  1. ^ Where is the "third" pre-show room? I've only seen two pre-shows. Eric
  2. ^^ You rode a death swing and lived to tell about it. Interesting... But did you get some good airtime? Eric
  3. ^ And it's going to be outdoors, so if anyone rode it at AstroWorld, it'll be a different experience, I'm sure. Sort of like riding Space Mountain outdoors. Eric
  4. I never went to AstroWorld, but I did have the pleasure of riding Batman--The Escape. Only it was called Shock Wave and was at SFMM! Keep up the great work, Shane. These retro park visits have been a lot of fun! Eric
  5. On my second ride last weekend, we actually went under a train going up the lift hill on our way back into the station. Except for a period where something was wrong, trains passed frequently while we were in the switchbacks. I know that sometimes people have problems with the seatbelts on GhostRider at Knott's, usually because they sit on the belts before picking them up. On that ride, when my ride is over, I unbuckle the belt and put it over the side of the car. That makes it easy for the next person to reach. I did the same at Terminator, and hope it helps. Terminator uses one belt for both riders as opposed to one for each rider on other coasters, so I think that would make it easier and speed things up a bit. Eric
  6. Terminator Salvation---The Ride. Eric
  7. ^ That, and whatever BIG thing they have planned for 2011... Eric
  8. ^ Your last sentence is dead-on right in my opinion. But the facts are, Metro won't be coming back. It's all about money. Any new attraction has to be marketable. The general public will neither get excited nor flock to the park to ride "the all-new...METRO!!!" The money folks at Six Flags would never approve the funds, nor would the stockholders agree to spending money for something like that. In a nutshell, that's the reasoning. I've spoken to Jay and Neal about that, and they do understand. But putting out $12 million (Jay's estimate) for a revamped monorail just isn't wise use of money---especially with the current financial state of the company. And there are more pressing needs for capital improvements at the park, the revamped restroom program being one of them. Eric
  9. "I like the walking at Magic Mountain. It's like a workout and coasters in one." (rawrtotheargh) Being an avid walker, I also treat a visit like a workout. If I recall, I asked someone out there how far it is if you walked all the way around the park and was told that it's almost two miles. I'd like to measure it some way and find out for sure. Eric
  10. It's too bad that teens would rather quit going to SFMM instead of just following the rules and making it easy. I suppose I was a strange teen because I never went through a period where I "rebelled." I do like Disney's approach to security personnel in the park. Obviously it works. Meanwhile, back to Terminator...are both trains identical, or do they have subtle differences to distinguish each one as unique. Also, I didn't notice any train/car numbers on them last weekend when we were there, though they could have been subtle. Eric
  11. ^ Been there, done that. Hang in there---something will come along. It usually does. Eric
  12. Even something like the Seuss Trolley at IoA would be cool. Provided the track is structurally sound, it may well be reused for something. How funny it would be if they got a fleet of quick vehicles going that stopped at all three stations and reopened it as "The Mountain Express." Eric EDIT: Come to think of it, "Mountain Express" might have been a good name for SFMM's current FlashPass system...
  13. "I'm not a big fan of taking care of a potty training 3 year old" (netdvn) That's why we trained ours at age two. Eric
  14. ^ Though a bit exaggerated, that may not be too far from a possible future attraction. At WCB, it was mentioned that there were "some ideas for use of the old Metro track." We all know that Metro isn't coming back as a slow monorail ride because the expense can't be justified for a ride that can't be marketed as a new attraction. But something along the lines of Disneyland's defunct Rocket Rods could work here. And I think it would be fun. Eric
  15. My payment just went in the mail, so it'll be there by Saturday---Monday at the latest. I have ACE Day on June 14, so there'll be lots of Terminator riding during June. Eric
  16. ^ Not going to Coastermania. < Going to TPR Termination Day. V Going to Failmania!
  17. I don't know...this all sounds like a sham to me... Eric
  18. It's running about $2.70 here in Ventura County, but it's closer to $2.80 in the Valley near work. I knew it wouldn't stay under $2/gallon for very long like it was late last year. Eric
  19. SFMM is not getting rid of the Golden Bear Theatre any time soon. It's still used quite a bit from what I've seen. Plus, the park needs a large capacity venue for shows. The Magic Moments Theatre (where we do our TPR events) seats about 1200; the Golden Bear seats about 3400. As for where the next coaster goes, I have a feeling that SFMM will surprise us. Eric
  20. "Very cool! I like how its based on the actual tunnel signage on the ride!" (Wes) Minus the bullet holes. Eric
  21. "Wrecked Toyota...CHECK" (CoasterKings908) Actually, that's a Nissan pickup...and the best use of a Nissan product, actually, in my opinion. Eric
  22. Remember that SFMM caters to the general public, not us. Most of the GP don't have any idea that a Tony Hawk ride exists anywhere else, so it would be new to them. Eric
  23. "...it didn't have loops/corkscrews and was just 'boring.'" (rba13) Maybe when they build Son of Terminator, it'll include a loop. Eric
  24. ^ I have no problem with Subway, per se, but I don't care for deli sandwiches no matter where they come from. Just a personal taste, maybe, but I don't care for cold meat, mustard, mayo, etc. I know you can get hot sandwiches there, but too much meat isn't so good for me. Eric
  25. ^ Knows the truth about pie. < Knows about fruit in a pie. V Knows how to chase a fruit fly!
