Computer illiterate people that think they know things

^^ As much as I despise unions, this is one of the times where it's good to belong to one. If you do, you might bring this up to your union rep. There's no excuse to be breathing something that could be dangerous. Your supervisor should either let you go out or provide a mask or something to prevent you breathing the fumes. Eric

^ I worked in my yard, trimming a tree, so I did my labor for the day. But I don't mind doing that work, so maybe that qualifies as an entry in the Happiness Pie thread. While trimming said tree, a branch came down and smashed one of my solar powered lights. Eric

a) Carmen is the name of a street in my town. b) San Diego is 175 miles from my house, which is 250,000 miles from the moon. Therefore, Carmen San Diego is about halfway in between, about where Higgins Manor is. What is the dumbest question anyone could ever ask? -
I set out to get a good burger at one of my favorite places today, but on the way there passed one of my favorite places to get pizza, and ended up going there instead. Is something wrong with me, or did I do the right thing? Eric

Refillable cups are more environmentally responsible. In our city, we can recycle anything with the recycle symbol on it, from #1 to #7. Fortunately, SFMM doesn't use lids, which does help to cut down on waste and trash. Discounted drink refills for season passholders would be a nice perk. My season pass coupon booklet goes all but unused each year because most of the discounts are for things that I don't use (game and merchandise discounts, mostly). SFMM does offer a wristband for discounted or free drink refills on the same day, don't they? I don't know how much those are, but as one who does drink a lot of (too much perhaps? ) soda, but I should look into that. Eric

Yes, but they're very tiny and live on the hands of your clock. Why do people refer to the ride vehicles on Superman---The Escape as "trains" when they're clearly single cars? -

Because if you look closely enough, you'll see "A.M." stamped all over it. Some Burger Kings sell tacos, and they're the same exact tacos that Jack in the Box sells. Why is that? -

That would stop if you'd quit rolling them up and smacking your head with them. Is there any way to lose 50 lbs. overnight? -
I wasn't crazy about the idea of SFMM painting their Batman a different color. The all-gray color scheme of the track along with the black supports really worked for the theme of the ride. But since they painted theirs blue, I have to admit that it looks really nice. So far, we don't know much about Dare Devil Dive other than the basics. But it sounds like it will be a good fit for the park. Eric

Getting out of bankruptcy takes about five years, so I'd say about 2019. Why are they called "panhandlers" when very few of them have pans? -

Because wumwip lives in a place called "Bankrupt, CA," EBL lives in a place called "Camarillo, CA," and SpongeBobSquarePants lives in a pineapple under the sea. Who collects all the little shells that they use to make the leis at Hawaiian luaus? -
^ I think it would be hilarious if one day she decided that she likes Vekoma! Eric

^ You can even do that in Microsoft Word if you want to. That would be a cute trick to play on other members of your household. "What are guests walking around with bottles of booze or something?" (kf2010) It's really not hard to sneak a small bottle of booze into the park. When you stop and think about it, the metal detectors only catch metal---not Sharpies, pencils, non-metallic containers, etc. I bring my diabetic kit into the park, and while someone usually asks what it is and if they can look inside, I've been through there without opening it. Imagine what I could hide in there... And people can spike drinks with something other than booze. SoCal is a very different culture from other places. This is why an idea like this works in St. Louis, but likely wouldn't here. Eric

Apple's new virtual deer hunting device. Why do most people in the U.S. speak English, but with so many different dialects, inflections, and accents? -
I ordered the bottomless bowl of chicken tortilla soup. Rather messy, actually. When your bowl has no bottom, you have to eat the soup fast or it runs off the table and into your lap. So that soup was almost like tacos---it had chicken and tortilla strips, and good flavor. Eric

If you look online, I'm sure you can find out if the local bus system has a line out to the park. Many major cities do (even Santa Clarita Transit can take you out to SFMM). You can visit Metro Transit and search the site (according to their interactive map, there is a bus line that stops close to the park). Hope that helps a bit. Eric

"It's almost 10pm here right now, and I'm seriously thinking about driving 50 miles to go see my niece at work." (Me) I never did go. Probably a good thing, though, because it would have used gas that I really can't spare right now. But I made up for it...Diana and I had lunch at Islands. Not real islands, y'know, but the restaurant called Islands. See, it's sort of Hawaiian themed and they sell burgers, fries, sandwiches, tacos, soup, etc. and they have videos of people surfing, riding bicycles, and other outdoorsy stuff. Eric

Strange...I'm a guy and the only thing I need bigger is my wallet. How did they come up with the names, "Dr. Jeckyl" and "Mr. Hyde?" -

There appeared to be a couple of things wrong with that design. First, unless I'm not looking in the right place, it doesn't appear that riders have much support on the sides---slipping out doesn't look that difficult. (And I think that's what happened in the RailBlazer incident at SFStL.) Also, the OTSR is too high and not vertically adjustable. That's fine for someone tall, but for shorter riders...not so good. ^ Interesting. The view in Row 2 of each car sure doesn't look very good. I've seen pictures of this before and can see why this didn't exactly fly. Eric -
It's almost 10pm here right now, and I'm seriously thinking about driving 50 miles to go see my niece at work. That would surprise and shock her. Eric
