  1. I wonder what this will be? According to screamescape they have submitted a planning permission for an attraction with a height of 25-28 meters. More news is coming this week according to the park https://www.facebook.com/djurssommerland/videos/10153484123031831/
  2. What's a Blitz coaster? Took the words out of my mouth I just saw that Intamin have changed the model name from Blitz coaster to LSM coaster but here it is anyway www.intaminworldwide.com/amusement/RollerCoasters/LSM+Launch+Coaster/tabid/138/ProductNumber/LSM+Launch+Coaster/language/de-DE/Default.aspx
  3. I visited by myself back in 2006 and I can't disagree more- I had an amazing time! There was so much to explore and discover- I didn't even get to all the areas of the park until my second day. Buying a ticket at the gate was no issue whatsoever, and I never at any point felt unwelcome. Sure, everything wasn't in English, but I'll always remember trying to go to the buffet for a last night dinner, but it was rented out for a private party. I had to ask for an English menu, but it was available, and as a college student on a budget in the Hotel Colosseo there really wasn't anything more welcoming the hostess could do than excitedly point out the more affordable menu items in the fancy restaurant to encourage me to dine there (ended up splurging on rabbit instead- so so worth it). I can't wait to get the chance to go back and stay at one of their hotels. Operations wise I remember never waiting more than maybe 45 minutes for maybe 2-3 rides, but most were less. I was also amazed that on the second day the park was MUCH more crowded, but thanks to the operations and running more trains the line wait times were practically identical. I loved Phantasialand as well, but I felt like there were many more multilingual staff at Europa. I hope you'd give them another visit and reconsider. Looking forward to seeing all the photos, and hope all the first timers are loving it! I went by myself two times last year with both visits including 4 nights on one of their hotels and 3 days in the park. Both times everyone was very nice and i felt very welcome. I have no problem waiting in line when i know they are working as hard as they can to send the trains around. With what i saw there is really no need for a single rider line since they fill up the seats anyway and the single rider line on Blue fire and Wodan was just as long as the regular line so it did not matter anyway I went this year aswell with a friend this time and had a great time, I am already looking forward to the next time i get to visit this fantastic park
  4. Kärnan is one of the best rollercoasters I have ridden, it really is an amazing ride
  5. From the Wildfire thread: "Wildfire will not open today due to technical problems. The manufacturers have made us aware of a potential defect on a part in the trains. We have not detected any fault on our trains, but for us it is a matter of following the instructions from the manufacturers of the attraction. We are very sorry for those who where looking forward to ride Wildfire today and the next few days. We are working hard to move as quickly as possible to get Wildfire up and running, but we anticipate that it will take at least 3-5 days."
  6. I do not think Kärnan is rough, It is shuffeling a bit but with those restraints it doesn't matter. Kärnan is a fantastic ride and is in my top 5
  7. Well this looks interesting... Good layout and pacing though but the transitions looks awful
  8. I am making a recreation of Schwur des Kärnan at Hansa Park. It`s not finished yet so the pictures below are of work in progress. It`s almost finished, the only things remaining are some finishing touches on the building and some effects. I could use help with some scripting 1: I need a script for opening doors by a trigger. For example: the train pass the trigger and the first door opens after 60 seconds, the second door open 20 seconds after the first door and so on. 2: I need some lights, i need to make a lightshow that start by a trigger and the lights turn on and off in a certain order, and change colors.
  9. Hello I was just wondering if you are going to Hansa Park anytime soon? And if so would it be possible for you to film a lights on POV of Kärnan and Novgorod?
  10. Norway's "Hurtigruten" just announced that they are building at least 2 new "explorer ships". They will be built at "Kleven shipyard" in Norway and the first will be ready in 2018 and the second in 2019. They also have a contract for 2 extra vessels if they need them. The vessels will sail in the arctic areas. I LOVE the design
  11. I filmed the preshow of Kärnan this week. Before you enter the train you enter this round room full of doors. There are 4 rows that hold 4 people each. Then the show starts and "Kärnans spell" selects your row by opening one random gate and one random door and so on. So you never know witch row you end up in.
  12. I read an interview with Walter Bolliger about Silver Star and he explained that they wanted to create "long" airtime. I think they aim at having exactly 0G over the entire hill and the trims will then regulate the speed of the train to reach this and give the same ride experience for everyone.
  13. The "Royal Promenade" concept was first used on another Norwegian ferry, the "Silja Symphony", which was built at Masa Yards back in 1991. Royal Caribbean's "Voyager" class, and later "Freedom" and "Oasis"* classes, all had Royal Promenades inspired by the Silja ships, and were also built at Masa Yards (although Masa was bought out and changed their name to Aker Yards while Freedom of the Seas was being built). Not surprisingly, the Color Line ships with the promenade were also built at Masa/Aker Yards. *To be technical, the second two Oasis-class ships aren't being built at the same shipyard. Aker yards was purchased by a Korean company called STX while Oasis of the Seas was being built, and STX owned it when Allure was built. When it came time to build the next two, STX couldn't get the Finnish government to give them a subsidized loan, so they moved construction of the new Oasis-class ships to another shipyard they owned in France (and got a nice loan from the French government). Presumably STX still owns whatever patents or trade secrets are involved in building ships with a large internal promenade so they can move the construction around as they see fit. Actually "Silja Symphony" is Sweedish But yes you are right "Silja Symphony" and her sistership "Silja Serenade" was the first ships with inndoor promenade decks, unless you count the gigantic 3 deck high ballroom onboard the SS "Normandie" as a promenade
  14. Here I have something a bit different for you This is a virtual tour of the Norwegian ferry company "Color Line`s" MV "Color Fantasy". It is a overnight ferry that goes from "Oslo" in Norway to "Kiel" in Germany. As you can see the ferry is inspired by RCCL`s freedom class vessels though i think these ferries are even nicer Virtual tour Color Fantasy
  15. I am making a recreation of Fluch Von Novgorod in Hansa Park. I have some screenshots for you but the ride is far from finished. A few questions: I can`t get the finished doorscript included in the game to work, anyone have some tips? And is it possible in some way to theme the doors included in the game? It is possible to upload images and videos in to the game for them to play as a scene object? Station building Queue Station Preshow area Launch and brake
  16. Remember the lanterns on the back of Kärnans train? Well they light up at night There is some lights at the front of the train aswell wich means that I was lucky enough to get a front row lights on ride I was geeking out so bad By the way do anyone know the lift speed of Kärnan? it's hauling up that lift! Kärnan looking good Here you see the lights on the train (sorry for the crappy photo)
  17. The part before the second drop where quite bumpy last year but not the following turn and hill, weird... Maybe the old trains handled rough track sections better?
