A basic overview of America's holidays. WINTER Martin Luther King Jr. Day- Third Monday in January. Presidents Day- Monday in between Lincoln's and Washington's birthday (~3rd week of Feb.) SPRING Spring Break- Not really a holiday, but schools often have a week (or weeks) off for students around March/April. Can be a bit iffy here. SUMMER Memorial Day is the last Monday in May [considered the kickoff of Summer]. Independence Day on July 4th. FALL Columbus Day- First Monday in October. The celebration of this holiday is dying out thanks to political correctness, so don't worry about crowds around this date. Thanksgiving- Last Thursday in November. Parks tend to get crowded and this is the start of the holiday season.

I think it would be pretty useful, especially if it is your first time at the park and the only time you will be at the park (unless you plan on heading to the park at least once every year). I think the first week of April would be a great time to take one of the tours, because of the spring break crowd. However, don't take the "thrill tour" if you are going to the park on a yearly basis, I'd take it if it is "once in a lifetime."
