Hey Robb, my videos will not upload. After the upload it goes back to the homepage of TPR TV. I'm trying to upload a .mov The video was 3:02 in length. I check my account and the only video that exists was the one that was already there. When I look at the existing video - Canyon Blaster, It shows the 2 files I tried to upload under the "more videos by Mr Stratosphere" and they do not have a preview photo. When I open the link the video says: 303: Failed to load a resource: Unable to load resources: Error #2035 Hope it helps! John

I really enjoy the pre-lift and lifts of Space Mountain at Disneyland, and I enjoy the pre-lift of the Belmont Park Giant Dipper in San Diego.\ John

Rim Runner Leaving Las Vegas
Mr Stratosphere replied to HEADCHEEZ's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Unfortunately this is the truth. I believe the economy in Vegas would be doing a little bit better if there were a couple things for families to do as well. I really miss Wet 'N Wild. There are no real mini golf places only. The only major one I know about is inside Adventuredome. Scandia was closed for guess what? Condos. The only other family thing to do is far from the strip and that is the Las Vegas Mini Gran Prix. John -
Rim Runner Leaving Las Vegas
Mr Stratosphere replied to HEADCHEEZ's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Here's a small update from earlier tonight. I stopped by the dome just like I said I was going to do yesterday. The park was very empty and all of the kiosks and little stores in the park were closed. The park seemed very much like a ghost town. When I got into the park Disk O was broken down and maintenance got the ride going again. Inverter was closed with no power to it. So I decided to head around to check out Rim Runner. And it was closed. Here are some photos from my visit to the dome. Does anyone remember the original advertising for Adventuredome? There used to be a catchy little song. The park used to be called Grand Slam Canyon, and the tag line was Adventuredome. I like the original name much better!! John In the previous post, the mention of how Rim Runner used to be. I remember the Dinosaurs that used to spit water at the riders. They were replaced by Chaos. There used to be fog on the lift hill and bats. All that remains there are some cobwebs and LED lights to look like bats eyes. The rock that used to tilt at the top of the lift also does not work anymore. Oh look its Inverter!! Nevermind it's closed. Very Dry Waterfall.. It's sad. There was no one at the park today, if you wanted to marathon on Canyon Blaster, today was your day! Empty station, normally when I have ever seen this ride closed there was a boat in the station. The park was strangely empty today. The trough still has water in it. The beginning of the lift for Rim Runner. Behind the tarp is where they store the boats. The beginning of the lift for Rim Runner. Behind the tarp is where they store the boats. There was only 1 person on this train. Right when Disk-O broke down, but no one was on it. Sling Shot was open. Disk-O right after they closed it for the day. -

I agree with that as well. I will head to the park tomorrow and see whats up. The most I have ever seen them run on Rim Runner is 3 boats. I do remember back in the day when the front and back rows were open. That is when no one on the boat would stay dry. The only people who seem to get wet is the people who sit on the right side of the boat. I just find it interesting that the boat is sitting in plain site. John -

This is boat 5 from the Rim Runner at the Adventuredome. It was sitting in the parking lot behind Circus Circus next to Industrial Road. It had markings all over it that said cracks, and there was a note saying major crack in the hull. It looks like it was here to be scrapped. I haven't been inside the Dome in quite a while, I will head over there tomorrow to see if anything is going on with the ride. John Rim Runner Boat 5 Rim Runner Boat 5 -
Most memorable coaster moment of 2008?
Mr Stratosphere replied to TheHulk's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My first ride on Millennium Force and my first trip to Cedar Point! Something I will never forget! Another very good honorable mention was the X2 campout! X2 was a great improvement on the ride's operation and overall ride experience! John -

It's actually an awesome re-creation of the X2 soundtrack. He has been working on it since the ride debuted. Check it out! John -
Nürburgring launched coaster
Mr Stratosphere replied to thomas2's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I personally never had the chance to ride Hypersonic, but I have heard stories about how brutal it was. But I have been on TTD, Storm Runner, and Xcelerator and I know they they offer a great smooth ride. The only coaster I have ridden with I-Beam track is Superman: The Escape at sfmm and if there were triwsts and turns I could see it being kinda rough. I would assume it would offer a smooth ride. Having the fastest roller coaster on earth will give the park attention it is seeking. John -
Are you seeing this?

It works! AWESOME! -
I was at DCA on Monday. here is some photos from the lagoon being empty and work on the painting of Sun Wheel. It was amazing to see the lagoon empty. Putting up scaffolding. How much longer will you see this?? I rode and actually had a great ride on it. There were 2 towers running and about a 20 min wait. The other tower had a tarp over the passenger cart. Let the painting begin.. Empty.. Crazy, I really didn't realize just how deep the lagoon really is. Running 3 trains, 1 station. Purple didn't have audio.. 55 Minute wait. Park was surprisingly busy!!!! Thats all for now. I will post a complete trip report in its own thread later this week. Have a great holiday weekend everyone!!!!!! John

^ That reminds me of the layout of the Canyon Blaster at the Adventuredome in Vegas. All it is missing is that extra helix at the end. I gotta scrounge around for some postcards I have. But I am really enjoying this forum! John -
This is true. It was windy that day. So it was closed. I still dont understand why all the other rides were in working order. I was there Oct 13th and It was very very windy as well, but everything else was open. I'm just glad that they close the ride and we don't get stuck on X2 after it valleys. Just be glad you can experience all of the other OPEN rides in the park. Just because X2 was closed it doesn't mean it wasn't in working order, it was just closed due to the weather. Even though I didn't get to ride X2 my day wasn't ruined because of it. I still had an outstanding time at the park, and so did my friend. Another thing I noticed was that it was windy on the X2, Viper side of the park, but It wasn't windy on the other side of the hill were Riddlers, Batman, Scream, etc. are at. John
