  1. I have yet to ever have any problems with Southwest. They just seem to do things right. It'll be interesting to see how this new arrangement works out on the customer service end. On the business side, one thing that I wonder about is that Southwest has always flown 737s exclusively. Using one type of aircraft minimizes costs because you're only buying and maintaining one type of plane. Air Tran has 737s as well, but they also have a fleet of 717s (which is actually a redesignated MD-8x class aircraft after Boeing bought McDonnell-Douglas). A number of people I know don't like those with their strange 2 + 3 seating arrangement (doesn't concern me personally), and find them to be uncomfortable. I wonder if SouthTran, er, AirWest, er...whatever they'll be called...will eventually end up with an all-737 fleet at some point? Eric
  2. I wonder what this new combined airline will be called? SouthTran? Airwest? Eric
  3. "magnetic goodies and tires in the brake run" Not to mention refreshments... I really can't wait to see the trains for this ride---especially after the report that they're like nothing we've seen before. Eric
  4. ^ You understand the play on words and think like I do. YES!!!!1!1!!!! You should sue. How many people were trapped into going into that store thinking that they'd get giant books only to be shortchanged like that? Stop the false advertising! If Wendy's puts square hamburger patties on their burgers, why don't they bake square buns to go with them?
  5. That guy on the left with the beard and combed back hair looks like my nephew---could even be him in fact. I'll have to find out. Hopefully I'll make it to HHN this year. Eric
  6. Funny thing...when I said "Dick Clark---The Ride" earlier, I was just joking. But an American Bandstand themed ride could work. They'd just have to do the sound differently, as onboard sound systems seem to crap out easily. Eric
  7. "Up the auntie" could mean something really... well, maybe you'd better use your imagination on that one... Eric
  8. ^ When did we start letting dogs post here? Eric
  9. Could we see Dick Clark---The Ride any time soon? Eric
  10. I was The Wolfman in Magic Mountain's Parade of Monsters back in the mid-'70s. (Note I didn't call the park "SFMM." This was before Six Flags took it over.) Did you know that McDonald's offers an extra large drink, even though it's not on the menu at all locations?
  11. ^ I don't understand why people go to Haunt, then spend so much time riding rides and missing mazes. But maybe that's just me. Eric
  12. ^ What? The only thing I ever heard was the part at the top of the lift ("HERE THEY COME!"), sometimes I heard "TAKE THE TUNNEL" and "THE MACHINES!" Then the stuff at the end ("This is our salvation..."). And that was it. Still a blast to ride, though a bit rough lately. Eric
  13. Because of the crowdus maximus, you couldn't sign up. Buying new tires for the car---should I get four or five (extra for the spare)?
  14. Sometime last year, the city of London, England, installed padding on their streetlight poles because people kept walking into them while texting. I'm really not sure what to think about people who just can't go five minutes without communicating with someone. Most days I don't even turn my phone on, let alone talk on it when it is on. Eric
  15. They shoot you in the air, with the greatest of ease. Then you come coasting back down to your knees... Where did Vons hide my sugar free Oreos?
  16. ^^ Saying "queue line" for "queue" or "line" is the same as people saying "ATM machine" for "ATM." Or "10 a.m. in the morning." It's redundancy. And it also drives me crazy. One time I saw a shirt that I thought was hilarious---it had a giant seal for a fictional "Department of Redundancy Dept." seal on the front of it. Eric
  17. So you can do it and turn it in on the same day. You just can't beat same day service. Why did the creators of the alphabet only create 26 letters?
  18. ^ The Wendy's near SFMM does, too. Your Wendy's 1/2 lb. Double is haunting you because it may not have been all-American beef. More and more, I'm seeing ground beef at the market labeled as "product of New Zealand, Australia, Canada". Not sure what's wrong with American beef, but whatever. Anyway, If there's white chocolate, why isn't there green chocolate?
  19. ^ I keep waiting for that forum to have something about burritos in the title. Maybe one day... Eric
  20. ^^^ LOL!!! I'd love to watch what happens if someone did that. Eric
  21. There is. It's at my house. Why doesn't Wendy's join the rest of the world and allow their customers to fill their own drinks?
  22. I was just looking at the board statistics and saw that there are almost a million posts here at TPR. Eric
  23. ^ On that note, my wife used to work with a lady who looked at the keys as she typed. So one day, she and a co-worker popped some of the keys off and rearranged them. Eric
  24. Sorry, I couldn't hear you---some teacher was yelling... Why are they called "Sun Chips?"
  25. ^^ I've had a couple of rougher-than-usual rides on it, but for the most part, the new trains are holding up well. Dispatches are usually better than Tatsu to be honest. As for audio, I've only had a few rides where it didn't work. Like others said, the fire only goes off when it's not so windy. One time recently only one of the two torches went off. You have to admit that was kinda funny. Recently, I've had a few puff of fog on X2---you can smell whatever it is that is used to create the mist. Terminator's audio crapping out didn't surprise me. Even though GCII coasters are smooth (as wooden coasters go), there was enough shaking and vibration to loosen and eventually kill the sensitive electronics. Personally, I applaud SFMM for trying it; sadly, it didn't work. Eric
