  1. ^Never trust a Dippin' Dots employee. They spread nothing but false hopes and misinformation.
  2. I like how they had to get it unstuck at the beginning of the video. Plus those riders must have had incredibly strong constitutions. That float-coaster doesn't look like it was designed for rider comfort, and who knows how many times they had to go through the circuit...
  3. The website keeps crashing every other time I click on a page... I guess everyone's rushing to it at once. Not a surprise. This looks completely crazy awesome. Also is there some technicality they're using to say it's the second-fastest wood coaster in the world? Wikipedia says it should be third.
  4. This just looks totally insane. RMC what have you wrought on this world.
  5. Is there any reason there hasn't been a new Intamin Pre-Fab, or even a hint of one, in over four years? Is there some sort of problem with them?
  6. Obligatory shot of Gröna Lund every time someone brings up the issue of space in a theme park.
  7. So, I just burned through my fifth pair of JVC Marshmallow earbuds in less than two years. They had a good bass response, decent overall sound quality, and they were pretty inexpensive, but the left ear always, always fails eventually. And I'm sick of that, so I'm looking for a new pair of earbuds. Any audiophiles on TPR? I don't even know what I should be looking for.
  8. I'd ride it even if it were named the Irritable Bowel Coaster. It really doesn't matter what it's called as long as it's decent.
  9. I was pretty much the opposite when I went last year. Rebel Yell was by far the best/ most fun of the woodies, Grizzly was the roughest/ least fun, and Hurler was in the middle; I didn't get a chance to ride Ghoster Coaster.
  10. Speaking of stand-ups... I was looking through the rcdb page for Worlds of Fun and came across Extremeroller. My God, did this really happen??? Arrow-designed stand-up trains on a standard Arrow Corkscrew layout? And look at those trains! Every single aspect of that seems like a terrible idea.
  11. ^I've also been on both of the Dark Knights. The Great Adventure one left a bad taste in my mouth, because I didn't know what it was going to be and was sorely let down. But this summer I went on the Great America one and had a blast. For what it is, they're tons of fun. Maybe SFOT could get a Bane-themed Wild Mouse
  12. If I can successfully persuade my girlfriend, then Great Adventure some time in the next two weeks. If not... then Great Adventure in October!
  13. Aren't Mega Lites supposed to be too crazy for the lawsuit-happy American crowd? If that's really the case, CGA probably wouldn't want to be the guinea pig for one of these rides. Though you never know, since I305 does exist...
  14. Well, Hersheypark has three of the coasters he mentioned...
  15. As always, if a park wants a B&M stand-up they're going to get one. But it's unlikely a park will ask for one because that's not the hot new thing anymore. They'll be more likely to ask for a Wing Rider, because that's what's in.
  16. Hey Hanno, when was that picture taken? I was at Heide Park on the 2nd, and the sky opened up that day. Good thing I found some cover in the Desert Race queue!
  17. This may be a bit of a silly question, but how much longer might the Parachute Tower last? Now that SFOT's is leaving, I realized that I've never been on it, and want to get a ride in before it's gone.
  18. Went to Heide Park for the first time on Thursday - I loved it! The whole park was really pretty; probably the best-looking park I've ever seen (I haven't been to BGW in 10 years, though). Krake, Colossos and Scream were definitely the best rides in the park. I don't care how short or 'forceless' Krake may be - pretty much every moment of it is fun. Maybe I'm biased because it's the only Dive Machine I've been on. Scream had some really beautiful views of the surrounding area. Colossos was lots of fun too, sort of like an El Toro Lite with its speed and negative G's. If it wasn't for all the disgusting smokers, I'd say it's one of my favorite parks. Also, I don't know if anyone has posted these photos for the 2014 Mystery Attraction, but it looks like they've cleared some dirt near the "Es ist gross, es ist schnell..." poster. Here are a few pics I took: The announcement we all know and love (to debate about). Here's some dirt just to the right of the sign in the Transylvania section. View of the dirt from Bobbahn. Interesting that the trees were preserved. Maybe this isn't for the ride?
  19. I had some fairly ridiculous philosophical credit questions, and I wanted to see people's opinions of them: *If you were to travel to an alternate universe and ride, say, Storm Runner in that alt-universe, would Storm Runner and alt-Storm Runner count as separate credits? *If you went back in time to ride a credit that is now defunct, such as 2000 Son of Beast, would that count? *Combining the two, if you were to travel back in time, but somehow alter history, such as causing Whizzer to be demolished instead of Shockwave, would modern day alt-Shockwave count? What about Whizzer in this timeline? I may or may not have just watched Back To The Future Part II.
  20. ^The official name for it is an Inside Top Hat. Personally, the idea of a 200+ top hat seems a bit far-fetched. The support structure for it (especially if it's built by Premier) would be enormous - perhaps prohibitively so.
  21. Wouldn't that be a bit painful to men? How would that be painful? That sounds extremely painful! A Floorless Stand-Up Coaster sounds like it could smash your balls just by going up the lift! Smash and pulverize! The Ride!
  22. I don't know what's so odd about this letter... it's doesn't sound like the back story for an outlaw-themed coaster at all!
