From what I was told last time I was down there, a few weeks ago, they are installing all new track, along with a new ride control system. I didn't get too much of the details, but someone correct me if I'm wrong. -RD -
Congrats! -RD

Pirates of Emerson in Fremont. The detail and such is amazing, way about any Haunt Maze. -RD

HHN (Hollywood) Trip Report
Bush985 replied to CKY Lunatic's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It stinks that its so hard to do everything in one night. Thats once of the nice things about Haunt, you can do all the Haunted Attractions in a decent amount of time. I think with all these bad reviews so far, I'm going to pass on this years HHN. Maybe they will add a few more attractions next year, which will greatly help reduce lines. -RD -

Rick, Go on Friday with me. Wally my offer is still up. I think I want to do one more night before the end of the month. Rick they did a great job with you. I spent more time scaring folks though than touring hte park to ride the rides. I actually was getting better scares than some of the Scare Zone Zombies, which was pretty funny. Here is too those awesome Metal Finger Gloves! Just in case you missed it... a Link to my Photo TR from Friday. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=30076 -RD -

Last night Sarah and I had the chance to hit up Fright Fest again, for the second time, being a monster. I did it by myself last time we went, and Sarah just followed us around, but this time she wanted to do it, so it was on. We got to the park early, and went in to check out the animals, as Sarah had never been to that area before. We also scoped out some good scare spots for our Fright Fest time. About 4:00 we met up with Al, SFMW's Public Relations, and headed back to meet up with some of the other people participating in the nights event. Al next took us to go get some dinner back at Papa Johns. Then we headed over to check out the funeral procession at 5PM. After the funeral procession it was back off to the makeup area. We spent about an hour waiting our turn to get our monsters looks. It was a pretty fun hour though, as we were able to watch some of the scare zone monsters and Brutal Planet monsters get their makeup done. Finally it was our turn. Sarah went first, and I was next. The makeup didn't take long, mine was a basic airbrush, with some fake latex/gelatin blood on top. SHe had to make it by melting some gelatin in a cup, and applied it to my face. It was time to head out into the night. The purpose of the coaster ghouls is to fill in empty seats on the trains and have guests look over and see a ghoul sitting next to them. I decided to step up my costume this time and made some metal tip gloves, which proved to be an amazing scare tactic at the end of the night. Loud Noise = Screaming Girls... We hit all the major coasters in the park, and spent the rest of the time running around scaring people. The best part of this event, is you have free reign of the park. Your not only stuck to one scare zone... We hung out in Medusa Plaza, Roar Plaza, The Entrance Plaza. It was awesome. Its fun to send a full grown adult running and screaming by a simple scare. Needless to say, enough of me rambling... Onto the pictures. Zombie Zone.. Yep it's SFMW's Fright Fest 06' Mmm.. Fog... The funeral procession begins Not a ton of monsters, but probably about 20 or 30. Ahh... The ghouls bring out the hearse... A girl in the back of course. Another shot. A tribute to the Old School Marine World, Pre Six Flags. Time to await our transformation. Sarah ready to be transformed in costume. Sarah was up first in the makeup chair. My finished airbrush job. Time for some blood. The blood was probably about 110 degrees fresh outta the microwave, burning the hell out of my face. Painful... Yes My finished look. In true Vallejo fashion, one of our other coaster ghouls in a "drive by shooting." Sarah and I ready to go out into the park... But I get hungry first... Do I have dangler? A final picture from the night. Us hanging out in the Medusa station waiting for a few rides. This is what I looked like last time I did Fright Fest on 9/30 Needless to say we had a great time. Six Flags Marine World was awesome for letting us do this. I can't wait to possibly do this one more time. A big thanks to the Public Relations team including Al Garcia for all their help and a great event, and ACE for setting the event up. Also thanks to Sarah for letting me drag you out to this.. -RD

Tower of Terror for Holllows Eve
Bush985 replied to Entropy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Don and I went today and hit it up. The decorations and such are pretty cool, and the lightning and elevator crash sounds that have been added are also nice. I'll get some pics tomorrow, when im back in the park. -RD -
I used to do this before i moved to San Jose, up in Sacramento. I miss doing it, and will do it again when I get my own place. I really can't wait, I have a blast scaring people. -RD

Guy, I agree, Dead Idol falls far short of past Haunt shows. I was very dissapointed, and they constantly have technical difficulties. The worst part of the show is it isn't even funny. -RD
-
Yea, the parent was about 200 ft away getting autographs from Woody. Pretty sad. -RD

Alright Day two time. We woke up around 10 and hit DLR for a few hours, then headed over to KBF for the great off-season visit. None the less, it was off to Haunt for opening night. We woke up Friday morning and headed home. I'll be back down this Thur - Sat for a few festivities. I'll be sure to have another Photo TR.. Needless to say... Picture time! Strapped with my arms, ready to take down a monster. Thanks for reading. Final Pictures from Haunt. Didn't take many. Dark Realm with Laser Guns is actually kinda fun. It's Haunt Time! The GTS Monsters enjoy Don's new Tattoo. It's Pat & Oscars time again. So damn good. The Breadsticks are amazing. Time to ride the POS Ghostrider. Ouch. I haven't ridden in a few years and im kinda glad. Don is fascinated with Bears I guess Yea.. Theme Park Review in the house... Don found a way to leave his mark on "Hatchet High." We checked out the mazes as we walked around too. Possibly the best log ride ever. Timber Mountain decked out in Halloween theming. Xcelerator... No Line. Supreme Scream... No LIne. Random Fun We then hit up Peanuts Playhouse! When did they take out the show scenes? I haven't been through since I was a kid. ... Not before some GR8 SK8 though! Don is ready for Haunt. Yes that is real. Gotta love Knotts during the offseason too! Eagerness awaits... It's Bullet time. Well time for a nice shot at least. Ok enough of DLR, time for some KBF... Isn't it Haunt time yet? Unf. we were one day early for HMH. OH well will have to see it on Friday. Did I mention I love the off-season. The pumpkin is also done with it's base in place. Day Two at Disneyland shows more changes to the resort as Halloween Time approachtes. Leaving the Hotel, Don is already raring to go.
