Geauga Lake Discussion Thread

Awesome.... I will also donate a few bucks maybe. Lets see if we can go on a Judge Judy type show to recoup our losses after official failure. We would probably loose since we donated to a fund without a solid or direction. It would be fun though for shits, chuckles and giggles... It is endless were we can take this one.... Got to take advantage of it while it lasts. June 30 is a coming and the dream will end. -

Wes, were you the person that donated $50 from this site? If so, do you get any information at all from your donation? The professional thing to do, is at least have a status given to those who shelled out $. Then again, maybe she thinks it is OK to not communicate even when there is no status. -
Does anyone know of an online database that can be searched for fairs and carnivals by area? Since moving to Phoenix, it is hard getting my flat fix in. I stumbled upon Gilbert Days Carnival this weekend. It was pretty decent for a four day event and had about 15+ flats. Rain and wind denied me of a credit for a Fabbri Kamikaze... However, their Darton Zero G and Wisdom Sizzler were pretty kick ass..

^Nah, she is going to have to spend the Christmas break relearning Calculus 1 it looks. Maybe she will pass next semester. I may donate five dollars next week to see if the website counter increases. I may also start to send her a daily request for updates to see were my five bucks is on helping out. After she fails, then I will take her to Judge Judy to get it back. I love this topic.... -

I just do not get the point of a launched wooden coaster and why any park would get one. Some things just are not meant happen with a wood coaster. We will see if anyone bites and tries this. -

I am wondering the same thing. I love Huss rides and they seem to have fizzled out in the past few years on installs. Are they really just doing parts now? -

Waldameer Discussion Thread

^ A themed Eurofighter would be great for this park with a inversion or two. I have spent so much time at this park the past few years that I could Roller Coaster Tycoon up some expansion ideas. My wish list is: Trivoli Orbitor Round Up (or Darton Zero G) Hawk 24 (They need an inverting flat) Huss Enterprise (Not needed, if the Hawk 24 is added). Small scale rapids ride. Shoot the Shuts splash down. Turnpike style ride. Matterhorn style flat or Music Express. One more dark ride. Some more kiddy rides for the young ones. I think I could fit that all in if the map proves to be true. Also, good to see your name again. I was on another forum briefly years ago that I believe you are on. I made a joke about some of Kennywoods attendance being hilljacks with mullets. Well, they did not have a sense of humor and I gave up trying to give them one. I grew up in the area and had one myself in high school.... Oh well.... -

^ This is what they did to the Cleveland Zoo to address a similar issue. If i remember correctly, the Cleveland Zoo's was much steeper and higher. Even though you can not tell from that image. Do a modified that (although panning the whole hillside they own to reduce slope) with this and problem solved. Maybe it is not a simple I I think though. -

It took me some time to find this picture again that I wanted to post. I did not create at it and can not remember were I found it. However, if I remember correctly the discussion was that this person was pretty close on the property Waldameer owns. If someone who owns it on here, please note that I am not taking credit for it. \ If this drawing is true, then they have much space. I have a few ideas and may mark this up just for fun.... Also with a few 3D views. -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
OISU8P replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Did not mean to hit a hot nerve, I have nothing against the park. I grew up around 2 hours from the park and went there often as a kid. I liked it, not as much as Cedar Point or Kennywood though. It is an easy target right now for two reasons. 1. The very amateur handling of the “save the big dipper” thing. I think it is great that someone is trying to save it. However, the wrong person is the one that stepped up. 2. The most active people of the GLT site are way far out there with the conspiracy theory and such. I mean some of the things over there posted are just down right unbelievable….It is hard to believe that some of then are out of high school. There are few posters over there that actually make sense. Cuddy is one of them and he seems to be the outcast. From the sounds of your position, you may also be one of them. I think it the park was closed for the following and was just the victim of a bunch of bad circumstances. After Six Flags did what they did to it. It was hard to come back from that, but not imposable by no means. Six Flags tried throwing in multiple coasters and sucked and the overall customer experience. Hence, why there is a whole new crew in charge of that company now. Cedar Fair saw their chance to get the park and kill this competition. No one can blame them, that is what business‘s do. However, I do not believe their initial intentions were to do what they ended up doing. They for one did not understand the importance of the wildlife side. They also got themselves in over their heads with Paramount acquisition. They saw the writing on the wall after that acquisition and I think that is when they pulled the plug on redeveloping the park. Notice, they also tried to dump a few other parks and the company as whole. They would by no means sell this park that would defeat the purpose of why they bought it. Given all this and the fact that the townships were hard to deal with and hated the park for some reason, why is there any question why the park is were it is today? Why do these people think Dick was just sitting around creating some Penguin style scheme from the beginning? I believe they wanted to reduce the park as a competition and run it similar to Waldameer. It just turned out management for Cedar Fair could not produce this, or at least produce it after they got in the Paramount deal. If they really wanted to eliminate competition through acquisition, then they would have closed Kings Island. However, they were dumb enough to add the same ride to the same parks this coming up year in such close proximity. They also tried to relocate an Intamin 1st gen drop ride to Knott’s after Magic Mountain took theirs out. How the hell were they going to market that one? Come to Knott’s to ride our new ride that is so old in experience the park up the street took theirs out. Again, sorry to offend. Again, I am not trying to attack GL the park directly. Just some of the bone heads that are up front and center. -
To anyone from TPR that has been to Pittsburgh and tried one of these. However, do not do what they do. They tend to load up the slaw and fries. Load up meat and eggs instead. Let the slaw and fries be an accent. I have missed these since living in Phoenix. The crazy things I do to come down on some free time. Well, I figured out how to create these bad boy cholesterol nightmares from scratch. Got to love reverse engineering and I started my research well before moving to Phoenix. Well, I have created a concoction that is going to be as close as I get without actual lab tests of ingredients. First we will start with the complicated part which is the ingredients and process to make the “Sweet and Sour Slaw”. I tried getting the proportion directly from them and they are not giving them. Oh well, back to as close as I can get with reverse engineering and modifications with taste over time. Ingredients: - Fresh Green Cabbage cut long (around a half head). - ¼ cup of Sugar. - ¼ Cup of Vegetable Oil (Plain Vegetable oil is best. Do not use Olive Oil it is to strong of a taste and to light in nature). - ¼ Cup of Cider Vinegar (add a very small amount white if you want more sour taste). - ¼ Tsp of Celery Salt. - ¼ Tsp of Black Pepper (I use mostly fine with a little course mixed in for a bang). - 1/8 Tsp Table Salt. Procedure: - Mix all ingredients in pot (EXCEPT the cabbage) and bring to a slight boil to dissolve the sugar. - Remove from heat and allow to cool to room temperature or below in the fridge. - Put cabbage in a bowl with the liquid, cover and refrigerate for around 6 hours at least. Toss multiple times for best results and drain off excess liquids. - Ready to serve. (Should stay fresh for up to 3 days) Now to the easy part the making of the sandwich. Ingredients: - Whole Italian Bread (if in Pittsburgh, Breadworks or Mancinnis will do). - About ¼ pound Sliced Lunch Meat (I use Pastrami) - Sour Slaw from previous steps - Fresh Brown Potato’s with a French Fry cut. - Sliced Tomato (I do not use) - Provolone (I do not use) - 3+ Jumbo Eggs Procedure: - Cut bread to make two slices around 1 inch thick. - Deep Fry your French Fry’s and put on the side. - Place lunch meat in warm skillet and lightly warm(do not burn). - Place Provolone slice on top of the lunch meat and continue cooking until lightly melted. - Place lunch meat and provolone on the first piece of bread. - Fry the 3+ eggs. Break yolk and turn, but do not scramble. (Lets the eggs be a little runny for best results). - Place eggs on top of meat\provolone on the sandwich. - Place fries on top of eggs. - Place sour slaw on top of fries with a slice of tomato. - Place second piece of bread on top and cut in half on a piece of wax paper. There you go, that is as close as I can get for now. I however am not liable for your health if you eat this. I may make on of these tonight and post a picture...

Maybe not Robb. By Larrygator's definition you need to have a news source. Well, around the past 50 pages have been about how she does not know what the hell she is doing. Well, she proved that with a news source. I will link once again the proof that that should not be super rumor.. http://www.wkyc.com/news/local/news_article.aspx?storyid=153937&catid=45\ I wish she would do a new update soon. I hate to set you up for disappointment here, but given this “ps” criteria you will not be getting a reply for a long time….. In General On This Topic: This message she placed on the "Conspiracy Theories R Us” website is just amazing…. Christ, next she will be stating that she could not get it together due to hemorrhoid flair up. On a side note, whatever happened to all those shirts she was going to market? I was really thinking of buying one. I may want to open a museum someday of ultimate failures. -

Here's an update. Waldameer has given the details on their expansion next year. It has been general knowledge to most that follow park in the region that was going to happen (at least the two kid’s rides and a Wave Swinger in the north turnaround of the train). However, here are a few more details. http://waldameer.blogspot.com Even though this park is small, I do enjoy it. My family loves staying in the cottages next door for a week every year. We just go back and forth from the cottage, lake and park with no schedule. Very relaxing… -
I love the lemonade I get at fairs and amusement parks. This is the lemonade that they squeeze half a lemon into a glass with sugar and mix some water. I have never seen the actual measurement of sugar though. Has anyone here ever worked the lemonade stand and know the ratio used (such as Tbs Sugar / 12 Ounces of water)? I am planting a lemon tree in the next couple of weeks and looking forward to making some great lemonade this spring.

Everyone blames TPR for being rude and not helping out the cause (that is how I found this great site). I however have had a change in heart and want to really help Kat out now that Kiwi jumped ship. I have thought about the only success she can have with her current planning skills and budget. I thus decided to help here with a basic budget break down and plan. This is the only realistic scenario I can see coming with the current situation. I did not get into details, because I did not add a line item in for my services. You get what you pay for. Anyways, here we go…. Here is the budget: BASIC Budget BASIC Plan Directions: http://mapq.st/h/1-AKKdFRGJ There you go and sorry for the reality check here, that is the only logical outcome for a successful plan. Unless some Millionaire gets drunk and stumbles upon your site between now and June 30…. Just hope they are real drunk. EDIT Disclaimer: Please look past any spelling or grammar errors in budget and plan. I did this fast and in about 20 minutes. Also, please tell me if I am out of line. I am new and not sure where the line is yet. However, this is as bad as I get…
