Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread
prozach626 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Some people actually like to have civilized discussions about the hobby they love. Sorry you disagree. It's an element, period. It's a pointless conversation, since there is no universally defined definition or standard for each element. What this particular element is referred to won't have any affect on the sensation it brings. -

Okay, for those wondering what I am talking about, here is a photo I found in a photo TR, credit goes to "Condor" The hydrant and "stones" have been sitting there without the police car for at least three seasons Maybe I can wreck one of our cop cars and see if my department can sell it off to SF cheap... -

It may come with time. You're already talking in big money in investments this year with the banshee and the retheme to the bat. -

I see what you're getting at, but all of the pieces are the same temperature, since they are being stored outside. As long as all of the pieces expand and contact the same (thermal expansion), nothing will be affected. -

I just don't understand why people say the park doesn't offer much for kids. We may not have as much as some other parks, but I feel like we still have a decent collection. Kiddie coasters are nice, I suppose, but when I was younger I remember considering the Mine Train as a kiddie coaster. I was scared to death of Ninja and the Screaming Eagle, but I still loved the mine train. Just like with anything else, I feel like what we have fir children is fine, but the standards have changed because of some of the 'giant' parks. I feel like the park has much more to offer than it did when I was younger. -
Diet Mt. Dew 4 months ago. Soda, especially diet soda, is poison. Since I quit drinking soda and staying away from artificial sweeteners, I've noticed sharper cognitive skills, a more stable mood, and more energy. Just offering a little input. Maybe it will help someone.

One thing that Dave did mention was building a shortcut for days when the line is shorter. That's good news. -

That's good news for the Batman paint job. Do you know if they are doing any much needed touch up work to the queue? -

Who gives a crap what it's called? Some people call it a cheeseburger. Others call it a hamburger with cheese. -

I would personally love to see Time Machine go to either St. Louis or TGE. Both parks NEED a stand out MAJOR coaster and while it may not be the best choice, it's defiantly a major coaster that will come at a relatively cheap price. We don't need it at SFNE and VF needs a unique coaster. Yes. Another staple of meritocracy is exactly what would liven this park up in the thrill department. -

Uh?? Intamin Much? I guess not... I love it when people use the name of a company as large and with as many diverse products as Intamin like it's synonymous with "intense ride", instead of actually naming a specific coaster, making it impossible to respond to them. Does Shoot the Rapids whip you into inversions like Batman? Oh gosh, me too. Maverick has very quick transitions. Also, how about GCI? How are those not sudden changes? I'll name specific rides upon request. -

Yes. When I was in my teens I could re ride all day long. Now that I'm almost 30, even though I still consider that young, I can't do that anymore and neither can my wife. In the summer I rode Afterburn 5 times in a row at closing. It was worth it, but I payed for it with motion sickness for the rest of the night. Uh?? Intamin Much? I guess not... You never rode Iron Wolf did you. +1 and I'll raise you one Riddler at SFMM. -

Weren't rides like flight deck and afterburn still considered old school (especially flight deck)? I've never been on either but that's what I thought. CGA's Flight Deck is forceless? Yeah, wtf... Same with Afterburn. That ride has grey-out forces. I loved it when I rode it this summer. There are only a few tame B&M inverts. Right now I can only think of Silver Bullet and Patriot. -

Can we all just stfu on the forceful comments until we ride it? It's like arguing about how fast and fun a car will be by looking at its specifications. (trust me, it doesn't work) Go back to bitching about the color, if you want to cry about something that you can actually judge at this time. -

Time machine is not coming to SFSTL. Not only that, but you don't want it. I haven't heard anyone describe it as anything better than mediocre.
