  1. The Italian Job at PCW. About a 20 minute drive from me.
  2. Where in Toronto?
  3. Coasterkid. 126 [counting racing coasters as one credit].
  4. On Shivering Timbers in August. We didn't actually plan to both cover our faces. I hate being in pictures and my boyfriend just ended up doing the same thing. My least favorite part of any coaster = onride photos.
  5. I don't understand how something that holds your entire upper body in is more free of movement, but I guess to each their own. Thank you! I've been looking for a review of American Eagle all day. The site I usually get reviews on specific rides/coasters from is down for some reason and I haven't found anything else yet except reviews of entire parks. I didn't really want to post a thread asking for reviews of a bunch of coasters, so your comment was very helpful.
  6. That's good to hear. I get to ride American Eagle at SFGam this summer, I hope that one is smooth even though it's fairly old [any ideas?], but the ones I really want to ride [Colossus and Balder] will probably have to wait a while since they're so far away from me and I don't have the funds for a trip like that.
  7. ^I'm pretty sure I haven't been on an Intamin woodie so I would have no idea, but I still don't think OTSRs on a woodie would be a good idea.
  8. ^If I'm correct OTSR stands for over the shoulder restraint...OTSRs on a woodie? From what I've experienced OTSRs limit movement, T-bars just hold your lower body in. Woodies provide an 'out of control' feeling, which would be defeated by an OTSR. I guess if a t-bar was stapled tight you wouldn't fly out of your seat as much, but that's how it is with any restraint and it would be MUCH worse with a restraint going over your shoulders. Also, imagine how much a restraint like that would hurt on a rough woodie.
  9. I've only been on two, Top Gun at PCW and Thunderhawk at Geauga Lake, but I don't like either of them. They were both very rough and there was a lot of headbanging involved, even if I tried to keep my head against one side of the restraint to keep it from banging back and forth. I did think Top Gun was pretty impressive when it first opened when I was 11, but even then I thought it was painful..the first night I rode it I saw a woman walk off with her head bleeding [not sure what the situation was though, could've had an earring ripped out or something]. The next year they added more padding to the restraints.
  10. Is the thing on the bottle farting?
  11. See, the reason we had Mt.Olympus and Timber Falls on different days is because while we're there Timber Falls is only open on Saturdays/Sundays and we were planning on visiting Mt.Olympus on a Friday. We actually did exactly what you mentioned and changed our plan to add an extra day at SFGam and are doing Mt.Olympus + Timber Falls on the Saturday. Not sure if we need two days for SFGam, but it seems like there's a lot to do there. We'd prefer to avoid parks on weekends as crowds will be a lot worse, but I guess that's kind of hard to avoid. Hopefully Mt.Olympus wont be too busy on the Saturday. We definately wont be missing any of the coasters [unless they're closed] as we haven't been to any of these parks before and are big credit whores. We tend to only do the flats that look neat or are recommended to us, so we'll try to get in all the ones you guys recommended [except Mr.Roger's Neighbourhood because those characters freak me out, yes I'm lame]. I don't think we'll be visiting any water parks, we're not big on those. Since we'll have paramount passes anyway, I think we've decided to stop at PKI for a couple hours to get in the new credit and ride Adventure Express This isn't forsure though, but even if we say we wont I'm sure we'll change our minds since we drive right by it and I can't drive by a park without riding anything. Thanks for all the help, we really appreciate it.
  12. Hmmm, that comment makes me want to ride it even more It does look really uncomfortable though, and the 90 degree lift up the tube thing doesn't look too fun. If you do happen to come across the footage some time and can either post it or somehow send it over that would be awesome.
  13. I did a search, but didn't find anything so hopefully this hasn't already been posted. I was hoping someone had video or POV of a Toboggan coaster. Doesn't really matter which one. I'm going to Lakemont Park in May/June and am being forced into riding their Toboggan. Those things terrify me, but I've never actually seen how one of them runs.
  14. This thread has been dead for a while, but I'm bringing it back anyway. I'm sure some newer members have some pets they want to show off. More Rory and Lenore pictures.. They like to cuddle a lot. Rory playing in the bathroom. Yeah that thing on the right is a toilet. Or like this. This is how they usually sleep. That little hidey house used to have a roof but they kept knocking it off so I stopped putting it back on. Bums.
  15. I'm hoping it was a fluke. I agree with those who said it wasn't on par with other episodes. While I laughed for a while at the Stewie and Brian bit, it got old kind of fast. What was up with that shaboobi song? It wasn't funny at all.
  16. ^ but not my house Very cute dog, good for you for helping out.
  17. Great pictures. I really miss Florida now, and I'm even more upset that I missed out on Sea World while I was there. I would've only had a couple hours to spend there, and $68 to go in and get a ride on each coaster wasn't really worth it I was also surprised at how wet I got on Bilge Rat Barges. It says you'll get wet, but so many rides say this and all you get are a couple of drops. I wont ever be riding that thing again. I wasn't very impressed with USF either. Islands of Adventure was amazing, but there wasn't really much to do at USF and three of the attractions were down while I was there so that was even less to do. I look forward to seeing your Busch Gardens pictures
  18. Colossus at Heide Park Superman at Warner Brothers Movie World in Madrid Expedition Ge Force at Holiday Park X at SFMM [i keep hearing bad things about it, but I still want to ride it just because I've never been on anything like it] Silver Star at Europa Park Balder at Liseburg Goliath at Walibi World Some good bobsled coasters that are longer than Avalanche at PKD There are a few I'm going to ride this summer...Voyage, Hades, the weird looking Wild Mouse at Idlewild, Leap the Dips, Superman Ultimate Flight at SFGam, Superman Ride of Steel at Darien Lake. Uhhh...I'm sure there are more.
  19. I've been a member of a couple other coaster related forums and have always left because most people seemed to take everything way too seriously and argued over the smallest details. Example = someone I know once posted a picture asking if anyone knew what coaster it was, he said he thought it was a floorless. It wasn't a floorless, but because the seats were high up it looked like one. Instead of answering the question, he was flamed for thinking it was a floorless coaster when it "clearly wasn't". I can't see that happening here. Also, valid posts/questions were deleted for no reason. My boyfriend and I planned a trip last summer, everything was already planned, but we posted asking for opinions on other smaller parks in the area that are worth visiting. Instead of offering some advice on the parks, the thread was closed and a comment saying "plan your own damn trip" was left. I don't see anything wrong with asking opinions on what parks are worth visiting, just because a park may look awesome doesn't mean it always is. In these forums I've always seen members being very helpful with sharing opinions and experiences on trip planning and which parks are a must. For the most part people here are very nice and respectful, which is hard to find..especially considering how diverse [location and age wise] the crowd here is..there's a lot of good information, the rules are few and simple, and although there is a core group of people that have been around probably since these boards started new members are always welcomed. Also, people type in actual words which is always a plus
  20. While I was on vacation in Europe my mom's wallet got stolen. Amex sent a new card 'within 5 to 7 business days' to our home, which did us no good for the next three weeks we were on vacation. Mastercard were awesome, made a bunch of calls, and had a new card ready for her in a couple hours. If I were you, I'd bring both. If you like Amex better, use it more..but if you run into a situation like we did you'll have much better luck getting your Mastercard replaced.
  21. http://www.thatvideosite.com/view/134.html edit - uhhhh, the advertisements around the video require a warning so be warned.
  22. I remember watching a show on the Discovery Channel several years ago about the manufacturer trying to sell these things at some sort of convention and nobody wanting to buy one. They said in the program that if they didn't sell one they'd give up and lose a bunch of money, but they ended up making one sale. They then had a bunch of problems in constructing the thing and the buyer almost cancelled the project. Now so many water parks have these things. I wish I remembered what the show was called.
  23. I didn't find it to be that rough, but I don't really make a point of riding it every time I'm at CP. I'm a girl and it still hurt my crotchal region, so I can only imagine how much worse it would be for a guy. After the first time I rode it, I have always made sure to leave a good deal of room between the seat and certain areas since the forces of the ride will push your body down. There was some headbanging in the second half of the ride..it actually caused my cartilage ring to start bleeding once, but it was my fault for wearing it. I still find it to be a good ride, much better than the standup at my home park, so if I were you I'd give it a try and see how you like it.
  24. This year I went in May, June and September. May [weekdays] was pretty much empty, like others have mentioned. In June [weekdays] there were A LOT of schools visiting. It wasn't too crowded, but be prepared for a lot of school trips. I also went on a weekend in September [i believe it was the 9th-11th], and it was also wasn't very crowded at all. The longest we waited was about an hour for Dragster [when it was actually open] and we waited less than an hour. Besides Dragster and Millenium Force, most rides were walk-ons.
