  1. ^^ Good to hear, I might run over there Friday morning then. ^Hahaha! It's been in rehab for quite awhile, so maybe we'll get a full, 3-day haunt weekend of good rides out of it. We will see...
  2. Ghostrider is supposedly scheduled to open up again on the 21st. However, it was originally scheduled to reopen the 9th, and they extended it, so we'll see. On another note, was Xcelerator open today? It was down yesterday, having what looked to be some major work done on the launch cable/catchcar (or something completely different, I'm not an engineer). Nice update! They appear to have made a ton of progress on PP in just the last 24 hours.
  3. Dangit! I live like 20 minutes down the road and hadn't gotten around to getting the credit. If I knew, I could have just run over there sooner
  4. What's with Renegade @ VF coming in at number 50? That's even below Mean Streak.
  5. Valleyfair Nickelodeon Universe Timber Falls/Knuckleheads/Noahs Ark SFGAm Cedar Point Little Amerricka Knott's Berry Farm SFMM
  6. To get the credits, as well as some rarities (tobaggan, wild mouse with no restraints). But why someone would ever go back, is beyond me.
  7. I totally agree with Steel Venom. Especially now since they've taken both Chaos and Skyscraper out. Because of that, there's an awkwardly long walk with no rides or anything on the way to Steel Venom and Challenge Park. It definitely feels like a separate area.
  8. Dang, some friends and I are visiting GAm from out of town, and we're hitting the park on Tuesday, the 12th. I wish we could get the ERT. Either way, I'll definitely be donating though. Sounds like a good cause!
  9. I'll start with what I've been on: GCI- Gwazi, Renegade, Prowler B&M- Montu, Kumba, Raptor (CP), Mantis, Patriot, Silver Bullet, Batman the Ride (SFOT) Intamin-TTD, Millenium Force, Steel Venom, Xcelerator, Disaster Transport For GCI, it's easily Gwazi. Though I did enjoy that ride with the PTC's, it's still the least impressive one I can think of For B&M, it's a tie between Mantis and Silver Bullet. Mantis for the pain, Silver Bullet for how boring/underwhelming it is. I did like the overbank though... For Intamin, I'd have to say disaster transport. I don't hate that ride, like some do. I actually find it really enjoyable. However, it's easily at the bottom of my list as far as intamin is concerned.
  10. Ladies and Gentlemen, there is now a "boycott CP and Fastlane" facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/groups/376315829087637/ It seems the most common argument is "you're slapping your loyal season pass holders in the face!". Really? What's funny about that to me is that Season Pass holders pay so little for the services they receive compared to non-pass holders. If fastlane is so bad, use your pass the way it was meant to be used and avoid Friday-Sunday. Another (paraphrased) comment was something along the lines of "Well here we go. Corporate interest has come to Cedar Point at last. I had hoped this day would never come". Well if that's how you feel, sir, maybe you should go live in some socialist or communist regime somewhere, since that's what you prefer. At least then, everything's "Fair"
  11. ^8/10. Easy to remember, but unique. And it fits the avatar so that's a plus
  12. Donna Summer died today of Cancer. http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2012/05/17/disco-queen-donna-summer-dead-at-63-report-says/
  13. ^I'm not saying I think it's going to CP, but Kinzel leaving the company certainly doesn't rule out that park by any stretch of the imagination. After all, it's been what, 5 years since the last coaster? Sure, there is a huge chance it's going overseas. I certainly wouldn't be surprised, but citing Kinzel's retirement doesn't remove the possibility of the park adding another coaster in the next year or two.
  14. Ooh, one more good one. He goes on a mini-rant about how greedy VF is for doing this, and then.... I wonder when he'll discover the flash pass system.
  15. The SCAD tower was probably the most incredible thing I've ever ridden. Nothing compares to that moment when you realize you've been let go of, and there's nothing between you and concrete but the net (which you can't see). Glad you could experience it yourself! I enjoyed the update as always.
  16. Valleyfair's Fastlane information has now been posted on the website. The rides included are: -Corkscrew -Mad Mouse -Highroller -Monster -Renegade -Wildthing -Steel Venom -Power Tower -Thunder Canyon -Extreme Swing Exact pricing isn't layed out yet (unless you want to mess around with the check-out system to figure it out), but basically it ranges from $30 to $55 depending on the day and the number of people, like the other parks.
  17. I have a drawer full of Valleyfair employee newsletters, maps, brochures, etc. The only out of the ordinary thing I have would be a Wildthing ride flag (from the ones they have at the top of the lift).
  18. Valleyfair released their fastlane information today. The flaming has commenced! One of my personal favorites- Ok, because there definitely aren't parks outside of Cedarfair that have line cutting or line-reducing systems in place...
  19. 1. Don't complain about people having 'smug' looks if you do it too. That's a behavior issue, IMO. People can give other people smug looks in all areas of life. It's rude, but its not the park's job to control the politeness of people. I'm sure they'll advise people using the system to be polite when using it, but really. People can be rude during the VIP tours, on-site lodging ERT, etc. 2. The park plans to limit the number of passes sold enough so that it doens't seriously affect the wait times for people not using the system. When Knotts was testing theirs, the only time I noticed it was when people used the exit ramp on Xcelerator and caused me to wait an extra train for my seat. Otherwise I didn't even know it was there. Fortunately, CP's appears to use merge points instead of exit ramps, so people won't have to be flat-out told they need to wait another cycle. 3. Buying a fastlane pass and only visiting the park on one day will actually cost people less than paying for an extra day at the park and an extra night at a hotel to get all of the rides in. Lets be honest, if you want to do everything at CP, and you go on a weekend, you need multiple days. This increases the amount of people who will be able to afford the full CP experience who otherwise couldn't do more than one day. 4. Several friends and I all work minimum-wage (or close to it) jobs and we'll be road tripping to CP and buying the pass. It's in the general price range of the average park guest, unlike the VIP tours which are quite expensive. I think this program will actually make more people happy because it will be limited in order to not irritate non-users, while providing an extra product for people who are willing to pay a bit more.
  20. The 2012 park map has been posted, with some interesting changes: -Mini Golf has been removed from both the map and the website -The amphitheater has been removed from the map I am really hoping they remove that amphitheater. They almost never use it, and it's become nothing but wasted space. It'd be great to see something new there or in the old mini golf spot in 2013 or 2014.
  21. I'll be at Valleyfair opening weekend, if an open-close shift counts
  22. Not to sound like a fanboy here, but... Is there a possibility that this could be the next coaster for Valleyfair? Looking back, the four parks in the Cedar Fair chain that have gone the longest without a new coaster are CGA, CP, Michigan's Adventure, and VF (unless you count the recycled dragon coaster). CGA is rumored to get a GCI, so I don't see this going there. CP deserves something better. Michigan seems like too small of a park for them to put this expensive of a ride in, but who knows. Obviously, there's a large chance that this is going to another country all together, but if it is a US park, I think we'd be silly to rule out Cedar Fair, and parks besides Cedar Point. With no new addition this year, and family-oriented additions the past few years, I think 2013 could be the year for a coaster, and I wouldn't be shocked if Cedar Fair chose to try one out at VF. It's a relatively new style, and it would add to the hole in the parks coaster lineup (modern looping coaster). Personally, I'd rather have something forcefull and intense from Intamin down the road, but I think there's a remote possibility that this is headed to Minnesota.
