How funny that we have someone called "24" here (just above me) and another one called "12," but spelled with Roman numerals (XII). Eric

^ Well, at least I'm not the only English Nazi around here. Eric

^ The last cave drawing I posed for was in beautiful downtown North Hollywood. They've since bulldozed that place and put in a Starbucks because the next closest one was over a quarter mile away! Sorry... Eric -
A potential employer wants me to send samples of my work (AutoCAD drawings). Problem is that I worked for a military contractor previously (project ran out of funding, that's why I'm looking...), and they sort of frown on former employees taking drawings home---hard copies or electronically. So, if they want samples, how do I provide them? They won't have me in for an interview and give me a test so I can prove that I know what I'm doing, so it looks like a no-go on this job. Eric

"So...is this Chinese or Japanese?" (spacemtfan) Japanese. Very nice collection, BTW. Eric

I'd post early pictures of me, but you can't scan stuff made of stone! This has been a great thread, as have all of the retro park stuff ones. Eric -
"Beter?" [scratches head] Anyway, it get better at some point. It always does, just not always when we want it to. Have you ever traveled a great distance by train?

2006. I worked an all-night casino job for the local high school's after prom party. When was the last time you ate pizza?

^ And I'd be excited about that! Eric

^ No, it looks like Bench: The Ride is still there. Anyway, this is another Six Flags park that I want to visit. I've flown over it a couple of times, but do want to actually stop in sometime. Eric -
Happy Birthday, Kristen! AKA KidTums!

Of course this topic will be archived so she can read it someday, but I just wanted to say Happy Birthday to Kristen, aka KidTums (or is it the other way around? ) Eric -

I finally read this thread. I actually have some of this stuff---the David Bennett Roller Coaster book, a Goliath cap from media day, and a Dodonpa shirt (yes, it was from Stan Checketts at one of the Solaces). I also have a Riddler's Revenge cap from that ride's media day, and I'll have to find my picture taken on Riddler's Revenge with myself and three other bearded guys (with hair and beards spraypainted green) in the front row on media day. I say it's the Virgin Mary. She's everywhere else... Eric -
Photo AND Video TR: Opening Day at SFOG!

I've never ridden a Vekoma Flying Dutchman (never did ride Stealth at PGA when it was here), so I can't say anything about the comfort of them. But I've heard little good about those rides, too. Regarding the B&M flyers, the only one I've ridden is Tatsu, and I find it to be quite comfortable. And I've also heard that the other flyers pale in comparison to it. Eric -
My job is looking for work. Or so it seems lately. Eric

The word "cakewalk." Why in the world would you walk through cake? Eric

"Whatever phobia is the fear of crapping youself is the phobia this ride should have been named after." (picture caption) Fecaldropophobia, I believe that's called. Nice TR. SFoG is one park I really want to visit sometime. Eric -

^ Um, they usually come with a stand of some kind. To me, seeing them mounted that way just struck me as funny. In this case, sort of, "Eh, just stick 'em up there on the wall..." Eric -

"Is that a model of Great American Scream Machine? Or is it a model of an early design of Viper?" (haux) Somewhere, the park must have the model of Viper that was on display at Viper's announcement day (November 1989). I attended that event and have pictures of myself standing next to track pieces that were on display right where X2 is now standing. One interesting note was that there is an early concept drawing of Viper showing a level left-hand turnaround after the lift, then a straight drop down and climb into the first loop. That was in place of the curving first drop that Viper actually ended up having. Eric -
^^ So, you've owned her for a year now, huh? Time flies... Happiness for me? I have a $100 bill in my wallet that I earned for dealing roulette last night. Eric
