  1. Nope. It's bright and sunny and a train just went by. Do you mow your own lawn?
  2. ^ That's really too bad. I wish all of you the best in dealing with that. Eric
  3. "I apologize for asking, but what is this?" (GivenOneChance about X2's fog) No need to apologize about this one. When X2 opened last year, one of its special effects was (supposed to be) fog at the bottom of the two raven turns. It was there early on, but hasn't been for quite some time. It appears that maybe SFMM is working to get it going on a more regular basis. If done right, it's a cool effect. Eric
  4. ^ Better you did what everyone wanted. I'm sure you'll get the chance to see the DLR at some point in the future. Eric
  5. ^^ Ho-lee CRAP on that rapids ride! Maybe at some point, some company will build one where the rafts go over the falls! Eric
  6. Very clever captions...I enjoyed this Photo TR. Eric
  7. Six Flags did just fine when they had a few well placed parks in various metropolitan areas. They got into trouble by oversaturating the country, then by trying to TAEK OVR TEH WRLD!1!!! with parks in Europe and Mexico. Downsizing and keeping their best parks is Six Flags' best bet to remain solvent. Also, keeping major expansions to once every two or three years is a plus. Personally, I was fine with my home park (SFMM) adding a major ride every three years or so. When they starting adding a coaster each and every year, I was actually bored with the idea. You mean there's no other worthwhile attraction besides a coaster?
  8. I can't remember when the last one was---or if there ever was one. But I did get an e-mail about the one on September 11, and I just might show up there. At one time, SFMM had special passholder days for new attractions, but the last one I remember was for Superman---The Escape. Eric
  9. Breakfast at McDonald's, $4.32 for the Southern Chicken Biscuit combo with a large Diet Coke. Eric
  10. I went to school with Erin Moran (Joanie on Happy Days). My wife went to school with Johnny Whitaker (Jody on Family Affair). I went to church with Robyn, Eric, and Blake Lively back in the '80s. Are you allergic to nuts or wheat?
  11. I just eeted some chicken.
  12. About the advertising...I understand bringing in revenue, and some advertising is reasonable and to be expected. But when the place starts looking like the trashy part of town with billboards and posters plastered all over and everywhere you look is yet another ad, it takes away from the experience. I think most people go to theme parks to get away from their hum-drum daily routine.
  13. I have no problem with Viper at all. At one time, yes, but I've learned to sit up as straight as I can and keep my head above the OTSRs. I'm 5'-8", so maybe that helps a bit. Eric
  14. McDonald's in 30 minutes. Free fries and drink if I purchase an Angus Third Pounder. But someone can have my fries. Eric
  15. I went in, stated my business, then took off. Eric
  16. ^^ They should have incorporated the center mounted brake light into the roof somehow. I think it'd be better in a higher position. Eric
  17. ^ Because GhostRider has gone to you-know-where. It was one of my very favorites at one time, but it's gotten way too rough for the most part. It has its moments, but they're few and very far in between. Eric
  18. I know I've mentioned it here somewhere, but about ten years ago, I got to take a walking tour of the SC Giant Dipper. Some people don't know this, but a big leather belt connects the lift motor to the chain drive. That's pretty amazing. Eric
  19. ^ That's right. SCBB's Giant Dipper has the very first Morgans. So, yeah, maybe just Mission Beach should get new trains. Eric
  20. Just a quick reminder---SFMM only has a couple of weeks left of daily operation, and they've already cut back closing time to 6pm from 10pm just a couple of weeks ago. Monday, September 7 is the last weekday the park is open till the next holiday (Columbus Day? Veterans Day?). So if you're gonna go and take advantage of the short lines...go NOW. Eric
  21. I have only a few weeks to use two Park Hopper days, so I'd better get on down there. Nice TR, BTW. Sometimes it's nice to be different in your presentation. Eric
  22. ^ I like your No. 2 and have thought about achieving that someday. So far, I've been to all but 43 states. Eric
  23. In one visit, I rode Terminator Salvation---The Ride 13 times during various ERTs. Which coaster have I ridden the most? Probably either Revolution or Matterhorn. But that's all I remember, as I don't keep track of how many times I ride. Eric
  24. We have some nice hills here in the U.S. Too bad there aren't that many---if any---here. I've never ridden one, but it looks like a blast! Eric
  25. Lindt 90% cocoa dark chocolate. Talk about smooooooth... Eric
