  1. Since it has been a few days..... RCDB gets credit for picture
  2. Another construction picture: Taken from Greatadventurehistory.com All credit for the photo goes to them.
  3. The Funplex in NJ will be expanding this spring with a new SBF Visa Group spinning coaster! According to RCDB: Height: 36 ft. Length: 1,017 ft, Single car trains. Picture from screamscape I'm very excited about this since this is less then 15 minutes from my house. Has anybody ridden the other two SBF spinners?
  4. because they also made you pay to get your restraint checked. This seemed crazy, but not as bad as
  5. Its made by Barbisan. Prior to the 2007 season it was modified by Fabbri. It still operates today. It's park is also home to one of the worst Pinfari's ever built.
  6. Thunderbolt at SFNE...one of my all time favorite coasters!
  7. Looping - Parc Saint Paul (Saint Paul, Picardie, France)
  8. Six Flags New England. I heard terrible things about Goliath and Bizarro's but neither were true. Bizarro wasn't stacking and Goliath's dispatches were every two or so minutes. Even Thunderbolt with it's manual restraint release was sending trains fast. Lastly, the SLC at SFNE was running one train, while the line was still managing to move faster then Elitch Garden's, which was running two.
  9. What amusement park has the worst, or most unsafe ride operations? The worst I have seen was Six Flags America. It should not take 10+ minutes to dispatch a train on Batwing. Likewise, The Jokers Jinx was also quite slow. I think somewhere in the 5+ minute range... The least safe would have to be Lagoon. I was happy to see the Roller Coaster wasn't stacking, but when they dispatched the train when the attendants were still checking (so they could check as the train rolled by...Maybe 1 or 2 rows left), they were taking efficiency too far. What if the restraints weren't locked? (Lagoon's Roller Coaster has two of the few PTC trains that don't have seat belts.) Another thing I saw that wasn't safe was they were checking Colossus's train as the back half was still boarding. What if someone tried to get on the front half? Share your experiences!
  10. For Sure: -Canobie Lake Park in June or SFNE -Clementon Park over Spring Break -Morey's Piers -SFGADv Maybe.... -Kings Dominion -SFA -Dorney
  11. Pleasant: -Goliath (SFNE)- Went in expecting it to ride like a SLC or Boomerang, but it was very smooth and fun. -Cyclone (SFNE)- I have heard horror stories about how rough it is and how its so trimmed, but for me it was smooth and the last trim was the only one on. -Roller Coaster (Lagoon)- Sure, it jack hammered a little at the bottom of the drops, but was a ton of fun, and a lot better then I expected. -Sidewinder (Elitch)- Amazing. 2 launches, 4 pops of ejector airtime, and a very forceful loop. Not the boring, mellow ride I expected. Unpleasant: -Wicked at Lagoon- Too short, and the restraint locked down too much for comfort. -Bizarro (SFNE)- Maybe I got it on a bad day, or was expecting an El Toro level ride, but it definitely wasn't a #1 coaster.
  12. ^At least they haven't put trims on Rolling Thunder.
  13. I use Chrome on my PC, dolphin on my tablet, and opera on my android phone.
  14. Follow me on tumblr. I have lots of amusement park pics and nature. Bensphotooftheday.tumblr.com
  15. Roller coaster at Lagoon (1921) Wild One at SFA (1917) Thunderbolt at SFNE (1941)
  16. Just thought I would share some pictures I took yesterday. Creepy deserted midway. To enter for pass processing you went in the gates behind the go carts. As the park was closed, you went right to the processing center then left.
  17. Don't forget about how amazing Lagoons Ride ops are. They were seriously kick butt the day I was there. Roller Coaster and Bombora, both are very short rides, were running two trains and neither was stacking. At any other park they definitely would have. Colossus was only running one train, but dispatch times were well under a minute...With only ONE attendant checking. Take that six flags! The food though, was by far the most expensive park food I have seen. A 12 inch subway hoagie which is normally $5, was $12. Well over the $8 at SFA and SFNE.
  18. In the Aeroplane over the sea by the Neutral Milk hotel.... amazing.
  19. 2011: 1. El Toro 2. Nitro 3. Superman:Ride of Steel (SFA) 4. Bizarro (GADv) 5. Batwing 6. Kingda Ka 7. Batman: The Ride (GADv) 8. Rockin' Rollercoaster 9. Superman: Ultimate Flight 10. The Green Lantern 2012: 1. Goliath (SFNE) 2. El Toro (SFGADv) 3. Nitro 4. Bizarro (SFNE) 5. Sidewinder (Elitch Gardens) 6. Superman: Ride of Steel (SFA) 7. Thunderbolt (SFNE) 8. Colossus (Lagoon) 9. Batwing (SFA) 10.Superman: Ultimate Flight
  20. -Marathoning El Toro back row 11 times. -No lines at SFNE, even for Bizarro and Goliath. -No lines at Elitch Gardens....Which is really rare. -Finally getting on my first Schwarzkopf. (I rode two: Colossus and Jet Star 2 at Lagoon) AND FINALLY -Tripling my SLC count. -My first 2 normal boomerangs, and first GIB
  21. From Six Flags Facebook: "Relieved to report that we are doing fine. All rides and animals are ok and there was no flooding. The offices will be closed most likely to Thursday, so we appreciate your patience. Our thoughts are with all of those affected by the storm."
