  1. Went to the park briefly today. My 2 free cut the lines turned into 4 because the guy was feeling generous (thank you!) -- since there weren't many crowds I'll save them for later in the season. Rode Predator in the back and thought I'd die but honestly it wasn't a bad ride at all and my back wasn't hurting or anything. It was pretty fun. Ride of Steel seemed way shakier than the normal shuffling. I didn't see skyscreamer run at all. The "home made" pizza slices at timber ridge was nasty... I think the personal pan from last year's review was somehow better. Just... No. Fascination was fun for a few rounds. Grabbed a fresh squeezed lemonade as a snack. Was a short day but despite the park looking pretty full from the lot, everyone must have been in the water park.
  2. Yes, Thunder Rapids had Poland Springs branding for a few years.
  3. Plymouth Rock Cafe has always been my go-to as well for food. Love the turkey dinner in the past. No chance to go this year because they fed us way too much for the event. Some of the employees mentioned the Alamo being their go-to, but I've never been. Super duper minor disappointments: 1) the Dole whip machine was down at sweet stuff so we couldn't have a Dole Whip float... one is my favorite treats at Disney. We walked to the stand in the back of Splashin Safari for our fix (no pineapple float, though) -- later I thought we could have just carried over a cup of pineapple juice I'm sure they would have obliged lol 2) they must have gotten rid of the sweet tea around the park (I specifically remember Plymouth Rock and Kringles having it previously -- though I remember they switched to a pseudo brewed tea looking canister that was just fountain, lol) though they did have a Lipton brisk sweet tea in the pavilion / picnic dinner. Diet peach tea doesn't count I think long ago they had the fresh brewed stuff but it may have been awhile. Oh well. I was happy to see Gatorade fruit punch at some of the oasis', much preferred to the more common orange ones. 3) the lineup at the coffee shop area in Merry marketplace made no sense. There was an "enter here" line for the coffee area and it had it's own register, so people would stand there waiting to be addressed. Eventually an employee would tell everyone to go to a different register to get taken care of. Rinse and repeat. Nobody was acknowledging those in lines I think because they thought they were waiting for their drinks? Whatever the reason, it was really disorganized and confusing. My drink was good though 4) Auction off a golf cart cheuffer for the event!! The long walks between attractions can be brutal Seriously though those are my only complaints if you were to force me to make some up just to feel slightly disappointed at Holiday World Had a full cup for the water cup challenge left so I felt special, lol. Awesome event. If you think the rides aren't great during the day, they are a whole nother beast at night. Oh, and the famous Raven "ball tingle"[emoji769] was absent this year. lol. That's a good thing. OHH, and the gobbler getaway walkthrough was fun 8) -- I'm still trying to figure out how my wife got a score ending in "9" on two separate occasions as the targets are supposedly 30 or 60 (with the two different color targets seemingly not making a difference?) -- this ride continues to confuse me, yet very entertaining. Love the addition of the photo and the candy shop exit.
  4. Voyage was running absolutely insane last night in the dark. I talked to one of the supervisors and I don't remember the exact number he said but they said the run time was (at least 5, 6 seconds, or 9 (lol sorry I don't remember) faster than a normal run. You could definitely tell the difference. And with actual facts to back it up from the ride system instead of it just feeling crazier in the dark.
  5. So in other words spent 3-4 hours just riding those two rides? I actually, somehow, some way, did get on Mind Warp, and you are right, it's pretty nuts. The cycle was just long enough as to not make me cry like a baby to get off because I started to get sick, but I'll tell you, the ride is awesome. Did you at least ride the canoes? I used to work at the park and it was always fun "rescuing" people who didn't understand the concept of paddling properly. I wasn't sure if the water is still radioactive in the summer too. I'll probably try to hit up the park next weekend with a bring a friend free... I still don't think I could convince my wife to go there (unfortunately I told too many horror stories from when I worked there) but maybe your review of those two rides at least will help, lol. As far as food goes at Wonderland, I'm not sure why it gets such a bad rap on here, they have some of the most unique food at the Backlot cafe that you wouldn't find at any other theme park.(http://cpfoodblog.com/park-food-guides/canadas-wonderland-food/backlot-cafe/) and then the hidden Muskoka Grill has a really good burger that they prepare on the grill right in front of you (http://cpfoodblog.com/park-food-guides/canadas-wonderland-food/muskoka-craft-burger-beer/) though they scaled back the options this year and the regular Burger is no longer on the dining plan I wouldn't be surprised if that got a bunch of backlash on that, though. Even in my 10 minutes of waiting there were a lot of people bitching about it. The new peach hard cider in the park really good and refreshing. I'm not normally a fan of peach flavored things but it was awesome. If you have any specific questions about Wonderland, let me know.
  6. Safari is on flash pass, but I'm pretty sure we couldn't use Membership skip the line on it last year. Not sure if anything has changed in that regard. It's also possible my memory is fuzzy. Don't miss it, though. It's worth the time commitment... just go early as others have said. Last year at Great Adventure: The Skip The Line for Diamond Elite you get two slips of paper, each with a ride name that your present to them ahead of time. You can get two slips with the same ride and ride with a guest, but each slip is only good for one person. They do not check for a membership card when you go to redeem the slips.
  7. I did keto for a month and I got down 12lbs or so but my peers talked me out of doing it full time since I only have one Kidney. I've still been losing additional weight just much slower but I'm starting to eat "everything" again. We'll see how it goes. While I was on it I didn't find it to be too tough; unsweetened vanilla almond milk became my new drink of choice I liked the taste of it and it was actually fulfilling (unsweetened tea and water wasn't quite doing it for me) . I don't know what I was supposed to really do but I just stayed under 40g of carbs each day at that's really all I followed and the weight came off.
  8. ^ cool. Do you have to state the ride name ahead of time or can you use as you please? Also... expiration date on the slip? I only ask because at Great Escape it was the same thing... multiple people, it was good the entire season, and no need to state what you were going on in advance. Just wondering if it's the same, I didn't even bother picking up the skips on opening day but it would be nice to know how it works
  9. That's awesome that they still do things like this. Many years ago I was in line for TTD until after 1am (on a 10p close)... lol good times. It kept breaking down but sure enough I got my ride!
  10. UFO, Crazy Quilt (Rodeo Roundup? Or was that Corn Popper? What was crazy quilts new name? [emoji849]), SeaStorm (Raging Seas [emoji849] )(back when they manually controlled the spinning direction not the crappy automatic version) and NIGHTMARE @ Phantom Cave were all great rides. I thought Nightmare was dumb as a kid (or maybe the 6 hour wait tainted my opinion) but if it were still at the park today I think I'd feel positively of it. Pray for the light of day.[emoji769]
  11. You can scan your pass with the Six Flags app and it will tell you what kind of pass you have and if it's active. Will save you a call and repeating numbers over the phone 30 times for them to finally understand
  12. ..... so did you touch the wire? Don't leave us hangin'! Oscar coaster sounds fun. I don't think I could ever convince my wife to go there to ride it though... -- I don't think I could convince myself, especially since I don't have a SeaWorld etc. pass anymore. I say that but somehow I ended up with a Fantasy Island (NY) season pass so I guess anything is possible. Anyway, great report. I got to do a Nitro marathon earlier this year and it was awesome. Would love to do the same on Batman. Since weather closings are so likely it's hard to plan a trip out there during HITP. The one time we went and it was actually open was awesome, though. Hopefully this year I can find a dependable weekend where weather won't thwart our plans yet again.
  13. I think Tom Cruise in the meme thread sums up my thoughts.
  14. One small turn near the end of the ride was worked on.
  15. I was next on the ride when it closed down for the day on April 21st. Assuming that was the day it closed down for good... but I'm not a local so I couldn't say for sure. The weird part was that they were able to cycle a train around the track empty to get the people in the brake run into the station without an Evac. So it didn't seem like something major with the mechanics of the ride itself at the time. But the fact that they called a closure in the middle of the day that it wouldn't reopen, and it's been down for weeks, clearly that's not the case (unless it's a construction thing for the new area being so close? Someone mentioned that it could be the reason why as well). There wasn't any commotion or ambulance's or anything so nobody got ejected as much as I always think I'm going to... so yeah.
  16. Had a short-ish day at the park today. We never go on Saturdays so it was a more crowded than we typically see this time of year, but definitely nothing like a summer day. Was definitely a FastLane kind of day, but not in the cards for us today. Rode Steel Vengeance twice and it was running amazingly and flying through the end of the course, Maverick twice, Skyhawk, Dragster (this was a tough line... got in line at 10:10am but due to winds it kept rolling back and they were only loading first 3 rows for a long while) -- ended up waiting about 1.5 hrs despite getting there 10 minutes after opening (only the first set of switchbacks was full and that's how long it took... behind us it looked like the ENTIRE queue was filling up). They did eventually start loading more more rows, but then went back down to less again. Magnum and Gemini both had lines like I've never seen before (we usually only go Sundays in the slow season so normally they are 10min wait max). We didn't even go to the front half of the park (my wife can't do all the rides right now, and I wasn't going to wait after looking at the app times) -- I'll get to them later in the year with FastLane and stay at the park longer or when I have a buddy. Miss Keets (SP?) BBQ place changed up their menu this year, only 4 things: sausage (I didn't care for it), smoked wings (these looked white, soggy and gross but I didn't have them), turkey leg (a la carte only), and pork ribs. The ribs were tasty but I would definitely hit up Famous Dave's or the new BBQ place next time. Had a fun time in Frontier Town all day! Millennium Force, Raptor, Gemini, Magnum, Gatekeeper, etc will all have to wait for another visit.
  17. Same at Kings Dominion for me, no discount. Cedar Point is the only official park to offer it on their benefits page as far as I know but I haven't looked at them all.
  18. They are the same design restraints, BUT, the seatbelts at Hershey are WAY shorter. I was just there 2 weekends ago and it was hard to get on in Hershey but at CP (and i305) my wife and I have never had a problem. -- Then again they refused to even help push it down at Hershey and were immediately kicking people off without even giving it the extra push... but I'm pretty confident the seat belt lengths are waaay longer at CP. Probably still needs to be down the same amount on the sensors but Hershey is definitely playing it safe with their belts. Just my experience anyways.
  19. I like the ride quite a bit, but over the years, even early in the year or early in the morning, I always feel at least one of the screens aren't working right with the glasses, or all the guns don't even function. Although I didn't ride it the other day, I swear it had a bunch of seats roped off when I glanced over at it from Vortex. The upkeep definitely needs work, but if fully functioning, a neat little ride. The zombie makeover during haunt is awesome and a GREAT addition to the park, but obviously suffers from the same technical issues. A fun way to keep things fresh, though. Very unique.
  20. I think having it themed to four giant guillotines would be the single greatest theming move ever. They could still call it drop zone. Or maybe just for haunt at the very least since I'm sure it would stir up some controversy for the regular season... put in some screaming sound effects, a falling head into a basket...
  21. Labrinth, Sia, & Diplo present LSD - Audio (CID Remix)
  22. New version of this song was recently released... Castlecomer ft. Welshly Arms - Fire Alarm
  23. I don't expect it to operate like Cedar Fair, I expect it to be run like a --current-- Six Flags park. Over the past couple years I've been to many (from small to large). They used to be the laughingstock of the industry but that has changed over the last 10 years IMO. I --like-- going to Six Flags (well, there were questionable operations at some but not the worst ever) and I don't dread going to them... but I think a lot of people dread going to Darien Lake because of its consistent issues over the years. Glad things have improved over week one, though. Hopefully it keeps going in the right direction. When did they add music as a whole around the park out of curiosity? I remember the water park (Crocodile Isle / Hooks Lagoon) and maybe Superman having themed music waaay back in the day (and 'Back in Black' on the Viper lift, lol) but I don't ever remember music playing through the rest of the park... ever. I haven't been to the park much, though, so I'm just curious since it's been a topic or conversation. I always remember it being quiet. It keeps getting mentioned that Frontier City is getting a lot of improvements this year, but that doesn't necessarily mean that Darien Lake is going to get the same treatment. We shall see.
