No! A giga would be too much for Knott's (in my opinion). My dream would be for Knott's to build a Verbolten-style ride with a cool story, launch and showroom with a vertical drop. They could easily theme it to Ghost Town, but if it were up to me I would create the story around a Native American legend like Mystery Lodge or put it in the corner of the park and theme it to Bigfoot!

Knoebels Discussion Thread

Someone needs to photoshop the Flying Turns trains in this picture. -
My first "big" coaster was Desparado in Nevada. I think I was 10 years old or so. I was on a family vacation for the weekend (Yes, we actually stayed at Stateline... we didn't just pass through to get to Vegas). I remember being really nervous the whole weekend, because I knew I would be riding Despardo at some point. At this age, the biggest roller coaster I had ever been on was Space Mountain. On the last day of the trip, my dad asked if I was ready to ride, and I remember being equally terrified and excited. Of course, I ended up loving every second of it. I still have a soft spot for Desparado, even though I've been on much better coasters since then.

I hope that if you ever add a "Like" button, you also add a "Dislike" button. It would be funny to see the +/- count and watch posts backfire on people. Then again, maybe I'm just demented.

What is your favorite video game level that takes place in a theme park or carnival? Left 4 Dead 2 - Dark Carnival The level of detail is incredible. Dark Carnival has it all... rides, games, cotton candy, zombie clowns (with honking noses!) and an amazing sequence where you run along a woodie track while fighting off hordes of zombies. Donkey Kong Country 2 - Krazy Kremland They basically took the original mine cart levels, and replaced them with roller coasters. Love it. I know there are more out there. Anyone?

^ Having just finished the book, I doubt it. Joyland isn't really plot heavy and the "mystery" is only a minor part of the story. Actually, it's a coming-of-age story that happens to be set in an amusement park. I enjoyed the book a lot, because I loved the setting and the attention to detail. As a theme park fan, I loved reading about the day-to-day life of an amusement park worker, but I could understand if that didn't hold most people's interest. Especially if they see the name Stephen King and expect a thriller/horror series.

Canobie Lake Park Photo TR: 5/4/13

Nice pictures! This park popped onto my radar when Untamed was built. Also, I just finished reading Joyland by Stephen King (loosely modeled after Canobie), so seeing these pictures was really fun. -

Same here... ONE Boomerang - Knott's Berry Farm -
^^ Let me recommend buying a 3DS XL. It's far superior and well worth the extra cash. My sister bought one on Craigslist for $140.

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
Wingwright replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^^ Depends on the ride. Most rides had a 1 or 2 train wait. Gatekeeper, Millenium and Raptor were about 15 minutes (the GP lines were over an hour). With Fastlane Plus, we rode every single (non kiddie) coaster in the park - Some of them 3 times. We also rode several flats. This was in early May. I can't recommend it enough. -
I'm considering buying Animal Crossing: New Leaf for 3DS, since I loved the gamecube and DS versions. Any of you guys planning on buying it? I'd love to be able to trade with people online!

Hello fellow TPR readers! I decided to make a thread about Joyland, the new Stephen King novel that released today. From the Amazon summary: I've been looking forward to reading this for a long time, since I love Stephen King (and obviously the setting). I've read about 25 pages or so, and I like it so far. I created this thread in case anybody else here is interested in the book and would like to discuss it. And as a courtesy, PLEASE MARK ALL SPOILERS BEFORE POSTING THEM!!!

Slightly off-topic, but I found a Park Index error in the Park Map section for Knott's. The 1991 and 1996 maps are either switched around, or incorrectly labeled altogether (I don't recall Mystery Lodge showing up in 1991 and disappearing in 1996! ). I'm not sure what the proper dates should be, but I know something is wrong. Just thought I would point it out so someone with greater power than me can fix it.
