So you would prefer going on opening day and waiting in line for hours as opposed to going a couple weeks later and being able to ride several times with far less wait? I'm not trying to be rude and I know you didn't plan it this way. I'm just curious and I'm asking since it seemed to really excite you to be at Banshee's opening day. I know it's cool to be able to say you rode it on opening day, but it's just not for me. I'd rather wait out the hype and be able to enjoy multiple rides on the coaster with a less crowded park. If I can ride it on it's opening year, that's usually good enough to be special for me. That's just me, I guess.

^like someone else said, do the water coasters as soon as they are available. Don't worry about getting laps in on the coasters. You'll have plenty of time for that. -

Inside the park (Behind Drop Zone), and expect a massive crowd. Damn... thanks. That's not what I wanted to hear. I agree. Viper wasn't bad at all. Vortex is just brutal. -

^Yeah, scratch that. I also just read more about how Koch wanted the Thanksgiving section to be massive. He wanted it to be the centerpiece of the park. This is just boredom taking over from having a few days off and being all caught up on my yard work and house work... -

“As we continue to expand our Thanksgiving section, we look for ways to tie into that theme,” says Matt Eckert, president of Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari. “Knowing the Mayflower was at sea for 66 days gave us the idea to count down the days until we announce our expansion for 2015.” Although this was part of the announcement, I still wonder if the new expansion is going to be a different theme. Especially since we're traveling to "the new world." What major holidays are we missing? -

I'm planning a return trip to KI on (Friday) 06/27 since my wife and I enjoyed the park very much on our first visit in 2012. I'm a little concerned, because two of the Hyatts closer to the park are booked solid, so we had to go with one seven miles away. From what I have gained via google, KI is having a "Spirit Song Festival." Is this something that might draw a massive crowd or is there something else going on in the area outside of the park that weekend? I'd really like to go fast lane free, since we're probably getting twilight passes on Thursday night. Literally every time we buy a fast lane pass or flash pass to avoid heavy crowds the park empties out within a few hours... -
^^ Thanks. I'd be more than willing to spend $200-$300, if I knew I'd use the camera more. We will only be using it a couple times a year, which is why I don't want to spend too much.

"Largest" expansion may not mean it's the most expensive expansion. -
If it's anything like X-Flight last year you can use it twice but the two times you use it have to be scheduled at the time of reservation. Dare Devil @ SFoG was the same way, too. Then I think they tacked on another $15 for the Dare Devil option. Don't look for unlimited flash pass rides on Goliath.

I really do hope you're right. I'm still sticking with my prediction just for the fun of it. I try to avoid being let down. Another lesson learned from having SfStl as my home park! -
I've been looking on the web to try to find a camera that suits my needs and I was getting nowhere trying to filter through the BS about something I know nothing about. Then a thought came to me... Why not ask the people I associate with who take a ton of pictures? So I turn to you... fellow coaster buffs. Can you please offer me suggestions on a camera to buy? Here are my priorities in order: 1) Easy to use 2) Picture Quality 3) Compact 4) Something that will last The camera will mostly be used for vacation pictures. We mostly upload our pictures to our laptop and facebook accounts, but occasionally we like print out 5x7 or slightly larger pictures to have around our house. I'm looking to spend around $100 or so. I want something I can keep for several years. Any suggestions are appreciated! Thanks, Zach

If you have the feeling that you will go to KK and nitpick everything from Landscaping to operations in its first year, why not just wait another year? Some benefits: More dispersed crowds More attractions More experienced operations More established landscaping After a lot of thinking, I've decided to let KK work out some kinks. The park is going to do nothing but get better throughout the coming years. I think some people have expectations set a little too high by for a park saved from disrepair in such little time. As far as unruly crowds go, it sounds like it's due largely to ignorance of local teens. As long as security and local police continue to show these little pricks the door, they will learn how they can and can't act within a large scale amusement park. Security needs to be at zero tolerance and willing to prosecute for anything and everything within the next few years. Especially when it comes to theft and vandalism. taser taser taser...

I'd be very surprised to see the name recycled. It didn't batter it's riders like did, but it's gone because it had reliability issues. Even if it didn't, I imagine they would want to establish a clear distinction between a project of this size and a ride that was just ripped out of the park. ^+1 You're not going to see the same name used. It's not good for marketing. I have to say on day 22... Mack (or similar) water coaster. This is my final answer for the million dollars. Everything about it makes sense. All of the clues point to it and it would be unique to the region, making it highly marketable. It fits the M.O. for HW'S love for water rides, which has worked so well for them, and it's a very family friendly attraction. That being said, I hope I'm wrong. The concept of a Mack water coaster doesn't seem fun to me. I've also out grown wanting to be sopping wet and walking around in soggy shoes for the rest of the day. I don't like to repeat parks without any new major coaster additions so unfortunately this wouldn't be enough to bring us back to HW. I'm crossing my fingers that I'm wrong. -

I thought it was a pretty obvious (and funny) joke, but it looks like a lot of.. quick thinkers... are taking the video serious. lol -
Ouch. The lines for this thing were already going to be absurd. What are the chances they don't include it on the flash passes? Or maybe do like SFMM and make it a $15 or $20 per-ride upcharge on top of a platinum flash pass? It's six flags, so they are most definitely going to up charge it like they always do with their new attractions.

There are obvious images imbedded into the ship. I see two faces obvious faces near the top portion of the plow and several more throughout the ship. I don't think these mean anything. The ship's photo has probably just been overlapped with another photo. I don't see any amusement park clues... just what looks to be an old collage. Basically, what you're looking at is most likely just a mind ****. When I say I think it's going to be a water coaster, I'm not talking about the two that already exist in the park. I'm talking about something similar to a Mack water coaster. Maybe even something with a barrel roll, as mentioned in the clues. http://www.mack-rides.com/en/products/water-rides/water-coaster/wr-wc-picture-gallery/index.html (^sorry, I remember seeing a TPR video of a Mack water coaster, but I couldn't find it) The references to water, so far: "The beauty of the ocean is indescribable." "My worries drift away with the gentle rocking of the ship" "October seas are rougher..." "Speed well twice took on water" "The waves have taken on a darker look." "...the bow of our ship resembles a plow, cutting through the ocean waves..." "The spray of the deck seems colder now at the start of our journey" You make a good argument, but remember, they CHOSE to set the story around water. It's not like the journey at sea is the only Thanksgiving addition reveal they could come up with. There's definitely another faint image imbedded into the picture. It's too distorted and parts of the dog differ from other parts. I will agree that the imbedded images don't seem relative to anything. I think there is some sort of clue to every image, including the cloud. I just think these clues are too obscure and maybe even purposely misleading. On another note, Day 8: the ship gets a new assistant every Monday, the "Liar". Maybe we shouldn't put any stock in Monday's clues? -

There are so many references to water that I can't help but think this is going to be a water coaster. Waves, rough waters, sea sickness, etc. -

Dang, that's a pretty big burn. I hope I'm wrong. Although you have to think with HW starting to ramp up and something potentially modern and thrilling coming to their park, SFStl is going to be forced to make a move. You can't help but to anticipate what HW will look like in 5-7 years with this type of expansion taking place. They are taking a step in the large scale park direction with the competition from KK. If our park doesn't do something, both HW and KK are going to start pulling thrill seekers away from our market. God help us if WoF were to add something more thrilling. This competition should be a good thing for us. One would think we have a better chance of getting something significant within the next couple years.
