Looks like they are adding another Pro Slide Bowl slide. They already have a Pro Bowl and Behemoth Bowl. This must be a Cannon or Bullet Bowl. It appears they are using the same platform as the existing Half Pipe, Behemoth Bowl and Mammoth Bubba. What is intersting is the list of current slides installed at this park on the ProSlide website. They have had this park as having a few ProSlides that where not there. However, they have been slowly adding to what that list has. It makes me wonder if they have a multi-year deal with ProSlide and that they accidentally put the list up as installed already. If this new slide is a Cannon Bowl, then they are just missing the 6 Lane Racer from the list. Maybe that will be installed for 2013... However, the list does actually match Sunsplash's current installation in California from ProSlide.

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
OISU8P replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
There are people out there that pay top dollar for reclaimed barn wood. http://www.barnwoodnaturals.com/ Cedar Point can make money with Mean Streak. Some millionaire in New York would probably spend $$$ to have part of it on their loft wall or ceiling. -
Does anyone know if Kinzel owns the house and property next to Cedar Point or if that is owned by Cedar Fair? I am curious if he will still reside there or if it becomes Matt's as a company perk. I think it would be tough for him to be retired and have to look at his old stomping ground all the time at his main residence.

^ I was actually referring to a smaller drop tower to replace Pitfall from the previous discussion there. Something along around the size of a tower at Waldameer. -

^ No, not by far... Unlike CP, Kennywood actually used THIS space at one point for the Centennial Celebration so the idea is not that far fetched to use it again for something. -

"X" marks the spot for a perfect space. This area could house a drop ride that is a little smaller and still keep the existing Phantom queue. -

I lived in the Pittsburgh area when Pittfall was built and remember folks in the area complaining about it and the skyline then. They complained about a big ugly metal pole sticking straight up from the park. Now they are complaining it is going to be gone. Although Kennywood is a very nice looking park inside. The skyline is hardly anything special in comparison to other parks in the country. Most of the backdrop is steam from some sort of manufacturing plant and I believe there is a cemetery or two in there also. -

I think some are kidding about not visiting the park because of the name and logo. If not, is this a better logo? He sure looks friendly and nonthreatening. -

Waldameer Discussion Thread

^^Yes, quality may be the wrong word. However, I had a new appreciation for their food after visiting Six Flags St Louis a few years back. I had the worst wings in my life there and paid around ten bucks for them. They where small and dry, it was like they where fried for a half hour two days before. Also, Cedar Fair's food vs price helps here a little on my opinion. I never have felt like Waldameers food was exactly not edible by Amusement Park standards. They are far from Kennywood or Knoebals quality for the price though. -

I was hoping for the new food court they where talking about a few years back. I know many people complain about the food there. However, I do not think the quality is bad for the price. Just the amount of options needs increased in my opinion. Everything else looks good though. Maybe they will do a water slide repaint in the coming years. -
An update was released for the iPhone OS today (5.0.1) which supposedly fixes some of the battery life problems. I am downloading and testing now, however I did not really have battery life problems.

If you liked Kennywood in 2005 for Dark Rides, you should have seen it around 1995 or prior. You would have loved it. Old Mill did not have the Garfield crap. (ADDED: Plus the old mill had the pass by and outdoor scenes which where very nice). Noah's Ark still had the Whale entrance and was not half remodeled inside to give only half a story line. Le Cachot was still there. Gold Rusher was still there (even though it was loading from the top for around ten years at this point. I still preferred the bottom loading if they could have gotten the cars to work the lift properly. Just had so much more at the entrance and a few more internal scenes like this. I have heard Ghost Ship was amazing and was prior to this time. It was also prior to me and I never got to experience it first hand. From the blueprints, it does look cool.

Thanks. Note to self, never try swimming if I take an Alaskan cruise.

When I took my cruise a few years back I noticed the pools on the cruise ship where empty when we first boarded and where full most of the cruise. A few times at port they where also empty. I assumed this was because putting the ship in port may cause it to spill over to much from the turns and such. The question I have is. Do they fill them with ocean water (somewhat filtered like Thunder Canyon at CP) or do they have storage tanks on the ship with water? I never went in one during my cruise to find out. Not because I am a cleanness freak, but because I was either to drunk or to hung over to go in. I also never even thought about this until after the cruise was long over.

This is a must read site for all classic dark ride lovers. http://billtracy.net/ I may have linked this before in another thread awhile back. However, I thought it would be a nice read to bring up again. I personally like looking at the topics in the "Professional" link. You may find the blueprints of your favorite defunct dark ride from Tracy.

^ The ride you are thinking about is "Fright Zone" at Erieview park. It was a relocated ride (minus the second floor) from West View Park in PA. It was a classic Bill Tracy ride and was bought by CLP and will probably never be put up given their history these days. Here is a short article with some pictures: http://www.laffinthedark.com/articles/erieview/erieview.htm Here is a ride through that is not great quality:

I personally do not remember the time period. However, I am part Irish and had relatives that also had history of that time period. Wonder why this never gets mentioned or referenced in these discussions (in whole, not this site). http://www.africaresource.com/rasta/sesostris-the-great-the-egyptian-hercules/the-irish-slave-trade-forgotten-white-slaves/
