^ HA! Another funny thing for a Friday it was incredibly slow at the Adventuredome. I went there with a friend today, the original plan was the ride Speed and go out for lunch, so we opted for Adventuredome. Rim Runner looked to be undergoing maintainance, no water and workers painting and repairing certain parts of the ride. Makes me wonder about the new coaster?? Why rehab a ride if it may be closing? But as far as attendance, there were only a couple of people on any of the rides. Lines were no where to be found. The longest wait was to buy wristbands! John

Hey everyone I was there today and I grabbed a picture of the sign at the entrance. They even ripped out all of the cash registers, it was really sad. I hope it doesn't go anywhere, but if it does, I hope they could re-locate it somewhere. None of the employees at the Sahara had any information about it either. John Speed: The Ride closure sign.

Thanks for sharing! Great trip report, In Vegas we don't really get anything like this, only the San Gennaro Feast, an Italian Festival that happens two times a year, showcasing FOOD, and some rides and attractions, but not much. John

Ride Reliability
Mr Stratosphere replied to ConleyKE's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
When I went there in early June this year the only ride that had downtime was Maverick, but it was only 10 mins and the crew was very good and keeping the crowd informed. John -

I had to work this evening, so I missed the closing ceremonies. Did anyone catch it, and how was it? Better than the opening ceremonies? John

Gum Walls
Mr Stratosphere replied to Coasterfanatic245's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
A couple of notable ones for me. At SFMM on Gold Rusher: As you go up the rides first lift on the left. There is a lot of gum on a support of the track. But SFMM has done a pretty good job trying to keep it clean. Adventuredome Las Vegas: The first bridge you go under while riding the Rim Runner has lots of gum on it. John -
Good Coaster, Bad Park

I believe Desperado at Buffalo Bill's in Nevada is a prime example. I believe if the ride received the attention it deserves it could be a very good ride. John -

As far as the guy with goggles. There was a similar one that was riding Desperado on Extreme Roller Coasters, a DVD that had a lot of the California rides on it. John -

As far as Ruby holding the records I can vouch for her on those! She would ride them at least twice a day! Since I don't work there anymore I don't know if she still rides them all the time, but if I know her well enough she still does lol. John -
Worst Coaster Experience
Mr Stratosphere replied to airforcekid's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Not really a bad experience on the ride it was more or less the employees that made it really bad. I drove to Buffalo Bills yesterday at the California / Nevada border to ride the Desperado. I was told on the phone before I left my house that the ride was open. I arrived and didn't see any trains cycling. I went to the ticket booth and asked if the ride was going to open. The employee responded "Hopefully it never does I hate that ride." That made me mad, but what was worst the manager was standing right there when she said it and did nothing about it. I asked what was wrong with the ride to the manager and she said that Desperado blew its lift motor last week and has been closed all week. It was supposed to open yesterday but the ride is having computer problems. So it might be down until Saturday. I also asked why I was told the ride was open and drove all the way there and the ride has been closed all week. It just seems to be a lack of communication there. The only upside was that the Turbo Drop was open and I haven't seen it open in the last 5 trips I made it out there. It just stinks because I was going to take my friend who has never been on Desperado, or any Hyper Coaster for that matter. And was a waste of an 80 mile round trip. John -
I love all the editing done to the camera shots lol! John

What part of town were you in? I was here at work on the strip and I didn't feel anything. I was on the far east side. Near Sunrise Mountain. It was just a very very weak movement, but it was noticeable. John

I don't know if anyone else felt it, but here in Vegas we felt just a slight shaking. Ever since we have been in Vegas since 1991 I've only felt 4 quakes out here. It was just noticeable because the light in our dining room was swaying just a bit. John
