  1. Really depends on the park; Lake Compounce's and Kennywood's at least both run good cycles.
  2. IMO, nothing could possibly make BGW "obsolete." While I305 is an amazing coaster, I'd say Busch Gardens is still the better park overall by far, and every one of its coasters holds up great, even after I305. Of course...I still think Alpengeist is a better coaster than I305, so my view isn't the majority's... Really though, Busch Gardens is just too good a park to not enjoy it, no matter where else you've been first.
  3. Canada's Wonderland a week from Saturday, followed by King's Island and Cedar Point, the latter two for the first time!
  4. Such a great coaster, but...maybe it's just me, or maybe an artifact of the 60 fps video, but it seems to be dragging pretty badly there. Lake Compounce is my home park and I get on BD -many- times a season, and that just looks slow for some reason.
  5. It wouldn't be the first ride Canobie adds in the middle of the summer. Are air racers any good? Really good, as long as you have the tolerance for a lot of spinning! I love them but I know a few friends that usually don't mind spinning rides, and thought that one was a bit much.
  6. It doesn't appear to be listed on their website at the moment...odd. I hope they have it up and running again soon, I don't want to miss it again this year.
  7. Leap the Dips. Don't think I'm going to be able to beat that one. Surprisingly great little coaster! Too bad the rest of Lakemont feels like it's about to collapse into a pile of rot and rust.
  8. Hmmm. A while back the GM of Lake Compounce mentioned that they were looking at other ideas for compact coasters instead of the long-rumored spinning coaster idea there. Someone mentioned to him if they'd consider an El Loco, and he gave a very definite non-answer to that. Now I'm hearing that the new coaster is slated to go in next year (take with a grain of salt, have heard that for a while), and then I'm seeing this... It's a bit of a stretch, but I can certainly hope!
  9. Great trip report! Making me realize though that planning only one day for CP when I get out there next month was something of a bad decision...by the sound of it, even with FL+ and a weekday, it's gonna be a stretch to get it all in...
  10. White Lightning was $3.5 million, and stands with some of the best coasters around, IMO. GREAT deal for Funspot, and really put them on the map.
  11. Canobie Lake Park in Salem, NH has a Rotor that still runs great; no slipping down the wall because it's too slow on this one.
  12. Horrible floodlights removed from Psychodrome? That alone will get me back there this year. That's still a great old flat, and with something closer to the original lighting back, I'm excited to get on it again.
  13. ...build this. Please. Universal, wherever you build this, I'll go. US, Japan, I don't care, just make this happen.
  14. I dunno...kinda a tough pick between this or Weather Channel's list... Really, lots of great new rides this year...can't wait to get on a few of them!
  15. It's very bittersweet, I think. Far better than condos there, but I still can't help but stand there and see what was there and still should be. Makes me so incredibly angry...that park had no reason to close except for pure greed. It would still be there if the park's board hadn't been embezzling away all of its profits. I know there are quite a few people who want to see an amusement park there again someday, including senator Reed, so...maybe there's at least some small chance.
  16. Rocky Point Park in RI, only because it was my childhood. It may not have been much by modern park standards but I loved that place, and some of the happiest days of my life took place there.
  17. When I saw the first releases and renderings for this one, I wasn't too sure about it. Should have known not to doubt Knoebels. They just do everything right, every time. Can't wait til August to get on it myself!
  18. Busch Gardens Florida has Phoenix. As far as the best, it's been years since I've been on it, and I don't know if it's even still there, but Great Escape used to have a really good one. The one at Canobie is amazing now too; after years of being barely able to even move under its own power, the refurb a year or so ago turned it completely around and it's one of the best I know of now.
  19. Nightwing was great, very unique experience back then. I'm not sure if I'd feel quite the same about it now having been on flying coasters, but given how much I still love Lake Compounce's regular old Enterprise, I'm sure I'd still be making sure to get on it. It's so sad to see Huss rides disappearing now.
  20. Oooh, awesome news for me since I'm already going to be there at the end of 2016. I can't wait to find out the rest of the details!
  21. That one's accurate. I live in RI. That's about all we get. That or the waterslides at Misquamicut beach, unless there's a good carnival going on. What I wouldn't give to have Rocky Point back. At least we'd have an Arrow loopscrew and a first gen Intamin drop tower.
  22. I'm curious to see if they got ANY right. Indiana and Kentucky, alright. Massachusettss? Well, it's a bit early to be handing that trophy out but...yeah, I'd go with it anyway. North Carolina, okay, fair enough. I'd maaaaybe give them Virginia. I'd go with I305 well over Griffon but it's at least semi-debatable. Also lmao Florida. Splash Mountain beats Kumba, Montu, Falcon's Fury? I mean, I love Disney, Splash Moutain's fun, but come on now. Definitely agree that this was paid for by Larson or SF.
  23. I was hoping for Central to win the bid, but this is still far,far than Sustainable, or leaving the park is is. I'm sure it's going to see some major improvements soon. Wonder what the odds are of Derby Racer's forward-and-back slot motion restored?
  24. Mach Tower soft opened, too. I happened to be right nearby when the first opened it and got on one of the first rides.
