  1. Being a fan of suspended coasters, I'm sorry to see BBW go. Unfortunately, I have not had the chance to visit BGE and ride it. . But it does raise the question as to how long Ninja will be at SFMM. If indeed 25 years is the service life of this type of ride, Ninja has less than five to go, being that it's 21 now. At least we have videos of it. And I'm sure Busch has some good plans for the space opened up. Eric
  2. I miss the Hi-Miler at the Ventura County Fair. But yeah, that's one crazy little ride. You could almost swear that Stan Checketts had something to do with that. We were at the O.C. Fair on Friday, July 17, and had a good time. The Weird Al thing was pretty good and I'd recommend it if you enjoy Weird Al even a little. Eric
  3. "...but flames that cook bacon that you can then eat when you get off would take the cake" (atem122) Why should you have to wait till you get off? Bacon, cooked and served NOW while you ride. Eric
  4. I dreamt that Diana's wedding was the next day, and I hadn't even reserved a tux for me to wear! Can I give away a daughter while wearing my 501s? Eric
  5. Nope, and nope. Have you ever slept at a theme park?
  6. ^ Shooting gallery/arcade = bye bye. Quite honestly, shooting galleries that don't use real pellets aren't any fun anyway. Besides, there's already quite enough games at SFMM to keep anyone busy. Eric
  7. Whatever happened to our fellow member, i am legend--in bed? Could he have...overslept? Eric
  8. "And it all starts with the new short, Two Bills to Pay." (Me) I was sadly mistaken. There was a third bill hiding in the pile. And it was a big one. FML. Eric
  9. ^ I rode it not too long ago and didn't think it was bad at all---at least no more rattly than normal. Personally, I like it and couldn't care less about the whole parking lot thing. Perhaps in a future season they could do a retheme, but there are too many more things that have priority right now. Eric
  10. ^ Crowds tomorrow should be nowhere near what they were over the weekend, and getting the Flash Pass is a good idea. I hope you have a great time! Eric
  11. Just a side note regarding seat belts. On many wooden coasters that have them, I usually try to put them up over the side of the train when I get out. That helps the next riders find them and get them fastened more quickly. A few ride attendants have told me that they appreciate that because sometimes they run down the side of the train between rides and pull them out or untwist them. My favorite restraints, as someone pointed out earlier, are the ones in the Schwarzkopf Speedracer trains (Whizzer). Eric
  12. ^ Train 2's audio wasn't working on TPR Termination Day, either. I wonder if it's been working sporadically or if SFMM has just been running it without audio till they could get whatever parts or service they need? For me, the audio is hard to hear during the ride for the most part anyway, and it doesn't add anything to the ride for me. Eric
  13. So now that I got The Sheet Changing Incident behind me, it's time for the equally morbid tale of...Laundry: A Three-Load Night. And it all starts with the new short, Two Bills to Pay. Again, the girls are out, so here's my chance... Eric
  14. ^ I did notice that yesterday, and found it to be quite welcome. However, can/will any improvements be made to the restaurants between I-5 and The Old Road? Eric
  15. I was also there yesterday, arriving about 6:30. First ride was Revolution (with a one-train wait). I tried to ride Ninja, which had been down most of the day, but after testing and allowing guests in, they still couldn't send the train. For me, there was no sense waiting for them to get it going, so I headed down to Terminator. The queue was full, so I assumed about a 45-minute wait, but soon realized that only one train was running. Our wait ended up being 2-1/2 hours. Honestly, I wasn't too smart for waiting that long, but I got to talking to some people in line who had never ridden it and was enjoying the conversation. I felt sorry for one of the guys I was talking to in line who had never ridden it. When he arrived at the loading platform, he was too big to ride and had to sit it out. By then, it was about 10:15, so nothing else was open. Eric
  16. "My birthday is coming up!" (chmilo24) It can't be. I went to your profile and looked. You have no birthday. Mine really is coming up...and I'll be at Disneyland to celebrate. My confirmation for the free birthday visit came in my e-mail, so I'm all set! Eric
  17. ^^ I do that once a week and it was too hot earlier, so I went to SFMM. But putting off a chore till later just assures that it still needs to be done and I took advantage of the fact that no one else was home. Now that you all know the gory details of life at my house, I hope y'all can sleep better...on clean sheets, of course! Eric
  18. What better way to top a trip to SFMM that had a 2-1/2 hour wait for Terminator than to come home and change the sheets on your bed? Eric
  19. This was really a crappy idea... Eric
  20. ^ It's Ray Cammack Shows for the O.C. Fair, San Diego (Del Mar) Fair, and L.A. County Fair. They used to do the Ventura County Fair, but stopped several years ago because of the conflict with the O.C. Fair. They own the Hi-Miler, so if you ever see that at a fair, then you know RCS is working the midway. Eric
  21. ^ If I bring home the bacon, there won't be any left by the time I get to the front door... Eric
  22. A Termination Day Photo TR without any Terminator pictures? Interesting... But it was indeed a fun day! Eric
  23. I just right click on the image to get its URL (which is usually a TPR one), copy it to my new post, and put the and tags before/after it. Eric
  24. I don't eat pizza much anymore, but when I do, it's usually at Topper's, a small Ventura County chain. As for a bigger chain, I like Ameci's. The others are just too commercial tasting. I make a mean chicken pesto pizza with a whole wheat crust, but I haven't for awhile. Eric
  25. Yes, it's called "California." Do you pay your bills online?
