  1. Thanks. I always wondered if it were possible. I didn't know if the LIM placements changed at all. I'm assuming you have never heard anything about it ever going back to the way it used to be?
  2. Welcome. Mr. Freeze used to be my favorite, but the reverse launch ruined it for me. However, most people seem to like it, so I guess it's here to stay.
  3. And yet he still had his job, WTF?!?! Allegedly is the key word. The fact that he has 20 bags means he's probably selling, since heroin is broken down and sold into buttons. I'm surprised he wasn't charged with intent to distribute, unless the news got 'bags' confused with 'buttons', which could the case. Regardless, this is 'merica'. A charge isn't a conviction. The defendant has a right to prove himself innocent.
  4. I'm sure the coaster will be great and I look forward to riding it... but I still can't help but to look at the track and have thoughts of pain or discomfort run through my head.
  5. Nice! I'm excited! Any updates on this?
  6. What he meant is do people prefer negative G's or positive G's. Most people figured it out. I personally prefer positive G's, although I enjoy some nice floater negative G's, too.
  7. It's not finished in that photograph.
  8. From what I heard, the concept Paramount approached Premier (might of been the other way around, not sure) was to have the back of the cars "drift" when it went around a corner, or basically the car part of the chassis would swing out to the side. The tech apparently wasn't ready so they decided to not include it in the final coaster. Premier did end up making a concept that was shown at IAAPA 2010. Apparently the coaster was sold to a park in Abu Dhabi, but have yet to see it appear. http://www.themeparkreview.com/parks/photo.php?pageid=189&linkid=9775&pageno=5 Maybe someone reminded them that front wheel drive cars don't really drift... I seem to remember from my days watching Top Gear that this isn't really true, I remember them being able to drift just about any car they wanted. Not that I know much about it or anything. *going off coaster topics for a bit* You can get FWD cars to go sideways, but it's not 'drifting' in the traditional sense of being able to have a controlled swing of the rear end. You're right in that you can do it, but usually getting a FWD car to go sideways will require a quick counter-steer if the car is set up right, or tearing the crap out of your e-brake. More or less all you're really doing in a FWD car is getting into the turn quicker, but it really ends up slowing you down through the corner. It's way more of a trick than being effective. Drifting is actually pretty silly, but it looks 'cooler' in movies than driving for real speed...
  9. How sure are you that RMC gives a crap about what it's 'classified' as? Wood, steel, elephant shit.. who cares what the coaster is made of, as long as it produces an amazing ride?!?!?! Let go of the nostalgia and try to have an open mind. What makes RMC so great is that they have the ability to think outside of the box. Just relax and enjoy the coaster for what it is, instead or trying to worry about whether or not the coaster is 'technically' wood or steel. The design has an advanced and intimidating look to it, which in my opinion fits RMC perfectly.

  11. I feel the same way you do. It's becoming more and more of the 'cool' thing to do. They are the Six Flags of roller coasters, I guess. You make a great point. The influence could be coming largely from the parks, and not so much B&M. If you look at it from a park standpoint, a coaster is in most cases as smooth as it will ever be the day it opens. It will only continue to become less and less smooth as it gets older. The parks likely feel that if they get the smoothest ride experience possible on day one the coaster may hold up much longer than some of the coasters in the past. You also have to take into account that one of the top heard complaints from the GP is that a coaster was too rough. Hence why even non coaster enthusiasts don't want to ride old school vekomas/arrows, despite how thrilling some of them may look. I personally look at B&M as the Cadillac of coasters. Even though a 'performance' model Cadillac coupe may be fast, very comfortable, and they perform well, they are not always that fun, because they are too refined. They hold up well, they are always beautiful to look at, and no one will ever pass up a drive. However, when it comes down to it you have way more fun flinging the ugly Subaru around the corners, because it just has more 'feel' to it. You may be more likely to break parts, but there's much more excitement during the process. (I had to throw my Subaru bias in there..) Either way, my fingers are crossed that this Cadillac will have a little more feel to it. If not, I'm still certain it will be an enjoyable ride.
  12. Have they tested the clearance on the entire coaster yet, to even start doing a test run? Also, isn't there some digging that still needs to be done around the first drop?
  13. Truth. Rubbing is definitely more of a problem than banging. JK... but seriously...
  14. I think the reason more SF parks haven't gone with Eurofighters after Dare Devil Dive is because of capacity issues.
  15. Tightening vests can also be a comfort and possible safety issue if guests get stuck on the lift or break run due to technical difficulties. When my lap bar tightened on Green Lantern (I know it's not a B&M), the thought of the ride breaking down before I could be unloaded made me anxious. I'm a fit guy and it felt like the ride was trying to amputate my legs. I'd imagine it might be worse for heavier guests.
  16. How busy are Saturdays at the end of April and early May?
  17. ^^lmfao how does that even compare?? Who said anything about gay bashing and why would you even think it would be appropriate to bring that subject up? Well said.....? I don't have a problem. You're the one who seems to get upset over everything I say, when often I'm just voicing my opinion. It's actually pretty comical how you choose to pipe up on almost every one of my posts. Kudos for being predictable. Congrats. I don't like you either. Stop letting the internet upset you. How about getting back on topic and you can act like an adult and ignore my opinion if you don't agree with it? Or are you going to continue to clog the forums with posts of how you don't like me?
  18. Congratulations I haven't been to the park in three years. Prove me wrong and I'll gladly put my foot in my mouth. However, seeing as how our last major steel coaster was in 1998, I guess that makes me right. If you don't like my opposing point of view, 'step away from the keyboard' and ignore it. As people have said before, it gets a little old trying to sift through the fantasy posts for good park information.
  19. A few people in this thread love to discuss dreams instead of reality. Key words: Hyper, Euro Fighter, Giga, Steel, Launched, Intamin, Expansion, Etc. Also, people have been talking about the necessity of a Boss rehab for years, as if it's going to happen. Key words: Ibox, New Trains, Retracking, PTC, RMC Although changes to the Boss are more likely than a new exciting addition, people forget it took us ten years to get the Batman repainted... If you're not on board with any of this you're viewed as being 'negative'. Fanboy syndrome for sure. You have to get good at skimming.
  20. Those were neat pictures. Thanks for sharing your info, Zip.
  21. Yeah, that's like St Louis getting rid of the Arch. The Eagle defines the SFSTL skyline. Only an Act of God will remove the Eagle from our park. Well, since Rolling Thunder was scrapped, Colossus is getting Iron Horse treatment... I am kind of worried about this ride. Let's just hope it will stay there for a very very long time. Rolling Thunder wasn't needed or admired as much as Screaming Eagle. It was very much over shadowed at that park.
