface with more information than the original site ever had.
  2. ^Mighty Bluegrass Shows was running the fair. I assume the same ride lineup tours around the country, eh? MSPaints to still come soon though. Meanwhile, this crappy post will be my 2000th crappy post!
  3. Careless Parents... After school, my friend, Kelvin, had his mom drop me and my friends off at the fair for a few hours. We had a great time until the end of the night when Kelvin's mom was supposed to pick us up. For at least an hour, it was Kelvin yelling at his mom and dad to resolve their differences and get his mom down to pick us up (I was especially pissed since my Dad wanted me at home at 9 PM and Kelvin's mom had my backpack). In the end, my Dad took my friends and I home, got my stuff back, and then I had a deep thought... Why me? I had an ideal home life with caring parents that never had fights and end up being in a crossfire over custody, etc. Meanwhile, I have several friends that are down in the dumps, either due to money problems or fighting parents. I feel sorry for them, yet I kinda feel crappy myself asking "Why am I the pampered one while other kids have more serious problems than me? Why me?" I guess I value my life and my family more now than ever before because of this.
  4. Kristina, She Don't Know I Exist - Streetlight Manifesto.
  5. Other things of note in Florida, the other freak state... 1. The Two Seasons- Florida is of course, warm, which is why parks are open all year. But Florida is wacky as usual. The two seasons we have are "Fall" and "Hell (aka Summer)." Fall lasts anywhere from like, late October/early November to around March/April. Weather is usually dry and nice, not too hot, not too cold. Oh yeah, and after living a long time in Florida, you'll end up thinking anything below 60 degrees is "freezing." Hell is anywhere from May to September/October-ish. Doesn't seem bad when it just says 88 degrees, right? Wrong... add the always sticky and muggy humidity and its guaranteed to feel more than 100 degrees and you'll sweat bullets just by sitting outside for five minutes. Either be in an air conditioned place or in a body of water, other then that, its Hell... 2. Snowbirds (also referred to as "Season")- Pretty sure anybody living in the South gets these folks from up north (Usually Ohio, Illinois, New York, or Ontario) to come congest up our roads with their big, oversized piece of crap Lincoln Towncars and live in houses they only stay in for like, 3 months, then head back up North. I also prefer to call these people "Weather Wusses" as well. They can't handle blizzards so they head South, yet when Hell comes around, they leave (possibly due to the heat or "OMG, HURRICANES!") Oh well, just a few more weeks til Hell comes! 3. Driving- In Florida, driving is hell. You have some strict cops for speeding, some roads are always congested (see Interstate 4). Then of course, you have old people driving Lincoln Towncars with the stupid Q-Tips behind the wheel. 4. Lovebugs- Your Windshield's Friend!- Every May and every September or so, we get swarms of critters called Lovebugs that come out and turn our state into a giant orgy for these things. They are a pain to deal with, especially on cars where the bugs' acid could make your car look like a rustbucket in no time. This bug is probably one specie of bugs that shouldn't exist. All they do is just have sex (wish my life was like that ) and then die on a windshield. Again, major pain in the butt that comes in two times a year.[/b]
  6. This has to be a joke, right?
  7. Almost right, another reason, the Japanese are very safety concious. Should in an event of when a train stalls or a disaster occurs, the passengers could easily get out of the train without having to worry about cherry pickers and such.
  8. Since I didn't have a camera or a camera phone, this is close as we can get to experience the wonder and the awesomeness that is the Sarasota County Fair. An event held every spring when FLAT RIDES ARE ACTUALLY IN FLORIDA! You saw right, flat rides and Florida in the same sentence! Anyways, the day started off right after school. Crowds were light, even on free admission for students day on Monday (maybe that is why? Oh well) and that meant a crapload of rides and this fair had THREE CREDITS TO WHORE! So, first off, we rode the traditional Starship 3000. Its your basic Wisdom Gravitron ride and its good fun. After that, we rode Thunder Bolt, your usual Himaylaya knockoff that was alright. Then after that came credit number one of the day, some Zyklon knockoff... "Roller Coaster" - 4/10 Roller Coaster is some aging old mini Cyclone knockoff that looked rickety like most carny coasters. I can say for sure that this isn't a Schwarzkopf (thank god) but probably either a Pinfari or maybe a SDC version. Whatever it is, it was fun, but didn't have crazy forces or anything to write home about other than "LOL, NEW CREDIT! " After riding credit #1, we then proceeded over to the Bumper Cars, your usual Bumper Cars. Then after that I went over to the fair's "signature" attraction, Big Ben. Big Ben - 7/10 Big Ben is basically a tower ride (A.R.M. ?) that shoots you up and down, giving some pops of air and holds you up for a LONG time. I liked it though, it was a hell of a lot better than Dr. Doom's FearFall at IOA! Following Big Ben Dover, we rode some Pirate ship ride that's nothing to write home about. But then, we rode the fair's two premier Zamperla flat rides... Power Surge - 9/10 Probably the second craziest flat ride I have ever ridden, ever, was Power Surge. A store-bought Power Surge ride from Zamperla, this ride barely flipped (which was the only con), however, the ride disorients you easily and makes you want to scream for more. Maybe the one at Cypress Gardens runs a better program... Nitro - 2/10 After riding the awesomeness that was Power Surge, we rode Nitro. Nitro is some Frisbee wannabe that had little to no spin on it and didn't go that fast. Overall, this ride was a huge disappointment for me, I figured this ride would be slightly better... Then after riding the Zamperla collection, we also rode the Wave Swinger and did some crazy crap in the hall of mirrors. But then, I rode the greatest flat ride nobody has heard of that parks should seriously invest in. Extasy - 9.5/10 Aside from the usual man-crushing OTSR's (that were well-needed of course), we rode Extasy, which is basically an Orbiter (on well, Ecstasy!) that FLIPS UPSIDE DOWN and spins REALLY FAST. The ride churned out so many positive G's that my legs were about to be pulled out from the sockets and I was about to black out. Whatever it was, it's Red Dawn Awesome! After riding Extasy, we rode Spinout, which was a KMG Fireball, awesome ride on its own and it gets an 8/10. Following the flats came the last two credits, some Wacky Worm and a Dragon Wagon. A mere smorgasboard of credit whoredom! Again, both nothing to write home about and just for nothing but, "HAY GUYZ CREDITZ! LULZ!" At the end of the night around 8, when our wristbands expired, my friends and I headed home and thus ends the Red Dawn Awesome that is the Sarasota County Fair. Its no Wisconsin State Fair , but its better than Enka of course! MSPaints to come tomorrow.
  9. A comment about Peter Griffon: The Ride... The Immelman's have bars on them... I wouldn't be surprised if they were taken out within 2 months of the ride's opening [see SheiKra]. What is the point of installing them anyways if Busch is just going to take them out anyways? Just wondering...
  10. Awesome TR, can't wait to hear more about your trip. Also, about that comment about why the park's name hasn't been changed to "Disney Studios." Most of the locals here still refer to it as MGM Studios. Eh, just a little comment.
  11. A new one for me, yet another GAP ad. I really want to strangle the agency that comes up with GAP's ads. Its the new one with a man and woman dancing around to my main peeve of the ad, that song that goes "Anything you can do I can do better!" Every time I hear that song I want to strangle a puppy. Seriously, fudge the GAP...
  12. I can imagine the movie now... Father: We need frog legs in time for Mardi Gras, Shaniqua, you want to get me some frog legs from the bayou? Shaniqua: Fo' shizzle mah nizzle!
  13. Burn it or ground it up into chili.
  14. Problem is dude, I don't know how to introduce myself to her. I doubt a simple 'Hi' would engage a conversation. And guys, no crappy pick up lines...
  15. How do I beat Bowser? Which system should I buy? Anybody know what this mark on my leg is? Like Circuit City, you got questions, we got answers. If you need a helping hand with life or help with homework, ask a question here and hopefully the wisdom of a TPR member would have an answer to your question. NOTE: THIS IS NOT ASK ALVEY! DO NOT ASK ABOUT THEME PARK/ALVEY RELATED QUESTIONS HERE! This is NOT the Ask A Question/Get an Answer game. Also, like the forums here, keep it PG-13, we don't want it getting too hot in here like TPR Chat! So, to start off, I'll post something that I need wisdom on. Say this girl, let's call her Carrie, I have a crush on her. But, here is the problem. Carrie once in awhile talks to this one girl who is a total a-hole I call Amanda. Would Carrie really take her seriously or not, I was going to ask her out, but I ain't sure... anybody care to help with my juvenile problem?
  16. I've ridden the ones at Sandcastle Water Park in Pittsburgh [boardwalk Blasters]. Those slides are not man friendly, every time I went on those, it felt like I got kicked in the nuts.
  17. Its overcast and muggy outside, good ol' unpredictable Florida weather!
  18. You do know we have a search function, rite? http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21060&highlight=weather
  19. plz add me, lol, dis is bull, i do my hw c?
  20. Feliz Cumplianos, Elissa. Pie is good...
  21. Coke Zero- best diet soda on the market.
  22. I shed a tear for this ride and in a way, good riddance. As much as I liked BTTF, the ride was really starting to show its age in more ways than one. Aside from the roughness and Hill Valley 2015 [where's Mr. Fusion, dammit!?], BTTF had a nice run at the park and I'll miss it just as much as I miss the airtime on Python's first drop. I still hope a Simpsons ride gets installed though...
  23. Knott's Great America? I can not wait for somebody to put an O right next to Knott's so it could say "Knott'sO Great America." This park or Geauga Lake is going to be Cedar Fair's "Astroworld."
