  1. Visited Thorpe for the first time since 2014 today. The park is looking a bit run down in places, however one thing that has improved significantly since my last visit is the operations! Everything was running at full capacity and operated very efficiently with little to no stacking Saw was also running great, colossus not as great. And the new soundtrack they recieved for the whole park from IMAScore a couple of years ago is fantastic! All in all I had a great day at Thorpe Park
  2. 3D was put back on yesterday, the reason they where running it in 2D was because the machine that clean the glasses was broken
  3. Thanks for the tips We did not manage to be there before opening, however we managed to get on all the rides we wanted and even rode Indiana Jones and Journey to the center of the earth twice! We had a fantastic day and I can’t wait to go back and explore all of the Resort in the future DisneySea has now become my number one park
  4. I am going to Tokyo DisneySea for the first time tomorrow and I wondered if anyone have ant tips on what not to miss? I know it will be absolutely packed tomorrow because of public holidays in Japan, I only have one full day since I work on a cruiseship and we sail the next day. So any tips on how to get the most out of my day would be great
  5. Definately Europa Park. Great food, great rides, great atmosphere and fantastic operations!
  6. ^ Last time I rode it it gave me a headache, in the last couple of years you could feel every track connection Good to hear it is smooth again
  7. I mean ideally I'll be going to both Haven't done either, just have no idea how busy either of them are really around this time of year, never been to Germany before. Sounds good I don’t think it will be very busy during that time so you should be fine
  8. ^ If I where you I would go to Hansa Park instead as it is about the same distance away from Hamburg and you will have a much better day there Regardless of where you go weekdays will be best as weekends are usually significantly busier.
  9. Well that was unexpected, this looks great
  10. They should do what Europa Park did with Wodan Timburcoaster and install toilets halfway through the line.
  11. ^ I'm thinking it has something to do with when the coaster was actually ordered and if the new design was available at the time.
  12. Michael Mack just tweeted the first trailer for Piraten in Batavia and it's awesome (English subtitles are available)
  13. Those trims where there before they closed it, you could not feel them at all
  14. ^They have not said anything about it, but it certainly looks like it is trackless And if they are limited on space I would think you could fit in "more" ride if it is trackless.
  15. Europa Park's opening day is tomorrow and they have released their annual video about all the new things happening this year. Some of the new stuff is: - The Scandinavia themed area will reopen in the end of May. - There will be a darkride in the cellar of the Scandinavian area called Snorri Touren (Named after the mascot for the new waterpark) this will open in the fall. - Eurosat Can Can Coaster have been updated with new and improved theming, a new scene after the brakerun, and the trimbrakes have been reduced so that the ride is now running as fast as it was before the refurb. - Madame Freudenreich Curiosités have also received additional theming. - The new waterpark Rulantica will open in November and the new hotel Krønasår will open in may. - They have also released concept art for the new Piraten in Batavia that will open in 2020, as well as an exhibition in what was previously the Mack Bank with concept art and a animatronic from the new ride. New animatronic: I think this looks absolutely fantastic! And it is impressive how quickly they are recovering from the fire New Piraten in Batavia The restaurant at the end of Batavia New animatronic
  16. Because of Brexit Europa Park will remove the English themed area
  17. Tusenfryd is still improving Thundercoaster. They are now retracking the first drop and the following turn. I believe this is the last section to be retracked and when the ride opens the entire ride has been refurbished It should hopefully ride as good as it did before they got the timberlines Source
  18. Turns out construction is well underway There is also some drone footage in this news article: Link
  19. Today Kongeparken announced their new attraction for 2019: STUPET STUPET (The cliff in English) will be an 80 meter tall droptower delivered by Funtime. The attraction will be located in the highest point in the park making the highest point of the tower 246 meters above sea level. Guests will enter the attraction through a 12 meter tall portal and make their way through a steep queueline resembling a normal Norwegian hiking-trail. The trail is supposed to be challenging and as the owner said during the announcement: "If you got a couple of kilograms to many it can be a bit exhausting" The tower will have a unique feature: From park opening to 13:00 it will function as an observation tower. From 14:00 until closing it will function as a drop tower. However between 13:00 and 14:00 this will be randomized so that you never know if it will simply be lowered slowly to the ground or drop! Kongeparken is located outside of Stavanger on the west coast of Norway. The park recently got a new CEO and he wants to draw in more people in the demographic of 16 years and over, this is the first step in doing that.
  20. ^ Oh your right, I didn’t see those.
  21. ^ And this expansion is going where the Efteling Hotel is and next to the highway so I can't see it being visible from the houses anyway
  22. Ok so this is not specifically Alton Towers, but its too good to not post. At 1:30 in this video the Chief Executive Officer of Merlin Entertainment says: "One of the things that I think Merlin leads the whole world in at the moment is themed accommodation. I think we do it better than anybody else"... What have this guy been smoking What about Disney, Universal, Europa Park, Phantasialand, Efteling, Port Aventura, even Fårup sommerland have better accommodation!
  23. ^ I think it was Heide Park if I remember correctly I don't see how anyone would pay that price to sleep in a shed and walk across a field to use one of 12 bathrooms shared with 400 people
  24. Yeah, but the difference here was this was a theme park ride with average guests. Not skiers, active, and dressed for cold weather. Yeah that’s true I think it will be fine though
  25. I’m not from California and don’t really know how things work there. However if every gondola/ chairlift in Norway had to be removed after a breakdown all our ski resorts would be out of business And when they stop the temperature is usually between -5C to -20C (23F to -4F)
