  1. Howie's a nice enough guy, so it seems, but what kind of host doesn't even shake the hand of a contestant? If Howie's that paranoid of catching something, give him a stack of alcohol swabs. He's better off exposing himself to a few germs anyway because his body can build up its immune system. Unless, of course, that whole thing is just a gimmick... Eric
  2. ^ Perhaps, but they only benefit from it if they're awake... Eric
  3. "Too bad the railroad companies here won't free up the tracks for better passenger railroads..." (terrancew_hod) Moving freight = making money. Since the freight companies own most of the track, they sideline Amtrak and commuter trains because they don't make any money. It is indeed a shame that in this great country of ours we don't have high speed rail service---especially because we do have some wide open spaces that would accommodate it. But then, the people in Washington DC have some wide open space, too, but in a different place... Eric
  4. ^ A good percentage of the people on this forum would benefit from some time in an English class. Eric
  5. "I'd get rid of "front of the line" privileges for people in wheelchairs." (Wes) Have you ever wondered why the bars in queues are so far apart? To accommodate wheelchairs in accordance with the ADA. Allowing a person in a wheelchair to wait at the exit for their family member or friend to reach the loading platform is OK with me, as long as that friend or family member waits in the regular line. I also second the basketball thing from the games. They should be given out deflated. And I would not allow the heely shoes at any time. Eric
  6. BGA is a very nice park, and I'd like to get back there. My only visit was July 2002 and I know there's a bunch of new stuff. Great Photo TR, by the way... Eric
  7. ^ You broke it, you bought it. And, so all of you know, I got a blister on my thumb from doing yard work today. Eric
  8. Very nice report, and thanks for sharing your pictures. Fortunately, out here in California, we have a few railroad museums. The Orange Empire Railway Museum out in Perris is a great place to visit, and you can ride on some vintage rolling stock there. Last May, I went to the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Carson City, and one day would like to visit the California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento. Also, out here in Ventura County, there's the Fillmore & Western Railway that runs between Fillmore and Santa Paula. They're always looking for volunteers, and one day I should just go out there and join. Eric
  9. Sorry to hear about this, David. All the best to you and hope you have a quick recovery. Eric
  10. No, quite the opposite, actually. Are you scared of rodents?
  11. If anyone was at SFMM today, it was a great day to be there. Hardly any lines---even at Tatsu, which was running 3! trains and using both stations. I waited five minutes tops for a ride in the front row. After a two-train wait and a ride on Ninja (and, no, we didn't run into anyone!), I started not feeling well, so I headed out. Though I didn't ride X2, I did notice that it seemed to be cycling fairly often, so whatever happened there (or didn't happen) doesn't seem to have affected it. Quick visit, but the park looked very nice. William, if you were there, I'm sorry for not looking you up. Maybe next time! Eric
  12. Still supporting Scott. Anyone who's into monorails is on the right track. Eric
  13. Because you keep feeding him dog food that's past its expiration date. Why is the world obsessed with speed?
  14. Because you get tired of riding them. Why are hours 60 minutes long?
  15. ^ Called me a dog. < Owns a dog. V Sleeps with dogs!
  16. When the automatic doors open, enter the launch chamber. Please note the number of people allowed per group. Part of the spiel inside Superman--The Escape's waiting area. It no longer plays.
  17. I've never been to Cincinnati or on the Zoom Flume, but it looks like they could build a wooden structured waterslide to modern standards. That looked like a lot of fun. Eric
  18. ^ Here ya go... Halloween Horror Nights at Universal = separate paid event. Haunt at Knott's = separate paid event. Fright Fest at SFMM = starts in the evening; no separate ticket required. Hope that helps, and hope you enjoy. Eric
  19. TIP: If you use the youtube tags, you don't need the entire URL, only the part after the = sign. Just helpin' ya... Eric
  20. cooksta77: You have brought shame to the city where my cousin lives. Besides, what would be so hard about getting a picture of SFMM's Deja Vu anyway...it's the only one still standing (unless you count Aftershock at Silverwood). Since you were there, you could have done that. I was going to take a trip out to SFMM this weekend, but those plans were changed. My car needs its 120,000 mile service more than I need a bunch of coaster rides. Maybe later in the month. Eric
  21. Most likely...not. Do you like spending time with your parents?
  22. 24 years ago today, my 1983 Toyota Supra was stolen from the Glendale Galleria. It was recovered 11 days later in Montebello with 1200 miles added to the odometer. That was some joy ride those guys took. But the car went on to be stolen two more times---once in April 1985, and again in October 1986. Got it back both times and drove it till February 2002 when I got my CR-V. Eric
  23. ^ Three years younger than my niece. < Three years older than my sister. V Three years older than the milk in the fridge!
  24. ^ A Terminator coaster at USF, perhaps, but not at USH. No room for it. That's why they have that heartstopping Revenge of the Mummy. Eric
  25. ^ Lives where my uncle lives. < Lives where there's a new branch of the Cal State University. V Lives where there's a new branch of the sewage treatment plant!
