  1. I still love Raging Bull. It's not a popular opinion, but it's still my favorite B&M hyper out of the four I've been on. It also has one of my favorite first drops of the 150 other coasters I've been on. Even trimmed to hell, I still love it.
  2. Looks good. I hope it has a really quick lift.
  3. To piggy back this.. There is a little comfort in knowing what you're going to get, but when it comes to SF, that's not always a good thing. This is why I prefer CF parks. "I know what I'm going to get." It may not be exceptional, but I can almost always count on it being a pleasant experience. With SF I also know what I'm going to get... a few good experiences mixed in with an overcoming amount of frustration and marketing. However, I will say that out of all of the SF parks I've been to, SFGam is probably my favorite. I really enjoy their line-up. It's one of the few parks worth the stress to revisit. As for SFMM... I'd rather get a root canal than ever go back
  4. Looks really good for a RCT3 layout... then the inversion?? I'd dump the inversion if I were you. It's pointless and unrealistic, especially compared to the rest of your coaster.
  5. I didn't realize how visible the track was going to be. I'm impressed.
  6. Also, this just in: the track will be a purple-ish red and the supports will be blue.
  7. So.. every other park has a 'western' themed area, but having another park with a Halloween themed area would be a ripoff??
  8. My wife and I can usually only do 2-3 parks a summer without getting tired of them. If we do any more than that we are usually miserable. My wife and I especially get tired of the crowds. We have a system we stick to now. I get all of my credits early. We leave the park early afternoon and hang out in the town for a while. Then we go to dinner, drink beers, and go back to the park. We hang out, drink a few more beers, and ride only the rides we want and hang out for the rest of the night. The morning is for obligation and the night is just for relaxing and fun.
  9. I have a feeling that this park is going to be one of those parks that just gets progressively better and better each year. Maybe not by leaps and bounds, but just constant crowd pleasing additions in small doses. I doubt there will be many "wtf were they thinking moments", throughout the coming years.
  10. That thing would have turned my pants into a bag-o-crap
  11. I've been to Six Flags: St. Louis, Fiesta Texas, Magic Mountain, Over Georgia, and Great Adventure (years ago). Six Flags Great America is by far my favorite.
  12. +1. This also caught me off guard. I think the orange is going to look even better when the trees get green.
  13. But Schiltterbahn New Braunfels is amazing! It does depend if you prefer slides of the river style rides though. I can understand what you mean. Back to the coaster! Of course they have to put this in the year I move really far away and can not afford a TPR trip the summer of. It was neat when my wife (then girlfriend) and I went a few years ago, but I think the reason I didn't really care for it was the crowds. Maybe I caught it on an unusually crowded day. Oh, I get it. It's funny because... it's a shot... at B&M... good laugh..
  14. I'm not much for water parks, but you'll love Splashin Safari. I personally prefer it over Schilitterbahn.
  15. I would imagine that area will mostly be reserved for future water park expansions. The more I look at banshee, the more I feel like it may be one of the best looking B&M's ever constructed. Speaking purely from an aesthetic point of view.
  16. You're probably going to have a much more better experience if you stay away from the train. We have problems at our local Amtrak station constantly. Drugs, fights, weapons, you name it. Just my two cents. Google maps says you could do the trip in four and a half hours via car, if you live in Moneka, IL. It would likely take much longer via Amtrak.
  17. They will bring in the crowds. The demographics are similar...
  18. It bums me out to think about it. The thrill of the ride for me was always charging through the tunnel face first, while getting pushed back into your seat and looking straight up into the air on the spike. In a forward launch, you can just relax, let go, and feel yourself getting pushed back into your seat. On a reverse launch you have to brace yourself to some degree on the launch and the brakes. It's just not as fun for me. Out of my 150 or so, it was a top 10er in its original form. Now, I don't even really care to ride it. But like I said, most people prefer the reverse launch, so that's the way it should probably stay.
