  2. This thread made my brain explode... and I think I drooled a little as well.

  4. The Heath Face can never be completely replicated. Nice attempt, though.
  5. Yeah, so, when I went to Epcot, Soren wasn't there. FAIL! hehe
  6. I completely agree. Elissa, I hate to degrade Intamin coasters, but is it just me or have the first three Intamin Hypers turn into complete crap. It's not the ride's fault. This was the first time I ever rode S:ROS at SFNE, and I stuck it in my #2 steel spot. It's a good ride, just a bit faded and with crappy ride operators.
  7. ^ How many credits you got, Erik? Yeah.. no... hi.. I'm not Derek.
  8. On my way home from our trip to SFNE ( http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=36805 ), I decided to stop by Sylvan Beach, which was only 9 miles out of my way. Sylvan Beach is a strange little park on Oneida Lake. It is pretty much just a bunch of rides set up on some pavement, with a little fence around it. It's free to enter, and each ride costs between 2 and 4 tickets to ride. Each ticket is 95 cents, pretty reasonable. The park has a nice family atmosphere, with lots of food stands and little arcades, a bunch of kiddy rides and a few adult rides. The main draw for me to go there was Laffland, a Pretzel dark ride built in the 1950's, as I am somewhat of a dark ride fan girl. Also, I got to do a little credit whoring on the Galaxi. On with the photos! And some cute bumper boats! Well, that's all the pictures I have, cause I only spent 45 minutes in the park. It was worth it! On the way out I took a photo of the Roll O Plane. I've never been on one; it looks pretty fun! Wooo, credit #171. And time for a credit. Actually, it broke down, and the ride ops told us to come back in 15 minutes. 15 minutes later, and the ride was running. Better than Six Flags! THERE IT IS! The ride op was wearing a red clown wig, and started my car by pulling it around the corner. There was no lap bar or seat belt! This was the ultimate in cheesy dark rides, with lots of classic stunts, and long periods of darkness that were very disorienting. I loved it! A cute little kiddy whip... only different. Um... I think I found the park! Yeah, we're right on the water! It was really warm, and lots of people were out on their boats or sitting in the shade.
  9. Yeah, it's a really nice LOOKING park. It's very pretty. If you fired every single employee, replaced them with well-trained employees with common sense, and banished 3/4 of the park patrons, it would be a really great park. But personally, I would rather visit a crappy looking park that is run well, than a really nice looking park surrounded by a bunch of idiot ride ops who don't know that one single rider + one single rider = two riders, and leave rows open on a coaster when there's a 1.5 hour queue. And not to mention park guests that smoke in line, and talk so loudly during the entire pre-show and ride of Houdini's Great Escape that if I hadn't ridden the one at GAdv I'd have no idea what was going on.
  10. I'm glad you posted these photos. I wish I could have gotten there on Bargain Day! LOL. Looks like fun!
  11. I was going to say that.
  12. Silver Comet, 2nd to last row, last sunday.
  13. I love love LOVE caves. The only one I've ever been in was Ruby Falls. I really would like to check this one out. Have I mentioned this photo TR is making me really antsy to take a trip to Branson?!
  14. Oh man, i SO want to go to SDC, and this TR is not helping.
  15. Rich and Mel are in town, the first stop on their trek to Spain! Last night after work I hung out with them for a few hours. "What is there to do in Buffalo?" they asked. "Absolutely nothing," I replied. "That's why I'm moving away." They already have later plans for Niagara Falls, so we decided to do something relatively close to their hotel. Back to the Buffalo Brewpub! Melanie had the Saranac Pomegranite Wheat (YUM!) while Rich had a Smirnoff... what a girl! I had the Brewpub's own Oatmeal Stout.
  16. ^What he is trying to say is, this event was not really a big deal, as MORE people have gotten stuck on much LARGER coasters before. And it was NOT an accident! Some of you over-exaggerators should work for the media! Hooray for sensationalizing something that isn't even worth it.
  17. That's Dr. Ruth to you.
  18. Ok, I have no idea why, but that made me laugh my ass off.. I need sleep.
  19. ^My mom writes checks at the grocery store... You bastard!
  20. YAY! Marilyn Manson themed coaster! I've been a Manson fan since 1995...
  21. Until the park issues a press release, it is NOT confirmed. Stop trying to pass off hearsay as fact.
  22. I HATE Hersheypark. But I love Angus McNasty, so it balances out.
  23. OMG! Are those vending machines on the left??? If I ever went there, I would totally get food from the machines, so I wouldn't have to reveal that I only speak English... Great TR!
  24. Very cool pictures. I love seeing parks I've never heard of. Definitely a very cute family park!
  25. Nice photos, Jeff. I particularly liked the ones of Maverick's Stengel dive; I didn't even realize it existed.
