Where Are You Going in 2016?
RideofSteel replied to ytterbiumanalyst's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I didn't get a Six Flags pass for 2016. I might visit Great Adventure once, but I'm definitely going to Kings Dominion and Dorney. I'd also like to check out the new S&S coaster in OC, NJ. A trip to Coney Island to ride the Cyclone would also be cool, but it's somewhat unlikely. -
What Social Media do you use the most?
RideofSteel replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
1. Facebook. I rarely post or share things, but I scroll through my newsfeed several times per day. 2. Instagram. I follow a lot of companies and organizations. I occasionally will share posts with friends by commenting @username. 3. Snapchat - I check snapchat stories obsessively. If you tweeted/posted on facebook your "snapcode" (taking a pic of it on snapchat allows you to add the user) you would definitely gain a lot of snapchat followers. 4. Youtube. I usually only use it for music but scroll through my subscriptions and watch them when I have time. I don't use twitter or google+. -

Just sent support from New Jersey. The new lift design looks amazing, and the first inversion looks terrifying. If it's built I'll definitely be there to try it. -
Valleyfair (VF) Discussion Thread

This is just standard marketing. I'm not sure why anyone is getting bothered by this. Why would Cedar Fair waste their time and money to create new ads for every park when 99.999% of the park's market wouldn't know that ride isn't actually at Valleyfair? They were not trying to tease you. -

Agreed. I couldn't believe how much I liked Stinger. -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

I have a question completely unrelated to the current discussion. How is the employee housing at Cedar Point? Would anyone who has lived there recommend it? -

^^I think Gravitor is a SBF Visa ride. It looks similar to some of their spinning rides. It also could be a Zamperla since Six Flags bought so many rides from them for 2016. -
To everyone who was expecting the bigger model, why would Six Flags choose that one? If the version at SFFT got such great reviews why would they spend additional money on a bigger version? I don't think the video is the final version, if it is in fact real. It seems off that the stats aren't shown in the video.

College is too expensive.

SFA: -Pandemonium -The Wild Mouse -The Tivoli SFA: -Rajin Cajun Dorney: -Wild Mouse Also skipped the kiddie coasters at Lagoon, Elitch Gardens, SFA, SFNE, Knoebels, and Dorney. And I drove by Kings Dominion and BGT and didn't stop at either... So I guess all those coasters could count as missed credits.

What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?

SFA's Apocalypse -
So I went back to SFA for the first time since 2011 yesterday. Pulling in around 2 I was shocked that we were all the way in the far lot... Tons of people were still coming to the park, and even when we left there were tons of people entering. All the coasters (except possibly Mind Eraser, I never checked) were running two trains. Lines were in the stations for all the rides except Apocalypse. I have never seen such slow operations anywhere. A two train wait was almost half an hour. The ride attendants also didn't check seatbelts on Roar or Superman. Is that the standard operating procedure, or were they just that lazy? Roar wasn't rough at all, it just had a very bad rattle. It had great lateral forces and a few pops of airtime. Although this could be because I sat in the first row of the second car. I was expecting a much worse ride. Superman seems really poorly maintained. The trains looked tired and made an awful screeching noise while going around the second helix. The ride was really bumpy and seemed to lose speed towards the end of the ride. Very little airtime, much less than I remembered. I had never been on Apocalypse, and it was worse than I expected. My head slammed several times during the ride. Also, around the park I noticed nobody checked heights on the rides. Someone was clearly too short to ride Apocalypse, even when the seat was at it's lowest height her feet couldn't touch the floor. At Great Adventure there's usually someone at the entrance measuring heights and the load-side attendant usually walks with a measuring stick before opening the gates. I don't think I'll be back for a while. - Sorry if this sounded very negative. I've been to some fantastic parks lately, such as Great Adventure, Lagoon, and Knoebels, which really shows how badly this park is run. I really wanted to enjoy myself but the clientele, horrible operations/employees, and lack of theme/atmosphere really made it hard.
