What's New for 2011? Rides/attractions
OISU8P replied to larrygator's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This update is probably not worthy of the front page. However, my home park these days is this Waterpark. Golfland Sunsplash in Mesa AZ is getting a Proslide Behemoth Bowl for 2011. It is not officially announced yet, but they sent me an e-mail after an inquiry via e-mail. Larrygator, I can provide the e-mail to you if needed. -
WDW Magic Kingdom vs. Disneyland Questions
OISU8P replied to OISU8P's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ Thanks. I was wondering what the difference was between the two Haunted Mansions. I remember seeing the DL version winning year after year on Amusement Park Today over WDW's. That is what confuses me about the review between the two. -
I may be a little biased here since I am currently consumed in Fairies and Princesses. I also can relate to SharkTums on the buying of these costumes and gearing up to buy some new ones for my next Disney trip (whichever park that may be). I agree with a few of the other posters that think of Fantasyland as a little girls place in the park. I am a little disappointed they scrapped Pixie Hollow here and hope they find another space for it in the future. Many rides in Adventurland and Tommorrowland are more boy centric. Oh well, it looks like a great expansion anyways... I will look forward to the new coaster for her at some point.

WDW Magic Kingdom vs. Disneyland Questions
OISU8P replied to OISU8P's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Thanks again everyone for the feedback. Tax time is coming and that will make my final decision. Either way, I plan on a nice trip report to share. At least I am not seeing much gang activity in the area. The closet ones are "E/S Holly Hood Piru" http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&oe=UTF8&msa=0&msid=109207396431294085739.00000112583e7047c0070 -

WDW Magic Kingdom vs. Disneyland Questions

I am by no means a "die hard fan". I think I am going to base my decision on the following... - If I have an extra $3K plus to spend then I will go back to WDW. - If under $3K I will try Disneyland out. My four year old daughter is more into Princesses and Tinkerbell at this point, thus why I started to look at Cali. I can get that there it seems with less cost. I was thinking of rerouting some of those funds to house projects. I was then thinking of doing WDW maybe next year with her when she is a little older. Thus Everest and Rocking Roller Coaster. I also am going to start getting her kids books on each one of the Epcot countries. This way she has an interest in them. They would also have their new expansion complete by then...(Magic Kingdom) On a side note and not to change subject on parks. I was looking at Universal for a day in Cali. That looks like total $hit compared to the two parks in Orlando.... I was surprised. Thanks everyone for the input.... and yes I will most likely stay off site. These Disney hotels appear to have nothing on the WDW one. What crap for the $$$. -

WDW Magic Kingdom vs. Disneyland Questions

Thanks everyone for the responses. I think Ellissa may have hit a point I did not make on concern. The Cali parks appear to be in the middle of a shit hole and not much offerings as far as resorts go. That is a big negative to me on my final decision. However, I always wanted to experience the Matterhorn and their Pirates. Not to mention that I am still pissed at WDW for removing their Sub ride (not really, just looks interesting). I do like to Florida resort feel from my experiences... -
When I lived ion Pittsburgh I went to WDW a few times and am very familiar with the Magic Kingdom there. I was planning on going back there this May with my 4 year old. I have heard though that the Disneyland version in Cali is far superior though. I have heard that Pirates, It a Small World and the Haunted Mansion a way more superior. Has anyone on this board been to both and have any advice on if this is true? Also, my last two trips to WDW I stayed on property. This was namely the Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge (with savanna view). This Trip I was going to scale back to Port Orleans French Qtr. How do the Disneyland on property resorts compare to these? One last question, does anyone know off an online resource that is good for the Cali parks? I used wdwmagic.com and allears.net for WDW. I however cannot find the equivalent for Disneyland and DCA. Thanks

^ I know this is going into the conspiracy theory direction in which I try to avoid. For shits, chuckles and giggles I brought it up. Granted that Harold may be a real person, but I see no real proof that he even exists. How do two idiots from across the globe meet-up is the more interesting story I am trying to find out. Especially for a pile of wood that is rooting away. I am just curious on a few things here. Not that it will ever really matter in my life, just curiosity. -

From Robb over at GLT Two thought have came to mind here on this lately. 1. I may donate two bucks to see if the actual counter increases from $384 to $386. I would not put it past her to have the actual amount she has gotten to be false. Maybe she has a little more than reporting. 2. I am starting to think that there may be a possibility that Kiwi is not a real person. His whole reason for existence in this project never made any sense at all. I am not a member over there. However, I would be curious if the site admin could actually track the that kiwi supposbly posts from. I would be curious to find out if it is a registered ISP in New Zealand. Anyone a member here and there willing to request that from the admins over there? -

She was probably hoping that Warren Buffet would give a Christmas donation large enough to save her attempt.... Well, she can always try Pepsi as Plan B and see how that works out. By the way. She probably will be to busy to deal with this now that college is starting back up. She most likely needs to retake Calculus I. Although, if she passed with a C- and went to Calculus II, then it will only be worse for her. -

Makes sense and thanks for the info. I have never been on a double dip up of that magnitude (at least given the height of the hill). Are there any coasters that have that? Seems like a strange element to begin with. -

I did not get to ride Phantoms Revenge the first few years after its transformation. Even though this was my home park at the time, I did not go there for a few years. Does anyone know if they ever installed the double-up on the second hill from the concept art? If so, was this removed for some reason. However, I guess this also could just be a bad drawing and there never was a double up intended. You can see this on the second hill in the following: -

From looking at Robb's background on work experience. I am going to guess that $384 will not get them far on consulting fees with him. -

Yes, I found that part particularly funny. If the CEO of Walmart (or any company for that matter)found out that one of his/her delegates were not doing their job then they would address it. This could be either educating or firing the individual. Up until the past few days, I thought Kiwi was the smart one of the two. This just shows they are equally stupid.
