Interesting. I wonder it when they're "off" the braking force really is zero or just lower (as opposed to intamin brakes, for instance, where either the fins or the magnets move completely away from the other part).

Coaster Types and Capacity
rcjp replied to Solipsisto's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
One thing is true, though. Although B&Ms usually have better capacity over intamins, during one train operations the intamins are faster due to the shorter ride cycles/fast lifts/shorter distance between brakes and station. -

^I'm not so sure. There aren't many (if any) LSM launched coasters around with 32 seat trains. I can't tell why (probably the cost of launching such heavy trains) but don't forget Thunderbird only has 5 cars. -

Maybe you should have picked a Ferrari or a Lamborghini as most Porsches (at least nowadays) are fairly reliable -

I also find them interesting. When riding shambhala I sent some time observing the wheels. I know, it's very nerdy -

^I actually used parque de atracciones de Madrid's star flyer mainly to find out where the gerstlauer mine train was as I couldn't find a park map. It turned out to be quite good as the views of Madrid were great! -

Your guilty pleasure ride

Why would that be guilty pleasure? Most of them are pretty good and even the ones not so popular among the enthusiasts are okay. -

Perhaps they're waiting for the layout to be complete and the cranes to be "available" to remove it? I don't know. -
Extremely false! The person below me hates Justin Bieber.

Yes. Have you ridden a strata coaster?
