TR of Busch Gardens Europe
ebl replied to Team Thriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've been to Busch Gardens in Florida, but I do want to go to this one, too. Busch really does their parks nice. It's too bad that the old one here in California didn't last. Eric -
Good thing that scale has a decimal point before the last digit, huh? In my case, I've been trying to gain weight for the last year or so. During a five-day hospital stay last December, my weight fell to 117 (on a 5'-8" body) due to complications from diabetes (see, Dan isn't the only one around here...). And at one time, I was up over 210 (long story, won't go into it). With some tweaking of insulin (that I have to shoot four times a day), I've been able to not only keep the blood sugar in check, but put some weight on. Today I weigh 145---a healthy weight for me. Robb, I hope diabetes doesn't run in your family (on either side) because it'll catch up to you sooner than later. Not to tell you what to do (as you said, you've done this before), but as a word of advice from an older guy, you might focus on maintaining your weight rather than letting it go up and down. Eric

Comprehensive Coaster Credit Conversation
ebl replied to Shockwave's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
"I still don't have the Canyon Blaster credit at SFMM" (RIP Psyclone) Hee hee...I do! I do have an Excel spreadsheet of everything I've ridden, along with facts and figures, trivia, rating, etc. It's in chronological order, which works out just fine for me. At one time, I would have ridden anything just to add it to my list, but nowadays, I'll only ride if it's something worthwhile. And I won't drive all the way up California to ride some kiddie coaster. Eric -
^^ Sucks about the diabetes (I have experience with that), but congratulations on your new baby! Eric

A chicken breast, a top sirloin steak, and a protein drink for dinner. Oh, and toast on whole wheat bread. So now you know what was cooking at my house awhile ago... Eric

^ As texting goes, my daughter could have kicked your butt back when she was able to text. (We took it away after getting a $520 phone bill because of over 6000 messages in one month!) I generally don't text. Stupid, really. I'll just call and/or leave a voice message. When was the last time you stepped in gum?

Depends on what the "new" thing is. But I'll try most things once. Do you use coupons anywhere?

^ I've always wondered what "Hattuchili" meant. Eric

I can't imagine anyone who doesn't like pie. [Translation: YES!] Do you collect State Quarters or Presidential Dollar coins?
-
Honestly, never. Not to say that I've never repeated a meal somewhere, but just a couple of times will do it for me. When was the last time you (or your folks if it applies) had to call a plumber?

"I'm not too big of a fan on the whole roughing it thing, I like running water out of faucets and flushable toilets." (RCFreak) Ditto for me. I do like the outdoors, but I'd rather have a nice trailer or cabin to sleep in. My wife is an avid camper and goes camping with friends even more often than I visit theme parks! BTW, I live not too far from Ojai, so you guys drove past my house on your way up (I'm in Camarillo). There is some pretty country up this way. I'm glad you guys had fun and enjoyed yourselves. Eric

If it hasn't been done already, how long do you think it'll be before some couple is successful? Eric

Inflamed sciatica nerve on both sides. Hard to sit, hard to walk. Literally, a pain in the butt. Eric

Tonight on the freeway, I saw a BMW weaving all over and passing everyone. Next, I saw a black and white doing the same thing---till he caught up to the Beemer. Then I saw red and blue lights and both cars pulled over. Pwnd!!! Eric

Random Photo TR: Nicole and Derek go to... QVC?!
ebl replied to niiicolaaah's topic in Random, Random, Random
Very...um...interesting Photo TR. Believe it or not, I actually bought something from QVC some years back. Right now I can't remember what it was. Strangely, my wife used to actually turn on the TV and watch the QVC Channel for a long time. With over 100 channels to choose programming, she watched that? Eric -

The other day, I had a Third-Pound Angus Bacon Cheeseburger at McDonald's. Since I ordered it without onions, pickles, and mustard, it was a "grill" order. Normally, they put a "Grill" sticker on it to identify it, but I guess they ran out of those because mine had a sticker that said "Asian." Asian bacon cheeseburgers now? Eric

^ So how did Kristen like Space Mountain? Seriously, do take others with you. Grandma worked out great for us when Diana was that age. She wasn't much into riding, so we were able to ride together. Friends, aunts/uncles, etc. work, too. Eric

Six Flags Magic Mountain Announces "X2"
ebl replied to Loco's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Regarding the amount of money being spent on new trains, when you stop and think about it, how often can you say you've ridden in a multi-million dollar vehicle? About the tunnel...maybe it'll be on the first drop. Imagine going through a tunnel at that point in the ride and being flipped at the bottom. New colors? Keep in mind that anything red will be pink in a year or two. Paint seems to do that. Remember how Ninja looked till earlier this year. Eric -
^ Can't spell "too." < Doesn't mind SLCs. V Doesn't mind wedgies!

I have to take brownies over to Diana at work. They're for her boyfriend and she removed the chocolate chips. He likes chocolate chips, see, but not in brownies... Eric
