  1. The seat assignment is completely random, but if you haven't been there since Kärnan`s opening season I think you will be pleasantly surprised by how they do it There is no longer a single rider line.
  2. This is a bit of a weird and nerdy question but anyway I watched a POV of dragster and I noticed it has a million censors in the station and on the brakerun, this is the only coaster I have seen this on, my question is why is this necessary?
  3. Did they not just add a large new rapids ride last year, definitely counts as a new attraction and definitely not a small one Yep, and a pretty good rapids too!
  4. A few things, I like the standard train design better, I like the layout better, the last few airtimehills and the s-bend is fantastic, the atmosphere in the queue and station is way better and finally the operations on Silver Star are fantastic, even on 3 trains no stacking whatsoever!
  5. Mine are: 1. Schwur des Kärnan (actually my all time favorite!) 2. Silver Star 3. Shambhala
  6. BOOOIIIIII. You better check them sources before claiming stuff, lol. You should read that post again... Maybe you should? He said B&M doesn't use the term "hyper"... just saying. No, he said B&M don`t use the term hyper on their dive coasters and other looping coasters that are 200+ feet tall...
  7. BOOOIIIIII. You better check them sources before claiming stuff, lol. You should read that post again...
  8. Finally your trip reports are back! I have missed them Dubai looks great, I have to visit some time
  9. I rode it two days ago, the effects in the tower is the same as last year, however you definately notice that the drop is longer! And the new queue is fantastic!
  10. Something a bit out of the ordinary I recently had a mini-cruise with "Fjord Line" From Bergen, Norway to Hirtshals, Denmark. So i thought i would share some photos with you. The ship i sailed on was the almost new (2014) MS Bergensfjord. The ship leaves Bergen at 13.30 and arrive in Hirtshals the next morning at 08.00, then you can choose to stay on the ship up to "Langesund, Norway and back, or you can spend the day in Denmark. Since the ship don`t leave for Bergen until 20.00 you have 12 hours to spend in Denmark. I choose to spend the day in Denmark and drove to Aalborg. Then the ship Leave Hirtshals at 20.00 and arrive Bergen 12.30 the next day. This is the ship i sailed on Here is the route: Bergen-Stavanger-Hirtshals-Langesund-Hirtshals-Stavanger-Bergen Here it comes (crappy photo from my car) My cabin Bathroom Easy to remember where your car is on the car deck View of Bergen from my cabin Some photos from around the ship One of the restaurants Lounge in the front of the ship with big windows so you can enjoy the view A delicious and cheap! Mojito (at least cheap by Norwegian standards...) Beautiful view This is where passengers without a car board the ship This used to be a Tapas bar, but have now been converted in to a sportsbar Sailing past my hometown "Haugesund" The "Karmsund" bridge Avaldsnes church opened in year 1250. To the left in the photo is the Avaldsnes viking village, they have reconstructed the viking village that used to be there based on the ruins found at the site LNG tankers laid-up A little lounge This is the self-service restaurant The buffet restaurant where I had a delicious breakfast This huge painting used to hang in the dining room of the Norwegian America Line`s ship "Bergensfjord" built in 1956 You can see it in the background here Waiting for the ship in Hirtshals Hirtshals lighthouse Time for dinner! Really tall chairs This is the BEST steak dinner i have ever had! All Norwegians favorite thing... CHEAP ALCOHOL! They also have candy, chocolate, clothes, perfume, tobacco and so on A model of the ship Arriving Bergen again
  11. Good news! The project leader is hoping the financing is ready by easter or at least by july. The future of the project have never been looking brighter than now. Not one of the companies asked for financing have declined. The earliest possible opening for the park is in 2020 Source (In norwegian and requires subscription)
  12. It has always been a freefall, they have just extended it so the train reach a higher speed before the brakes
  13. That should be interesting Anyone know how the crowds usually is during easter?
  14. Do these people have their own "hate on Robb Facebook page"? I can't believe some people
  15. That's awesome! What did you think of Fluch and Kärnan? I've heard Kärnan is rough, is that true? I thought they where fantastic! Kärnan is now my number 1 coaster I don`t think it is rough, slight shuffle here and there but with the comfy restraints it doesn`t matter
  16. This is really worth a listen Highasakite is a critically acclaimed band from Norway!
  17. They also run Mirabilandia, Movie Park Germany and Kennywood, I wouldn't worry too much
  18. They announced today that they have signed a deal with "Parques Reunidos" to run the park. Parques Reunidos also run Tusenfryd and Bø Sommarland in Norway Source (Norwegian)
  19. I just returned from a visit myself and it said nothing on the booking confirmation about the ERT. But it is free for ALL hotelguests They give you bracelets for it when you check in
  20. I have just returned from a wonderful trip to Phantasialand I have wanted to visit Phantasialand for many years and I finally got the chance I stayed at the Hotel Ling Bao for 3 nights and I got a 3-day pass when i ordered the hotel. Since my flight home was in the evening i could spend half of that day in the park so I had a total of 2,5 days in the park In october the park opens up the new Klugheim area half an hour after the park closes for the hotel guest, the area looked fantastic at night and allowed for loads of re-rides I was really lucky because no rides had more than a 15 minute wait. Only Taron had a queue of 45-80 minutes all day but I had the ERT in the evening so it didn`t bother me So here come my thoughts and reviews of the park and loads of photos Hotel Ling Bao The hotel was fantastic! Great room, great food and great service! My room Beautiful garden I thought this was cool Since it was my first visit i wanted to use the main entrance instead of the entrance in the garden of the hotel Such a beautiful carousel After all these years I am finally here Black Mamba would be my first ride And what a ride! Way more intense than I thought it would be. I have only ridden one other B&M invert and that is Nemesis Inferno and I thought Black Mamba was much better. Some great footchoppers and quite a long layout with some fantastic helixes at the end. And the whole area is just beautiful and really immersive. Track everywhere Colorado Adventure And holy crap this is a wild ride! I was not expecting airtime on a mine train this is definitely a back row ride! River quest I have heard great things about this ride. Let me just say it did not disappoint This must be the weirdest and most awesome rapids ride ever! Guess what happened to me... Mystery castle I loved this! Great queue with a creepy atmosphere, not very intense but so much fun They even had actors in the queue! Creepy professor Good madhouse but the preshow was weird. I also rode Gheister Rikscha which was really weird and in need of an update. This was really fun and it smells delicious inside here Two great spinning coasters, quite different though, the trick track was a nice twist to make the rides a bit more interesting, I personally think fear is the best, it had more airtime, a bigger drop and a longer section at the end with some good forces. Up the hill to two of the strangest rides I have ever been on... Hollywood tour started out great with a surprisingly nice "cave" but then everything after was really outdated, uninteresting and boring. Worst ride in the park by far! Really forceless and boring coaster in complete darkness that lasted forever. At least it was smooth... Temple of the Nighthawk`s VERY green station. I am not usually a big fan of flatrides, but Talocan was AWESOME! So much fun! This Is the best log flume i have ever been on! I loved it, great music, great theming and Intamin`s new log flume system is GREAT! More parks should install these. Let`s talk about Raik first. I was surprised at how tall it is, looks huge for a family ride. The trains are really comfortable and much wider than they appear on photos. The ride was actually quite forceful and thanks to the trench it feels really fast. Overall a great ride and wonderful for families. So much detail Station of... TARON! Holy crap what a ride! The anticipation when slowly creeping around the corner out of the station with the music playing is unreal. The first launch is quite forceful and the first airtime hill is fantastic and coming out of the hill was some surprising laterals before being whipped trough the fastest direction change on the entire ride. After this is a nice slightly calmer section around the Klugheim area with some tunnels and interaction with the different buildings. Then the second launch kicks in and this is when things get crazy. You gain some serious speed before you fly past some waterfalls which might get you a bit wet. Then comes a serious of direction changes and a really intense overbank into more airtime-packed direction changes until you fly into the brakes. This is definitely a top 5 ride for me! And i have to talk about the restraints. I think they are even better than Macks lapbars. They are really comfortable and they don`t tighten at all during the ride. And they are really roomy so you get some nice floater air like you would with the B&M clamshells. Sexy Intamin track In the hotel ERT there was no line at all so i had loads of re-rides I hope you enjoyed my trip report
  21. If you are there for more than one day I would say try everything non-kiddie you can. A few additions to flaffstar's points about non-coaster attractions: - Mystery Castle runs two settings: One short one in the morning and a longer, much better setting in the afternoon. They usually switch to the longer setting at around 2pm, so try to get on that one if you only have time to ride once. - Wakobato does not run on Sundays due to noise complaints of the near residents. It's quite boring so you won't miss much but if you do want to ride it, keep that in mind in case you are there on a Sunday. - River Quest is also a must in my opinion. Keep in mind though that you can get really(!) soaked on it if you are unlucky. - Tikal is easily overlooked, but is also quite fun. - Hotel Tartüff is a fun funhouse. - The entrances to Hollywood Tour and Temple of the Nighthawk are quite hidden and easily overlooked. Grab a map at the entrance. Do them together and Hollywood Tour first so you don't have to climb the hill again. - The shows are overall quite good, so if you like shows and got some time on your handy give them a try if you want. - Usual coaster tips: Try to ride first and last rows and see what you like better. Though Colorado should be ridden in the IMHO much better last row. As always before any visit: Try not to spoil yourself to much in advance. Oh and don't forget to get your coaster credits and bring some pics Luckily I am getting 2 full days and 1 half day since my flight home is in the evening Thanks for the great tips
