  1. Here's a thought! Rim Runner closed Superbowl Sunday and they are ready to start construction in less than 5 months after closing the old ride!
  2. Hey everyone! A quick update from Adventuredome! Rim Runner demolition (trough until Chaos, the drop and splashdown) is complete. The tough behind Chaos, the lift, upper trough all still remain. There is now construction markings in the cleared out area of the former splashdown pool. Also the area from Canyon Blaster's turnaround to the lift also has markings. For those of you who know the park, it's in the Passage of Time area. The photos below show it much better, so now with these markings and Rim Runner's station still standing. I've come to the conclusion that the station will be reused for El Loco. Will update everyone as work continues!
  3. Absolutely incredible how Royal Caribbean is handling all of this. And all of the reports and posts I've seen on the web has all been positive about the entire situation. Loyal to Royal! Reading a lot of the retweets and Royal Caribbean is allowing the news networks to use their photo to spread the news. No coverups and upfront and honest. Love these guys!
  4. I think without the water and the added humidity in the dome it will be much better this time around! It already smells much much better in the park. But it is still hot at the top of the dome, you can definitely feel the temperature difference at the top of Canyon Blaster's lift.
  5. Here is a couple of shots of Canyon Blaster from a vantage point previously unseen.
  6. Hey everyone! Here's a quick update from the park. Pike's Paas mini golf has reopened after a refurbishment and all I can say is that it looks great! Ill have to play a round next time I visit. Any signage that portrayed Rim Runner has now been removed. New park maps and new signage stating "El Loco Coming Soon!" It looks as though as demolition of the Rim Runner is complete for now. The drop, the runout and trough through the Passage of Time Has been removed. So now it looks as if ground (floor) work for El Loco would be next to start. 6 months to go! All of the heavy demo equipment is no longer on site. Looking forward to covering the construction of El Loco! Now onto the photos! Decided to get a bit artsy. Does anyone remember when a huge waterfall used to be here? And there were holes near the bottom where you could see Canyon Blaster wizz by. And you used to get a nice misting while on the coaster. Newly remodeled! Looks great! Coming soon! The fence in the Passage of Time has been moved back allowing for more walking space. Camouflage on part of Rim Runner's trough. Can't wait to see what fills this vacant space They've removed quite a bit of the vents to accommodate El Loco. For the HVAC fans out there Here you can see how far up this duct used to go. A couple of midway games, a snack bar and ticket booth have been removed/moved
  7. Hey everyone! Here is a short update from today at the Adventuredome. The area for El Loco looks to be completely cleared and most of the heavy machinery has been moved away.I will keep everyone posted on any future developments! Enjoy the photos!
  8. We rode it on Sunday and it looks a lot more crisp, I know that Space Mountain and Finding Nemo were down all day Sunday.
  9. We did and as I recall you weren't too happy with being wet lol
  10. Now there is an idea! An indoor wooden coaster!
  11. Also very excited about the planned Arena to be built as well!
  12. For comparison, this was the same shot just two weeks ago. I really wonder how much space will be opened up once the Rim Runner is completely removed. Just this small bit of demolition has cleared up a lot of space. Maybe more of the ramps and bridges will come down too?
  13. Just a quick photo update from Adventuredome today. The trough right after the station is completely gone and it is very odd riding Canyon Blaster without a wall there anymore. Enjoy! Lots of progress has been done to the start of the trough. Very odd riding the coaster and no wall being to the left of the track.
  14. Just like the Ice Skating Rinks, how they can be covered up to become a stage. I totally love how innovative these ships are becoming, makes me not want to get off at ports of call! This will also make days at sea (my favorite days) super active!
  15. I can report that the boats from Rim Runner have been moved/removed from where they were being stored. I wonder if they've been purchased by a park somewhere?
  16. Super excited for this, we are now under a month away! I am really excited for this coaster season!
  17. Hard to tell, but keep in mind, all that has been removed of the Rim Runner so far is the drop and the splash down pool. The lift, upper trough, maintenance area (shed), station and main trough have yet to be removed. And the lift and upper trough are all in the mountain areas. Time will tell.
  18. Thanks for the photo updates! Looks like you all are having a blast!!! Was there drinking involved before the SLC? Everyone looks way to comfortable and happy about that! Wait.... that must have been a before shot! Looking forward to following the rest of these updates!!
  19. Thanks for sharing!! Amazing what has been done in just two weeks since the races, that area is now almost completely clear.
  20. Hey everyone! Just got back home from a quick update from the Adventuredome, this will be the last update for a couple of weeks as tonight marks the start of Spring Break here in Vegas and the dome will be crazy busy all week with the schools being closed this week. Lots of progress has been done in the after hours. The area for El Loco seems to be almost completely cleared to the concrete floor of the park. The Rim Runner's sign has also finally been removed. Have a great Spring Break everyone! The Rim Runner's logo has finally been removed! A closer look. A look at the beginning of the trough. Amazing to know a few weeks ago there was water flowing through here. Fun to see how close the ride interacted with Canyon Blaster. Look how much space has opened up here. Thought this shot would be better with a train in it... no? The final turn into the station is now being demolished. They've been sawing away! They have almost completely cleared the footprint of the new ride. The former splashdown pool From ground level. Absolutely amazing progress.
  21. Amazing absolutely amazing!! All I can say is THANK YOU!
  22. Just a heads up if anyone is coming to town. Adventuredome through March 30, will be operating 10:00AM - 12:00AM for Spring Break After Spring Break, the park will start to open at 11:00AM on weekdays, assuming this is for demo work on Rim Runner after hours. The Park's schedule is posted through the end of May. Mon-Thurs the park is open from 11:00AM - 6:00PM. Fri-Sat 10:00AM - 12:00AM Sun 10:00AM - 9:00PM
  23. Personally the "Snap" some B&Ms have into the final brake run. For example the last turn into the final brake run on Cedar Point's Raptor.
  24. And the Royal Caribbean issue on Oasis of the Seas was vessel maneuverability, not a catastrophic failure like a fire or loss of power. I am still amazed by how big the Azipods are for Oasis and Allure, they are true engineering marvels!
  25. And this couldn't be more true. It is exactly what Wet 'n' Wild is doing. All of their billboards state "We're Back!"
