  1. Here I am, looking at Theme Park Review, eating my Brach's Sugar-Free Caramels. Eric
  2. EBL = EveryBody Laughs! Eric
  3. I liked when Jaguar! at Knott's had that burst of flame as you passed it on top of the temple. But that was turned off a lonnnnnng time ago. Eric
  4. AllisonY2K said: "good lord, 3.5" disks? how old..." Heck, I still have some 5.25" disks with stuff on them laying around. My last computer had a 3.5/5.25 disk drive on it. Eric
  5. Get a small tripod. We got one and it's come in handy many times, especially for shots using a timer when we all want to be in the picture. But that tripod will keep your camera steady. Eric
  6. Y'know, the more of these Random Trip Reports I read, the more I want to do one. And I'm working on it... Eric
  7. I've only ridden Rock-N-Roller Coaster once, and that was three years ago. Knowing that it is a Vekoma, I was a bit nervous and expected major headbashing, but that never happened. I enjoyed the scenery throughout the ride, and the launch wasn't that bad. (Extremely fast launches like Xcelerator are really hard on my stomach for some reason.) Bottom line: you'll enjoy it. Eric
  8. I won a free Pepsi yesterday. Eric
  9. I got one once that read something like, "May the luck of the Irish smile on you always." WTF?!?!? Out of a fortune cookie? I think it was printed in green ink, too. Eric
  10. I got that game back in about 1994. It was actually a lot of fun. I made a Superman--The Escape ride where the car went off the top of the track on purpose and crash-landed on the other side. True, it isn't state-of-the-art, but for its time was a lot of fun. I think I can still play it, but I'm not sure. Eric
  11. My one and only ride on it was in March 1999. At the time, I paid "only" $7 to ride. For whatever reason, I don't remember it being THAT rough, but I was not impressed at all with the end of the ride. It was boring. The twist-and-dive is an element that I'd like to see other manufacturers do, but I don't know if TOGO has it patented. As much as we pick on TOGO, I have to admit that their vertically adjustable OTSRs really aren't that bad. Unfortunately, they didn't do those on Knott's infamous Windjammer (thankfully RIP---that is, Rusting in Pieces). Maybe sometime I'll take another ride on it to see how it's aged. But it doesn't sound like it's aged too well based on the reports I've read. Eric
  12. ^ Needs a new life. < Needs a new wife. V Needs a new belt!
  13. Go back far enough to get my dad to stop smoking so he wouldn't have died so young (age 60) and would have gotten to meet and know my daughter. Do the same thing for my sister so she wouldn't have died so young (age 37) either. Go back and work harder on my marriage. (It's probably too late now.) Finished my college education so I would have better job opportunities. Take more risks in life instead of passing them up. Eric
  14. Nice TR! I'm glad you enjoyed your visit to our county (Ventura). It really is a nice place to live and we're happy here. Eric
  15. ^ Likes his sleep. < Loves his sleep. V Loves Pontiac Azteks!
  16. To the best of my knowledge, the only single rider line at SFMM is for Déjà Vu. I wish that would change, as they'd get more people through lines with more of them. Eric
  17. ^ Most of his visitors wouldn't be tall enough to ride one! Eric
  18. I've logged two rides on Déjà Vu so far. At first I wasn't impressed with it, but my last ride really wasn't bad. I think if you can ride the outer seats it's better. What I don't like is hanging there while you're pulled up backwards at the start of the ride. Eric
  19. North Hollywood High School, 1977 B.C. Eric
  20. Is that a pepperoni on the floor? Eric
  21. Based on my own X-periences (sorry, I had to ), the best way to ride X is to stay on the ground and watch. Seriously, when I ride, I make sure I keep my legs crossed at the ankles to keep them from bouncing on the seat (my third ride was very painful because of that). You'll get the worst beating in the last two inversions on the ride. Also, make sure the restraints are as tight as possible when you board the train. That'll also help to keep you from bouncing around. All in all, X is a great concept, but was poorly executed. Eric
  22. Natalie Cole (Nat King Cole's daughter) was an ACE member back about 1990. I still have the roster with her name in it. Eric
  23. Superman has been open, and at one point actually ran both tracks. As for Déjà Vu, it's been open as well with about five-minute dispatches. If you ride, use the Single Rider Line. Eric
  24. ^ Actually, you can see Metro and the Orient Express tracks. About the parking lot, what you can see in that picture is the part of the parking lot where Hurricane Harbor is now. But the lot that's there now was there then. They actually had way more parking at that time than they do now! Eric "My first visit to Magic Mountain was in August 1971" L.
