Canada's Wonderland Discussion Thread

Well, since my app didn't save my super long post when I went back to it... Ugh. Short version: I bought 2 fast lane+ passes that are good any day this season for $99 USD after taxes and fees. These are NOT the ones that are from renewing, as those are tied to my card and I will be using them this weekend hopefully. I won't be able to use these though before the season is up. If anyone wants them and willing to throw me a few bones (it can be after you use them) it would be greatly appreciated. They say "ticket 1" and "ticket 2" on them so your name doesn't need to match anything. Send me a PM if interested. I'm willing to give them away to a good home and take the loss as long as you promise not to resell them. I can send a .PDF of the vouchers. Not good for FRIGHT lane, and the restrictions don't say anything about using it during haunt, but it would definitely be either daytime OR night time, not both. Might want to call them to be sure if you want to use during haunt. Thanks! -

I will also say that those photos are fantastic. Thanks for sharing 8) -
If you have the time and want an INSANE haunt experience, go 34 minutes north. Seriously, we go everywhere for haunts, and it's the most interesting, interactive, funny, and fun haunt we've ever done, no question, hands down. (-- though we've never done BLACKOUT NYC to be fair) The line gets HUGE so get there before opening. If you have a group of 2, they will send in the two of you by yourselves. We've done it twice over the years. Spend the extra $$$ for the blood experience. This is critical. Don't wear clothes you don't want to get ruined. You're welcome.

And how much extra does it cost this year to do the mazes? Just curious. It's one thing if they were included with a (regular/gold) season pass or lower tiered membership (but then it might have "Gold pass syndrome" and be more crowded... they are making money off of it so why stop) -- we gave up on Six Flags haunts after going to 3 or 4 different parks thinking they might get better, but now we just go for the rides even at new SF parks.

^ this year Gold and Platinum passholders get into haunt for free. Previously they only got a discount. If you have a daytime one day ticket you would have to purchase another ticket for haunt. There are a few parks that are this way, not all. I'll probably be going next weekend. I may also have to offer up some fast lane passes for daytime as I bought during a sale a long time ago that I won't be able to use because I already have the free ones for renewing our passes for next year... so I'm going to have two extra since I plan on visiting once more this year. I'll know for sure, soon, as I might be able to get some friends to tag along but usually their schedules don't work out. -
lol @ polar bear gnawing at your head Cool stuff. I'm going to Vegas next month and was debating on Adventuredome. We don't have a ton of time but El loco sounds great. Do they sell individual ride tickets if that's all I wanted to do? I was on canyon blaster as a kid and have no desire to ride again.

Safety first! EDIT: sorry, left out the Tim Hortons cup. -
Quick thoughts on my first ever visit: - Marvel Cave was cool! (and a great workout) - Potato & Sausage skillet meal was great - Banana Split was great - Cinnamon Bread was even better than I remember from Dollywood. Maybe because we got the Apple version? Omg so good. - Outlaw Run is the roughest of all the RMC's I have been on. It really did feel like a wood coaster. Great ride, still, but really unexpected. Boo to the massively short seatbelts which prevented others in my party from riding - I really enjoyed Powder Keg. I didn't know anything about it going in, but it was a ton of fun. - all the theming, shops, food, everything about the park was fantastic - loved the different pumpkins (we didn't make it for the night event unfortunately) - time traveler was REALLY good and unique. Some of the forces and direction you take the elements really take you off guard and feel funky - WildFire was decent, but nothing really new - FIRE IN THE HOLE!! - The water boat shootey thing (the name escapes me -- flooded mine?)... yeah, no. the shooting portion was not executed well. - Grandfather's Mansion was kooky fun. I enjoyed it. Different from any other walkthrough attraction I've been in. Laying on the bed and trying to do a situp was a weird feeling. - Thunderation -- it's an arrow. So yeah. (Not very good.) Had a good time; would have liked to stay longer but we drove 7 hours that day in addition to the park. Pumpkin blowing a pumpkin. Oh yeah.

Thanks to everyone recommending Cyclone Sam's! It was a blast, lol. A little dizzy after that one. Lightning and thunder still in the area unfortunately so I still haven't been on Mamba, Prowler, or Spinning Dragons yet. Was really looking forward to Prowler so I'm hoping it opens back up at some point. Timber Wolf wasn't very good. I loved the signs about not being responsible for discomfort on the ride. It wasn't TOO too rough, it was just an uninspiring layout. -

So Worlds Of Fun silently changed their pass holder Bring-A-Friend tickets late this week for today. It's a Saturday for haunt, and they had it listed as $24.99 online / 27.99 at the park, I went to buy tickets last night and they changed the calendar for today to the $36/$41 price. The first weekend was definitely cheaper as I went to buy the tickets to see price with fees and it was definitely a lot less. Pretty crappy of them. Weather is not looking good, though. Hopefully it scares everyone away and the park doesn't get hit. wishful thinking. Wish me luck! -
Wow. First time here and just spent the last 3 hours riding everything as a walk on and I really dig these rides (though most of the queue paths are ridiculous). Huge surprise to me that ALL the woodies were way way way better than what I was anticipating. -- also enjoyed Wonder Woman and Justice League though our vehicle was a bit messed up. Batman was insane mode, I swear every time I ride these they get wider each time lol. Great night. Loved The Boss. Especially that extra downward hill after the first drop.... totally caught us off guard.

First rule of fight lane is don't talk about fight lane. Given the time of year and the news stories that come out of theme parks this time of year, I found this typo to be appropriate. --- Dang, those crowds sound bonkers, especially with it still being September. They don't really have a reason to change things up when people are coming in droves anyways. That is always my one disappointment with the Cedar Fair haunts, they are usually good the first time you go to them, but then they just get stale because they don't change them up very much from year to year. -

Getting 120 flavors of Coke, or short lines at Cedar Point. Damn, that's a tough choice. Thinking of rescheduling my trip! -

Going for my first time this weekend... - Does Patriot have modified seating in any rows? ("Big boy" seat, double buckle, etc.) - Any good places to eat on the dining plan? - Any unique activities or rides that are not the roller coasters that are must do's? Thanks in advance 8) -
I was planing going one week from today, but it looks like they quietly changed their hours and they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays now? Ugh... I looked on archive.org just to confirm I wasn't crazy and sure enough a few weeks ago it says nothing about changing hours after summer is over. I was looking forward to this forever, but now I will have to rearrange some of my Missouri trip and hotels this weekend to maybe get a few hours there on Friday before Six Flags, if I can make it work with my driving schedule.... I'm glad I just happened to check since I didn't buy my tickets in advance otherwise I would have showed up very sad with no chance of going whatsoever on Monday. Do they normally close days in the "off-season" or is this a new thing?

It says "pass holder" in the ticket name but that's it. With your name, ID, email, and credit card they should be able to look it up. Or you can yourself there is an "order lookup" on the accesso site.
