The B&M Rattle Directory
rcjp replied to GwaziBSRider1's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Sure, it does have an influence (and a big one). But there must be more. I remember people saying Oziris had some rattle in the year it opened while other inverts like the batman clones (at least some) are still very smooth after 20 years or so. So there might be other factors. -

^I never got any rattle on it either. There were a few other that surprised me too: For example, I think green lantern has a much much worse rattle than superman atraccion de acero and gatekeeper for me was also more rattly. I never got any rattle on bizarro and hydra (although I've only ridden the second in one single day). Dragon khan may not be silky smooth in every seat but I definitely would rank it lower than superman at great adventure. And also, I consider shambhala the smoothest coaster I've ridden (and I've ridden others on the list which were reported less often) so I'm pretty surprised by those 27%. -

By track length and the time it takes to reach the top? And by lift chains number too -

It's still surprising how some of the most reported coasters were Which were all built in the last four years yet rides like Flight Deck which was built in 1993 were rarely reported. -

Doesn't the negative G force between the inflection point and 90 degrees point balance the positive G force? That's the point of having a parabolic shaped "Zero G section" I guess. In theory yes. But remember that even if they do that the positive Gs will have to start before the 90 degrees part as "in theory" (and with no drag) an object falling (with initial horizontal speed) will never fall vertically, which is why a vertical drop will always have to have some air, even if it's not a lot. -

It's not in the animation and I do hope it either is temporary or they will paint it white. Anyway, the ride looks great. I honestly don't know. I mean, it's just as long as MF, the drop is just as steep, it has a more or less the same amount of overbanks and the same number of airtime hills (and don't forget the trains which, in my opinion, are better) Of course we don't know how it will ride but I'm just saying it could very well be as good as/better than MF. -
April 9th I know, I'm odd. It's just that I don't like meat and, therefore, hamburgers. When was the last time you threw up?

Haha, yeah. I wonder at what point (in terms of drop steepness) does it go from airtime to hangtime. I guess that's hard to tell. -
Romon World to open in China
rcjp replied to _koppen's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Based on the speed of the lift on the POV I don't think it will be able to get that much faster. There can/will be some air on the top hat but it would have to go a lot faster to get some serious air. I could be wrong, though. -

Romon World to open in China

This ride could still roll back even though it is indoors. Yes it won't be facing high winds, or super cold temps. However the roller coaster will still have mornings where it has not warmed up yet, so the lubrication in the wheel assemblies will still be "cold" till the ride gets up and running. Do I for see it happening a lot? No? Can it happen? Yes. However, don't forget that because it has a lift before the top hat it is less likely to roll back than if it had a launch as those are a lot less consistent. Lift hills+drop will result in a lot more consistent speeds. -

^Possibly, but they would have to change the shape of the drop if there weren't any trims. -

Yes you would think they would leave a lot more space between each seat if they were new. I think they look kind of awkward, especially the human one. -

^Oh trust me. The ride really is rough. It is by far the roughest intamin I've ridden but it's also full of awesomeness so I still like it although, as I said, I don't blame those who can't take that level of roughness. -

^Is that "semi-support" being held by a crane right now or can it stand on its own?
