  1. Pardon the nitpicking, but for some reason the typo makes me think of a caveman doctor or pharmacist, which is incredibly silly.
  2. Yes. If you were to ride a coaster in a parallel universe, would you count it as a separate credit from the exact same coaster in this universe? (I came up with that doozy in the shower, AKA the Crazy Idea Machine)
  3. From Screamscape: Wave 2 of awful Hawk jokes, begin. Actually, don't.
  4. From the Sandusky Register article, it sounds like it'll just be like Leviathan, with the ride extending into the parking lot. Whether or not they'll even bother to paint over the parking space lines is another matter.
  5. Canada geese are just the worst. The worst. That's one less to crap all over everything in sight. It's pretty screwed up that children watched it though.
  6. The last two times I've been to the park have been Saturdays, and due to luck (read: sorta bad weather) the crowds were pretty light on those days. Pray to the gods of Kinda Crappy Weather to deter people.
  7. That's as good a name as any I could think of. The themed trains might not be so appealing though... Also, in regard to the whole Name Debate:
  8. Does anyone know of an email address at which I can contact Great Adventure’s entertainment, um… sector? Division? I’m trying to find a way to get my school’s band to play there during Fright Fest, and I can’t find anything on their FAQ, and all they have on their Contact Us page is a 500-character-limit form.
  9. Nothing ruins your night more than finding a thousand maggots in a bag of potatoes in your kitchen. The whole place stinks horribly now
  10. At Hershey right now, queuing for Skyrush. We beat most of the crowd and only had to wait for two switchbacks, but they're only running one train. It doesn't really make a noticeable difference in dispatch times
  11. I thought about this idea. It would probably just look like a bunch of wood scaffolding or something, like a wooden cage holding in the loop. That's have some pretty good hand-choppers too
  12. Perhaps in an alternate universe. Maybe they'll visit Magic Mountain in an episode of Fringe.
  13. At least the winner is actually an inverted coaster (cough Manta cough)
  14. Just caught the show halfway through the Aftershock bit. I wasn't expecting to see Robb at the end! Pretty cool. The whole show was making me cringe with all the GP-ish explanations of elements (Alpengeist does NOT have "4 loops in a row"!). And Aftershock winning? Totally took me by surprise. Maybe a bunch of Magic Mountain people chimed in because it's like Deja Vu.
  15. According to my coaster list (in order by state, because I never thought to do chronological order and now it's too late to remember that): Boomerang - Knott's Berry Farm Tidal Wave - Ocean City MD Boardwalk (I forget which one) Flashback - SFNE Sidewinder - Hersheypark The Bat - Canada's Wonderland The Bat was actually my first coaster with inversions, so I've got that going for me.
  16. I haven't gotten up to Hershey yet to ride it, but judging by pictures I also wondered why they didn't put any shade at all over that huge area of switchbacks...? Either they didn't have them in the budget or they wanted the view of the lift/drop clear from the queue are my only guesses. Probably a bit of both. The lift hill is so fast it's thrilling just to watch it. There's always gonna be a few gasps in the line.
  17. Well we still have to have a green Intamin, a blue Intamin, an indigo Intamin, and a violet Intamin! Nothing to worry about, people.
  18. ^If I remember, SOB's loop was all steel. So you're rolling along on (terrible) wood track, and then all of a sudden you're on a steel ride, and then back to wood.
  19. I would say 'everything at SF Great America', but I've never been there before, so it's not really a 'wait'. Under my parameters, both Shockwave and Volcano at KD were the longest wait for me, from 1998 to 2011.
  20. I agree with this wholeheartedly. I don't care if it's fashionable to pooh-pooh this ride, it's just a heck of a lot of fun! It also doesn't help that I've only been on TTD once, maybe twice in my whole life, and that was back in 2004.
