  1. It ruined my day when I was unsuccessful at avoiding a squirrel while driving. I can't imagine how inadvertently punting a chipmunk across the park would devastate me. Not to mention it might break your foot.
  2. Keep in mind, they are going to have to have a little additional clearance for any unforeseen wild life wondering under the track. Trenches or landscaping will not ruin the ride experience.
  3. ^ Terminator is OK and X2 is worth traveling for, just the one time experience. Other than that, I agree. I had a mostly miserable experience at MM. It would be a bad idea to add another wooden coaster before doing something about the Boss, first. It's not going to happen. I don't even think a forth wooden coaster would nearly as well received with the GP as high thrill steel. Either way, this thread continues to focus on coaster discussion, when the park clearly doesn't care about coasters. Boomerang was the 'big budget' high thrill addition, last year. That will probably be the only new coaster news in STL for a while. Everything else is just day dreaming.
  4. Had to take a detour on a vacation through a muddy back road, in a rural area. Otherwise, I would have had to back track and lose 2 hours at Silver Dollar City. One hobby saved another:
  5. If you still think there is any debate on this, you haven't been crammed in Riddler's station in the middle of the summer. My wife and I couldn't wait to get out.
  6. Since I haven't been in a couple years, I think it's pretty safe to say I don't go. Good point. Eventually I'm hoping better things will come to SFStL and will still continue to support the park whenever I visit St. Louis. The way I see it is if people give up on the park, nothing big will ever come if the attendance can't support it. The good thing is that SFStL has had a good run of new attractions year after year so at least they are adding rides vs. just some show. New or used.....wrong, right, or indifferent at least they're putting in new attractions. SFFT went from getting SKC in 2000 and then really much of nothing until 2007 when they got THBS (same as SFStL) and then Goliath (B:TR) in 2008, Wiggles World in 2009 and then shows until Sky Screamer showed up in 2012 and iRat in 2013 and Bahama Blaster for the waterpark in 2014. Smaller parks will always have their dry spells but will eventually catch up. Thank you for agreeing, and you are exactly right! Things could be so much worse at SFStL than what they are. If someone really finds the park so offensive then why go to the park, and/or visit a thread that is dedicated to discussion of the park? Dont get me wrong, I too have had negative opinions on the subject matter, and I know we are here to discuss and debate and share our opinions, but those who come here with constant negative attitudes in EVERY SINGLE POST, it gets old! I will continue to defend SFStL. To each their own I guess lol! It's called having an opposing opinion. If it weren't for skeptics or realists, the thread would be full of misinformation and "Next year I bet we will get a hyper" posts. Kind of like this one: Your perception is that I'm being negative. My perception is that I am being realistic. Unfortunately, my theory of "We're not going to get anything big anytime soon" is proven year after year, where as yours, not so much. The park is nice. The park has a lot to offer. I can say those two things. One thing I won't say is that I'm going back next year to ride the same rides I've ridden hundreds of times. It's not because I have anything against any of the rides. It's because I literally don't get enough enjoyment out of the park to spend the money. If you want to go back to the park, go for it. Support it. Good for you. However, your overly optimistic attitude can be just as annoying as me saying that we're not getting anything large scale for several years. I will GLADLY put my foot in my mouth and buy some park tickets if I'm proven wrong. I agree with Steve. Many of us are jaded after years of disappointment.
  7. It doesn't matter what anyone would prefer. Our last 'big' coaster investment for years to come was Boomerang. New for 2014 - Aqua Twist... If you want to ride new coasters, go to different parks.
  8. You never know what to expect with RMC.
  9. ^ So you're idea would be to spend money tearing down Boss to put a completely new wooden roller coaster in its place? I'm curious how this would be better than going Iron Horse.
  10. I don't want them to replace T2 if they can get the new style trains. That might make for an OK ride.
  11. The last rumor was that any plans for RMC work was not going to happen.
  12. ^^ Definitely, but at least those fit in with the comics theme. Goliath fills the creative void for naming an intense fairly large roller coaster. It would have been a good name if it were used once or twice.
  13. The Boss, and other wooden coasters like the boss, don't hurt me, but they are incredibly uncomfortable. I don't enjoy getting rattled around like I'm in a blender.
  14. Honestly, out of the two Superman Clones I've been on, I found their pretzel loops to be tighter and more intense. Tatsu's Pretzel loop was larger and more intimidating, but I felt like it didn't pull as many G's. I don't have a dog in this fight, period, as Superman and Tatsu are both boring to me (pretzel loop aside), and they give me nausea. As for KI, go to Firehawk first, if it's open. As opposed to Six Flags with Goliath?
  15. I kind of like his subtle confidence. From a business stand point, I think they still do a great job. They build smooth, high capacity, beautiful coasters that the majority of people enjoy. Also, parks love their reliability. From an enthusiast standpoint, I wish they would push the envelope a little more, like they used to, to bring back some more forces.
  16. "Son of Beast" I lol'd Usually videos like this have a hard time keeping my attention, but this was great. Good format.
  17. I agree. I think Iron Horse would make the Boss a true signature attraction.
  18. It seemed like it stalled out at the end of the season. I think they were using the construction as effective advertising to bring people back to the park next year. Or maybe they caught up to B&M's production.
  19. My thoughts exactly. Maybe this will convince HW to add steel.
  20. The GP loves them, because of the different experience they offer. They differ from flying Dutchman coasters, because they don't beat you to death. I don't like them either, mostly because they make me sick, but I understand their appear.
  21. I've only been on a few Morgan coasters. That being said, I've had a few painful experiences on them. Hopefully this thing is dialed in to provide a smooth ride. Especially the bunny hops. Either way, I'm looking forward to it. The trains still have a little bit of an awkward dated look to them, but much improved.
  22. I've heard time machine was nothing short of mediocre.
  23. Going to Coyotes @ Blues tonight. Coyotes are my #2 team, but Let's Go Blues! Work is going to be rough tomorrow.
  24. Not sure how a GCI caters to teens. It's a small scale wooden coaster, where most teens want something big, fast, and inverted.
