  1. The roof of the New York New York Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas to replace Manhattan Express. (I win)
  2. It has been so much fun with social media and websites keeping tabs on the construction of new rides and attractions, I remember following the construction of Millennium Force and SFMM's Goliath in 1999-2000, and updates were not as frequent, and now parks supply us with a lot of updates some daily/weekly. Amazing PR work by Silver Dollar City!
  3. The below artwork was from a Vegas blog page and it was shared on the Adventuredome's Facebook Page. I will be heading to the park today after work to photo update any changes that may have happened during the past 4 days that the park was closed. Concept Art from the Adventuredome's Facebook Page.
  4. Press Release World-Class, Record-Breaking Roller Coaster Speeding to the Adventuredome at Circus Circus Las Vegas MGM Resorts International MGM | 2/7/2013 7:56:00 PM World-Class, Record-Breaking Roller Coaster Speeding to the Adventuredome at Circus Circus Las Vegas America's Largest Indoor Theme Park Prepares for Thrilling New Ride LAS VEGAS, Feb. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Coming soon to The Adventuredome at Circus Circus Las Vegas, roller coaster fans get ready for negative G drops, gravity-defying turns and over-the-edge twists! Only the second of its kind in the United States, El Loco, The Adventuredome's newest roller coaster, will offer thrill seekers a unique and exhilarating ride experience in a custom and compact design guaranteed to excite all. The Adventuredome will begin construction on El Loco in the coming weeks and the coaster will be ready for screams and thrills in December. Designed by S&S Worldwide, Inc., the world's leading manufacturer of vertical and family thrill rides, El Loco roller coasters are famous for their record-breaking steep first drops and one-of-a-kind moves. With only five other El Loco coasters worldwide, the addition of the ride to America's largest indoor theme park will provide Vegas visitors an exclusive opportunity. "The addition of El Loco to The Adventuredome is a significant move in our efforts to entice a new generation of roller coaster lovers," said Tom Nolan, vice president of operations for The Adventuredome. Accompanied by a customized soundtrack, El Loco will deliver new and unique coaster elements that drop, turn and twist the rider in ways not previously experienced. Riders will ascend 70 feet before diving over and under in a backwards motion, delivering a negative 1.5 "vertical-G". The ride's unique elements, including a 45-degree outwardly banked turn, a greater-than-straight-down diving drop, and a 180-degree turn that races over the edge into a barrel roll, will provide guests with an extraordinarily thrilling adventure. Offering one of the smoothest rides in the business, El Loco's innovative, four-person cars feature an open design which will give riders the feeling of flying during the 75-second ride along 1,300 feet of track. The El Loco design pushes the limits of what can be accomplished in a small footprint, maximizing space with a soaring, eye-catching structure set to be the new focal point of The Adventuredome. While The Adventuredome says "hola" to El Loco, it waved "adios" to the iconic Rim Runner. The new action-packed El Loco will take the place of the Rim Runner flume ride, one of the park's four original attractions. "We are committed to reinventing The Adventuredome experience with fresh and exciting rides for new and repeat guests," said Nolan. El Loco, designed by S&S Worldwide, Inc., will have riders dropping, turning and twisting in some unique ways. The ride includes a 70-foot ascension before plunging over and backwards in a 95 degree motion and delivering a negative 1.5 “vertical-G.” Guests will be sent on a 45-degree outwardly banked turn, a greater-than-straight-down diving drop, and a 180-degree turn that races over the edge into a barrel roll. (In case you wondered, this all sounds like a pretty typical day at momentum World HQ.) The new, 75-second yellow and black ride features open design cars that will make the four riders feel like they are flying along the 1,300 feet of track. The other four El Loco roller coasters are in Indiana, France, Australia, U.K. and China. Riders will have to be at least 48 inches tall to go on El Loco, which joins The Adventuredome’s 25 other rides and attractions spread throughout five acres. 5. I love the direction the company I work for is going! I thought this partnership was a brilliant move!
  6. I also love the fact that the company isn't trying to beat itself with another larger than life ship. The new ships will have a capacity of 4,100 which is less than the 5,400 passenger Oasis Class Ships. Bigger isn't always better! It will be fun once again to follow the construction of these ships, it was truly a treat watching the construction and sea trials of Oasis and Allure of the Seas. The power of social media!
  7. Take a look at the link below. Very exciting news! A Quantum Leap Forward in Cruising
  8. One thing I have noticed as well is that the boats are very similar to Snake River Falls at Cedar Point, maybe some of the parts from Rim Runner can be used for that ride?
  9. They are not wasting any time! The park is now closed through Friday and I wanted to stop by before work to see if anything was being done. As I pulled up they were unloading the last of the boats off of a trailer in the parking lot behind Adventuredome. Keep in mind, the ride has only been closed for 12 hours. Photos are below, this was as close as I could get to them because I had to get to work. I will try and stop by for a closer look later this evening. Enjoy! This appears to be a very old boat that hasn't been used in a very long time. The boats that were painted a couple of years ago are the ones they have been using. Death Row
  10. From everyone I have talked to. The rocks are out, since most of the mountains surround Rim Runner. They will be removing most if not all the rock work.
  11. Adventuredome will be closed until Friday. I will visit the park Friday and snap a photo update of any work that occurs on the demolition of the Rim Runner in the upcoming week.
  12. I just got off the last public ride ever of the Rim Runner. RIP
  13. Sorry to bump a really old thread, but FLIPDUDE, how is your book doing?
  14. The Coney Island Cyclone. That first turn slams you and I think I got a free spine alignment on that ride! I was riding in a row by myself, that was a mistake haha!
  15. Canyon Blaster Yesterday! Canyon Blaster at Adventuredome
  16. And a lot of other hotels as well. Buffalo Bill's got some of it, the "D" Downtown got some. In many ways the older hotels totally benefited from it and got all new furnishings at dirt cheap pricing. Unfortunately, I believe that this, Echelon, Venetian's unfinished tower and SkyVue will all become horrible eyesores for years to come. I also think that Speed: The Ride will sit and rot in pieces for who knows how long.
  17. Correct, but the crane is still there and every part of the lower structure is still skeleton.
  18. Elissa, have you ever considered doing a repositioning cruise? I have considered it, taking a long journey like a transcontinental cruise and flying back. My favorite days are the days at sea.
  19. HAHA Touche, though not a dominant feature of the entire park.
  20. Just like Fontainbleau..... Been sitting in its current state for over 3 years now. The north end of the strip looks so sad and pathetic.
  21. Mall of America doesn't have a mountain and I think it looks okay
  22. Below are the links to the two photo updates I recently took at the Adventuredome. I will be posting future updates to this forum should anything change at the park. 1/13/2013 Adventuredome Photo Update 1/18/2013 Adventuredome Photo Update
  23. I've been posting updates to the Adventuredome in Las Vegas thread
