Hey everyone! Quite a big update today! The car that was on display at IAAPA is now on display at the front of the park. Some nerd shots are below. All of the track in the main arena of the ride is in place with a couple of alignments to be completed. All that's left is completing the final twist and dive into the final brake run. Lots of electrical work going in now as well. I must also point out that the touch ups on the mountain look fantastic. You can't even tell that there used to be a flume drop there. Enjoy the update! Almost there!! Just a bit of alignment to be done, then the main arena track installation will be complete. The work they did on the mountain looks great! Can't even tell there used to be a flume drop here. First peek at the car inside the park! Yay for lapbars only! (with seatbelt) A look inside the station. Not too much longer, the final pieces of track will be installed here. Closer look in the station, looks like some controls are in place. A closer look at the car that was on display at IAAPA. NERD SHOT! I think the cars look great! Hello lifting dog! Here is a nice surprise!! The logo lights up! A closer look. -
What Rides Scares the Crud Out Of You?

Hands down, Intamin First Generation FreeFalls. It was one of those things that just felt rickety and the bang and slam that happens when heading back to the station. -

I really like the concept for this, for me, it is like everything the High Roller at Stratosphere should have been, we just had a really long helix haha! -

You won't get the kiddie credit, on Miner Mike, unless you are under 58 inches. All aboard for a runaway coal train ride destined for a happy place! You must be between 33 and 58 inches tall to ride Miner Mike. They are very strict about this height requirement. -

Amusement Ride Breakdown!
Mr Stratosphere replied to Mr Stratosphere's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Mine was a Tower B Miscatch on Déjà Vu at Six Flags Magic Mountain. We were sitting in the back car and the second tower failed to catch us. We rolled back into the loop where the brakes caught us and we were nearly inverted for a couple of minutes, maintenance came, reset the ride and the catch car grabbed us and we concluded our ride. Was nice, because I was expecting to get evaced off the ride. -
You Might Be A Coaster Nerd If....

You might be a coaster nerd if you are stopping by the Adventuredome several times a week to check on the status of a new roller coaster in Vegas! The first one since the year 2000. We have waited 13 years for this! -

Here is a photo of one of the cars now on site, yesterday there were two cars here. I'm assuming one is inside now. I will try and stop by later today. -
Yep! Only two more pods, just drove past the location and they are on the ground awaiting installation. Along with The Quad, I thought that was a terrible name because the number 4 is the most unlucky number in Asian culture.

It does not, it is the old Rim Runner station. Not too much to go, been a real blast watching the progress on this. Just think, Rim Runner's last day of operation was Superbowl Sunday 2013. -

I have to say I am thankful that I live so close to So-Cal, Disney and Knott's are open year round and Six Flags is operating on weekends. And I have some rides here in Vegas to keep me busy. Hint hint.... Make Vegas a destination!! -

Exactly, I bet it sure has helped keeping work trucking along. I don't think much was done this weekend with the park being open until 12AM each day. I am sure more progress will be done this week, and I will provide an update. I do know that they have been working on electrical and some of the things the naked or untrained eye wouldn't see. -

Why are lift hills in China and Japan so slow!? Wasn't it the same for Big Boom in Japan. I couldn't imagine the wait time with a full queue! -

Not really posting this as a major update but they did make more progress overnight. One more track section and the truss for the second block brake are now in place.
