"When does Copenhagen close?" When the sign says "Closedhagen" and turns red. Hope y'all are having fun. Eric

^^^ I don't think Knott's has anything to worry about regarding SFMM copying "Puny" Express. It would be great if SFMM becomes the first Six Flags park to build a dive machine, as they could be very creative and have a lot of fun with the terrain. However, I don't know if Anheuser Busch has any kind of deal with B&M to keep it exclusive to their parks here in the U.S. A good bobsled ride would also be fun and something different than what is offered locally. The old Sarajevo Bobsled ride was about a quarter-mile---too short and too many block brakes on it. (That very ride was moved to SFOT and renamed La Vibora in the mid- to late '80s.) Eric

Now that Aftershock has been open awhile, I got to wondering how it's been running in its new home. Has it been pretty reliable? Eric -
Old Medusa West Construction Photos
ebl replied to PortugePunk's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Very nice photos. Shamefully, this park is just up the state from me and I haven't ridden Medusa. Medusa was just beginning construction when I was there for the ACE Fall Conference in 1999, and I haven't been back in the area since. At some point, I need to take a trip up to that area and hit CGA, Gilroy Gardens (have been there, believe it or not), and the Santa Cruz Boardwalk. Eric -
^ I would guess sometime in the fall. For whatever reason, I can't imagine that next year's ride will be that big, considering that 2011 will bring a major attraction to the park. As much as many people would not want one, I think a smallish spinner or mouse would be a nice fit. That would be one more family type coaster. After 2011...bring on the BIG RIDES! Eric

^ 40 lbs. is a significant loss of weight. I hope you're getting out and doing some walking, as that's great for the heart and easy to do. Do keep us posted. Your journal sounds like it be something that could benefit others. Eric EDIT: If you are walking, try to include some hills. That helps strengthen your heart.

Gas is pushin' the 3s around here. But for some reason, gas is more expensive in the San Fernando Valley than it is here. Usually it's the other way around. Unfortunately, I drive from here to there every day, so I'm using a lot more gas. Eric

^ It's not a "government" thing; usually it's on the local level. In Texas, for instance, there are dry counties, but not all of them are. Eric

"Looks like they need some kind of FlashPass system." (lil jimmy norton) No point in that...they'd sell out in a week or two... Eric -
I'd like to think they'd expand that little two-lane bridge at some point on The Old Road. That's quite a bottleneck. Hopefully some of the residents of those 21,000 homes won't start complaining about "all that noise in their backyard." By the time homes start a-poppin' up, SFMM will be 40+ years old. Eric

Generally speaking, most of the "not on Sunday" laws (closed restaurants, no liquor sales, etc.) were enacted by upstanding church members of the various communities to "keep the Sabbath holy," in accordance with the Ten Commandments. Even the Chick-fil-A restaurants here in California are closed on Sunday, even though little else is. Everyone who observes the Sabbath, be it Saturday for Jews and Seventh Day Adventists, or Sunday like the rest of us, has their own way of observing it. For me personally, spending a relaxing day at a theme park is a good way to do so. Eric

^ Beat you up so bad you lost the use of your Shift key. For me it was the original X at SFMM. Maybe I just didn't know "how" to ride it, but it beat me up to the point to where they could have torn the thing down and I wouldn't have missed it. But I'm glad they didn't because X2 really is better. Desperado is pretty rough, too. Eric

I have not been to Indiana Beach, but it looks like a lot of fun. They've done wonders with the limited space they have. I, too, am a fan of silly signs. You can really have a lot of fun with those. Excellent TR! Eric

Six Flags Magic Mountain Terminator Salvation: The Ride

^ Thanks for clarifying that. Next time I ride Terminator, I'll have to watch for that. I actually gave some thought to going out there today, but decided to just wait till Termination Day on June 28. Eric
